Welcome to Vicki Hughes who was a recent contest winner with Midlife Collage for her humorous short story, "Confessions of a Condiment Addict." New Member Fairhope Writers' Forum welcomes new Core Group member, Donna Orchard. Donna, a former educator, is author of "Roughneck Daddy," a non-fiction book about her father. For more information about her book visit the "Press Room" tab on our website. Welcome, Donna! Free Verse Selection Published SENSE Magazine has published Core Group member R.M. (Bob) Trammell's free verse selection, "Nostalgia" in the the magazine's November 2012 edition. You can read "Nostalgia" under "The Writing Corner" tab. Congratulations, Bob! Short Story Publication Congratulations to Core Group member Elizabeth Phelps. Her short story, "The Lover of Life" was published in the Gulf Coast Writers' Association's fall issue of The Magnolia Quarterly. Alliance Formed With Rainy Day Writers' Group FWF was recently invited to form an alliance with the Rainy Day Writers' Group of Cambridge, Ohio. The group is comprised of nine members, and thus far, has published two books as a group. A third, entitled "Sold," is due out in October 2012. Like those of Fairhope Writers' Forum, the Rainy Day Writers have also published numerous individual works independently. Both groups will share their work for critique purposes. The Rainy Day Writers' books are available online at Amazon.com. New/Upcoming Book Publications - FWF Core Group Member, Shirley L. Gear, has just published her first book, an inspirational piece entitled "The Source is With You." Read more about her book under the The Writing Corner and Press Room tabs. Core Group Member Named Top Ten Runner-Up One of FWF's own, Emma Louise Langham, was named a top ten runner-up in Southern Writers' Magazine's Short Story Contest. As a top ten winner, Emma Louise's story, "A Windy Day at the Beach," appeared in Southern Writers' "Special Stories" publication in August 2012.
