“As for the voice of the General Conference, there is no voice from God through that body that is reliable.” Manuscript 57, October  12, 1895 & Manuscript Releases, vol 17, p 178

"God has not put any kingly power in our ranks to control..."  General Conference Bulletin, April 3, 1901, p 23-26.

"That these men should stand in a sacred place, to be as the voice of God to the people, as we once believed the General Conference to be,—that is past. What we want now is a reorganization. We want to begin at the foundation, and to build upon a different principle." THE ELLEN G. WHITE 1888 MATERIALS, PAGE 1745

"At times, when a small group of men entrusted with the general management of the work have, in the name of the General Conference, sought to carry out unwise plans and to restrict God’s work, I have said that I could no longer regard the voice of the General Conference, represented by these few men, as the voice of God. But this is not saying that the decisions of a General Conference composed of an assembly of duly appointed, representative men from all parts of the field, should not be respected. God has ordained that the representatives of His church from all parts of the earth, when assembled in a General Conference, shall have authority. The error that some are in danger of committing, is in giving to the mind and judgment of one man, or of a small group of men, the full measure of authority and influence that God has vested in His church, in the judgment and voice of the General Conference assembled to plan for the prosperity and advancement of His work.    When this power, which God has placed in the church, is accredited wholly to one man, and he is invested with the authority to be judgment for other minds, then the true Bible order is changed. Satan’s efforts upon such a man’s mind would be most subtle, and sometimes well-nigh overpowering; for the enemy would hope that through his mind he could affect many others. Let us give to the highest organized authority in the church that which we are prone to give to one man or to a small group of men."—Testimonies for the Church 9:257-261.

Neal C. Wilson, then vice-president of the General Conference, states in the Reply Brief for Defendants, p 4:

"Although it is true that there was a period in the life of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when the denomination took a distinctly anti-Roman Catholic viewpoint, and the term ‘hierarchy’ was used in a pejorative sense to refer to the papal form of church governance, that attitude on the church's part was nothing more than a manifestation of widespread anti-popery among conservative Protestant denominations in the early part of this century and the latter part of the last, and which has now been consigned to the historical trash heap so far as the Seventh-day Adventist Church is concerned." EEOC vs PPPA and GC, Civil Case #74-2025 CBR (1975).1886-- Warning about the "evil of centering so many responsibilities in Battle Creek" or the General Conference headquarters. (Letter 34, March 1, 1886, Manuscript Release #133, p 27).

In 1985, Neal Wilson clearly stated: "People expect the General Conference to have the last word and to speak for the Church with ultimate authority." 140-85GN ROLE AND FUNCTION OF DENOMINATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS --COMMISSION REPORT, p 22 (April 30, 1985).

"The Seventh-day Adventist Church is essentially a hierarchical system..." Record, June 23, 1990, p 2.

1894-- Warning of a confederacy being formed "that would make Battle Creek, like Rome, the great head of the work." (Letter 71, April 8, 1894, Pamphlet #149, p 22).

-- Warning that the conference president does not "have authority to rule over his fellow workman. This is after the practice of Rome...and the man is led to place himself where God alone should be....men are pursuing a similar course to that of the Roman Catholics who center in the pope every power of the church." (Letter 53, 1894, Manuscript Releases, vol 9, p 178-179).

1895-- It is "dangerous to consolidate all our institutions under one head at Battle Creek, and let one institution control all others." (Manuscript 11, April 10, 1895, Manuscript Releases, vol 4, p 411).

-- "At the center of the work matters are being shaped so that every other institution is following in the same course. And the General Conference is itself becoming corrupted...They are following in the track of Romanism." Testimonies to Ministers, p 359-362.

1896-- Warning that "the same work that has been done in the past will be carried forward under the guise of the General Conference Association." (Letter 81, May 31, 1896, 1888 Materials, p 1558-1573).

1901-- "That these men should stand in a sacred place, to be as the voice of God to the people, as we once believed the General Conference to be,--that is past. What we want now is reorganization....God has not put any kingly power in our ranks to control." 1901 General Conference Bulletin, p 23-26, April 3, 1901.

1903-- "The results of the last General Conference [1901] has been the greatest, the most terrible sorrow of my life. No change was made." Letter 17, January 14, 1903, Manuscript Releases, vol 13, p 122-123 (see also Testimonies, vol 8, p 104-106).

