Cherry Nut Pound Cake

Cherry Nut Pound Cake from Rett via Husband's Aunt Jane Cwiklinski

 

Cream together:

1# margarine or butter

1# confectioners powdered sugar

Add:

6 whole eggs & beat well

Add:

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 Cups sifted flour

Mix well then fold in:

1 Cup chopped walnuts

Add:

1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained well (I cut them in half with kitchen shears)

Stir gently into mixture then divide dough into greased & floured loaf pans.

This will make 4 loaves, 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" sized pans.

Bake at 350º for 40 minutes or until toothpick into center comes out dry.
