Therapeutic Modalities

Short-term Therapy

·     Through my Master’s in Clinical Social Work at New York University I was able to define my method of therapy as “psychodynamic.”

·      I work with the psychodynamic model integrated with therapy focused on the patient.

·     The psychodynamic model consists of the application of various theories, of both traditional and modern psychology.

·     In general this model studies various parts of the mind, psyche and personality and its interrelation with mental, emotional and motivational forces at the conscious and unconscious levels.

·     Some authors that help me focus on the patient and treatment include:

Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Alfred Adler, Melanie Klein, Anna Freud, Martin Seligman,  Noam Chomsky, Eric Erickson, Heins Kohut, Margaret Mahler, Harry Sullivan, Aaron Beck, John Gottman, Susan Johnson, Daniel Goleman, Salvador Minuchin, Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, etc.

Long-term Psychoanalytic Therapy

I completed my Master’s in Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires. In this program students receive a strong psychoanalytic training.

In cases of long-term treatment, I generally use analytic interpretation to obtain new meanings.

I use the method of free association in order to encourage unconscious material to become conscious.