-- Warning that the 1903 adoption of a new organizational structure was similar in rebellion to the building of the tower of Babel. (Manuscript 94, August 27, 1903, Kress Collection, p 1-6).

-- Warning that we are to have "no popes among us." (Letter 212, September 23, 1903, Spalding and Magan Collection, p 324-325).

-- Warning that "storm and tempest would sweep away the structure." (Letter 242, October, 1903, Special Testimonies, Series B#7, p 36-42).

1905-- "That which has been done there [Battle Creek--General Conference Headquarters] since the General Conference held at Oakland in 1903 will result in the loss of many souls." Special Testimonies, Series B#7, p 15, November 20, 1905.

"There is another universal and truly catholic organization, the Seventh-day Adventist Church." Adventist Review, March 5, 1981, p 3.

The General Conference leadership were "pursuing a similar course to that of the Roman Catholics" (Manuscript Releases, vol 9, p 179--Letter 53, 1894).

-- The GC was being made "like Rome, the great head of the work" (Manuscript Release #133, p 27--Letter 71, April 8, 1894).

-- And they were already "following in the track of Romanism" (Testimonies to Ministers, p 362).

"The proposed new constitution reverses the reformatory steps that were taken...in the constitution of 1901....but I want to say to you that any man who has ever read Neander's History of the Christian Church, Mosheim's, or any other of the great church historians...can come to no other conclusion but that the principles which are to be brought in through this proposed constitution, and in the way in which they are brought in, are the same principles, and introduced in precisely the same way, as they were hundreds of years ago when the papacy was made." 1903 General Conference Bulletin, p 150.

"Our religion would be changed....A new organization would be established."  Selected Messages, book 1, p 204-205.

"I am charged to tell our people, that do not realize, that the devil has device after device, and he carries them out in ways that they do not expect.  Satan's agencies will invent ways to make sinners out of saints.

"I tell you now, that when I am laid to rest, great changes will take place.

"I do not know when I shall be taken; and I desire to warn all against the devices of the devil.

"I want the people to know that I warned them fully before my death." Last Day Events from the Letters and Manuscripts of E.G. White, p 60 (Manuscript 1, February 24, 1915).

"The Seventh-day Adventist Church is essentially a hierarchical system..." Record, June 23, 1990, p 2.

"The session [55th General Conference Session in 1990] has demonstrated the hierarchial nature of the church's administrative structure." Record, August 4, 1990, p 2.

"Others have so identified structure with policy and the official hierarchy of the church that change is often viewed as unfaithfulness." Adventist Review, Special Edition, October, 1994, p 51.

"...the structure of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is essentially hierarchical...The pyramid of church organization maintains equilibrium and sustains growth as it reflects the people who comprise it." Record, June 23, 1990, p 4-5.

"The Seventh-day Adventist Church follows a model of organizational order in the church which is modified from the orders of Roman Catholicism, but it retains the same notions of clerical order which separates the members of the Church into two classes--clergy and laity." Messenger, December, 1993, p 2.

"Although it is true that there was a period in the life of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when the denomination took a distinctly anti-Roman Catholic viewpoint, and the term 'hierarchy' was used in a pejorative sense to refer to the papal form of church governance, that attitude on the church's part was nothing more than a manifestation of widespread anti-poperyamong conservative Protestant denominations in the early part of this century and the latter part of the last, and which has now been consigned to the historical trash heap so far as the Seventh-day Adventist Church is concerned." Equal Employment Opportunity Commission vs Pacific Press Publishing Association and General Conference of SDA, Civil Case #74-2025 CBR (1975), Reply Brief for Defendants, p 4.

"Church documents that prescribe the church's structure and governance confirm that all parts of the church are parts of a single entity.  Next to the Roman Catholic church, the Adventist church is the most centralized of all the major Christian denominations in this country." Derrick Proctor vs General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, case #81 C 4938, Findings of Fact, Section B, Church Objectives and Structures, p 22.

"As is the mother, so is her daughter." Ezekiel 16:44.

