Homemade Crème Fraîche

makes about 1 cup

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 Tablespoons buttermilk

In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream and buttermilk.  Cover with a sheet of cheese cloth and allow to sit at room temperature for 12-24 hours, or until it is very thick.  Stir and refrigerate until ready to use. Once thick it can be refrigerated for up to 10 days.  Enjoy!
