Celebrating Mission and Life at Federated Church!

Micro-grants available    Mission & Social Action Committee has funds available to support a favorite cause or kick-start a project to serve the community or indeed the world!  How do you want to change the world?  Grants will be small, but can make a genuine difference.  Forms are available in the church narthex or office.  Contact chairperson Brent Gausman with any questions.  To date, two micro-grant has been awarded, one to the Westras for their work on our behalf in Zimbabwe and a second to Habitat for Humanity International for a church building project in El Salvador.  A third micro-grant will cover the cost of renting the documentary "Papers: Stories of Undocumented Youth," to be shown in October 2013 (watch for news about that)!

Pastoral Care Discretionary Fund   The Council approved the establishment of a small fund for use primarily for unmet needs within the church family (broadly defined).  Amounts given are limited, but can provide necessary help when persons find themselves in need.  If you or someone you know within the wide scope of Federated's family, the pastor is the person to approach.  Thank you to many of you who choose to provide for this Fund; it is already being used and having an impact.

Words of Appreciation

On behalf of the Office of Community Engagement, thank you for your donation of desserts. Your generous contribution helped to support our 6th annual Bread 'N Bowl fundraiser which raised awareness about violence and poverty in our community. We had over 150 community members attend the event, and raised over $1,600 that was donated to three area nonprofits: Someplace Safe, the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance and the Stevens County Food Shelf.

Minnesota Conference Of United Church of Christ: Your gifts to Our Church's Wider Mission have made such a difference in the lives of people in the wider church and around the world. Your gifts in each of the UCC special offerings are significant and especially so in OCWM. Thank you for your faithfulness to the mission we hold in common. We wish you all good in this church year. We pray God's blessing on each of your congregations.