"That night I dreamed that I was in Battle Creek looking out from the side glass at the door and saw a company marching up to the house, two and two.  They looked stern and determined.  I knew them well and turned to open the parlor door to receive them, but thought I would look again.  The scene was changed.  The company now presented the appearance of a Catholic procession. One bore in his hand a cross, another a reed.  And as they approached, the one carrying a reed made a circle around the house, saying three times: 'This house is proscribed.  The goods must be confiscated.  They have spoken against our holy order.'  Terror seized me, and I ran through the house, out of the north door, and found myself in the midst of a company, some of whom I knew, but I dared not speak a word to them for fear of being betrayed.  I tried to seek a retired spot where I might weep and pray without meeting eager, inquisitive eyes wherever I turned.  I repeated frequently: 'If I could only understand this!  If they will tell me what I have said or what I have done!'

"I wept and prayed much as I saw our goods confiscated.  I tried to read sympathy or pity for me in the looks of those around me, and marked the countenances of several whom I thought would speak to me and comfort me if they did not fear that they would be observed by others.  I made one attempt to escape from the crowd, but seeing that I was watched, I concealed my intentions." Testimonies, vol 1, p 578.

"The General Conference, then is the Seventh-day Adventist church....the embodiment of the remnant church as a Christian denomination, in a unified worldwide organization, to which all baptized Seventh-day Adventists owe spiritual allegiance." EEOC vs PPPA, Civil Case #74-2025 CBR, p 17, Opening Brief.

"Why is there so dim a perception of the true spiritual condition of the church?  Has not blindness fallen upon the watchmen standing on the walls of Zion?...Who can truthfully say, 'Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world'?  I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness.  Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath.  Then He (Christ) said to me: 'Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character?  'How is the faithful city become an harlot!  My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed!'"  Testimonies, vol 8, p 248-250 (April 21, 1903).

“On many occasions the Holy Spirit did work; but those who resisted the Spirit of God at Minneapolis were waiting for a chance to travel over the same ground again, because their spirit was the same....But all the universe of heaven witnessed the disgraceful treatment of Jesus Christ, represented by the Holy Spirit.  Had Christ been before them, they would have treated him in a manner similar to that in which the Jews treated Christ....

“The Lord is coming; but those who venture to resist the light that God gave in rich measure at Minneapolis, who have not humbled their hearts before God, will follow on in the path of resistance, saying, ‘Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice?’” Series A, #6, p 20, 26.

"What a wonderful work could have been done for the vast company gathered in Battle Creek at the general conference of 1901, if the leaders of our work had taken themselves in hand.  But the work that all heaven was waiting to do as soon as men prepared the way was not done; for the leaders closed and bolted the door against the Spirit's entrance....The doors were barred against the Heavenly Current that would have swept away all evil...They built themselves up in wrong doing, and said to the Spirit of God, 'Go thy way for this time; when I have a more convenient season, I will call for thee.'"  Battle Creek Letters, p 55-56 (Letter 123, August 23, 1902).

"...what did the brethren in that fearful position in which they stood, reject at Minneapolis?  They rejected the latter rain, the loud cry of the third angel's message....

"...the Spirit of the Lord was there to tell them that they were doing it, was it not?  But when they were rejecting the loud cry, the teaching righteousness; and then the Spirit of the Lord, by His prophet, stood there and told us what they were doing, what then? Oh!  Then they simply set this prophet aside with all the rest." 1893 General Conference Bulletin, p 183.

"Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate.  Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach." Hebrews 13:12-13.

"The first, second, and third angel's messages are to be repeated.  The call is to be given to the church: 'Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird....come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.'" Review and Herald, October 31, 1899 (vol 4, p 109, col 3).

“Division and General Conference officers form a critical area of church leadership around the world.  Vice presidents (and you understand that division presidents are first vice presidents of the General Conference) report to the General Conference president.  According to the Bylaws, while they serve a division they are vice presidents of the General Conference...

“If you compare vice presidents to ‘cardinals,’ we already have a ‘cardinal’ from Africa, and before this [1985 General Conference] session ends, I predict we will have two African ‘cardinals’ among our 15 vice-presidents...there is no ‘cardinal’ from all the countries of the Far East, while there will probably be two ‘cardinals’ from Africa.” (General Conference President Neal C. Please note: since all division presidents are only vice presidents of the General Conference, and as these vice presidents are likened to “cardinals”, then that makes the General Conference president the one supreme leader of the entire Seventh-day Adventist Church–or the pope of Adventism!

“The liturgy of the Church, however, sees in the priesthood of Aaron and the service of the Levites, as in the institution of the seventy elders, a prefiguring of the ordained ministry of the New Covenant....

“In the ecclesial service of the ordained minister, it is Christ himself who is present to his Church as Head of his Body, Shepherd of his flock, high priest of the redemptive sacrifice, Teacher of Truth. This is what the Church means by saying that the priest, by virtue of the sacrament of Holy Orders, acts in persona Christi Capitis:...Christ is the source of all priesthood: the priest of the old law was a figure of Christ, and the priest of the new law acts in the person of Christ.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Chapter Three, Article 6, Section II, # 1541 & 1548.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/orders.html#SACRAMENT).

“Only to the apostles, and thenceforth to those on whom their successors have imposed hands, is granted the power of the priesthood, in virtue of which they represent the person of Jesus Christ before their people, acting at the same time as representatives of their people before God....

“The priest is the same, Jesus Christ, whose sacred Person His minister represents. Now the minister, by reason of the sacerdotal consecration which he has received, is made like to the High Priest and possesses the power of performing actions in virtue of Christ's very person....

“The people, on the other hand, since they in no sense represent the divine Redeemer and are not mediator between themselves and God, can in no way possess the sacerdotal power.”

(Pope Pius XII, in Mediator Dei (on the Sacred Liturgy), Encyclical promulgated on November 20, 1947, #40, 69 & 84.http://www.geocities.com/papalencyclicals/Pius12/P12MEDIA.HTM).

“Finally, the priest, in another way, follows the example of Christ. Of Him it is written that He 'passed the whole night in the prayer of God' and 'ever lives to make intercession for us'; and like Him, the priest, is public and official intercessor (mediator) of humanity before God...” (Pope Pius XI, in Ad Catholici Sacerdotii (On the Catholic Priesthood), encyclical promulgated on December 20, 1935, #28.http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius11/P11CATHO.HTM).

“We see here that his (Aaron’s) principle responsibility was to act as a mediator, as a link between the holy and profane, between God and man...an incarnation of the people, and the spiritual representative of all Israel....In like manner the minister of the gospel today is the high priest....Today we (SDA ministers) are the high priests....God desires that we who are His high priests today learn the same lesson....What a tremendous responsibility to act as mediators between God and man!” (M.S. Nigri, president of the South Brazil Union Conference, in Ministry Magazine (official journal of the Ministerial Association of the Seventh-day Adventist Church), December, 1961, p 27-29).

“Now you know well that the most deadly foes of the Catholic religion have always waged a fierce war, but without success, against this Chair; they are by no means ignorant of the fact that religion itself can never totter and fall while this Chair remains intact, the Chair which rests on the rock which the proud gates of hell cannot overthrow[5] and in which there is the whole and perfect solidity of the Christian religion.” (Pope Pius IX, in Inter Multiplices (Pleading for Unity of Spirit), Encyclical promulgated on March 21, 1853, #7.  http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius09/p9interm.htm).

“From this text it is clear that by the will and command of God the Church rests upon St. Peter...It is consequently the office of St. Peter to support the Church, and to guard it in all its strength and indestructible unity. How could he fulfil this office without the power of commanding, forbidding, and judging, which is properly called jurisdiction?...The words - and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it proclaim and establish the authority of which we speak. ‘What is the it?’ (writes Origen). ‘Is it the rock upon which Christ builds the Church or the Church? The expression indeed is ambiguous, as if the rock and the Church were one and the same. I indeed think that this is so, and that neither against the rock upon which Christ builds His Church nor against the Church shall the gates of Hell prevail’ (Origenes, Comment. in Matt., tom. xii., n. ii). The meaning of this divine utterance is, that, notwithstanding the wiles and intrigues which they bring to bear against the Church, it can never be that the church committed to the care of Peter shall succumb or in any wise fail. ‘For the Church, as the edifice of Christ who has wisely built 'His house upon a rock,' cannot be conquered by the gates of Hell, which may prevail over any man who shall be off the rock and outside the Church, but shall be powerless against it’ (Ibid.). Therefore God confided His Church to Peter so that he might safely guard it with his unconquerable power. He invested him, therefore, with the needful authority; since the right to rule is absolutely required by him who has to guard human society really and effectively. This, furthermore, Christ gave: ‘To thee will I give the keys of the kingdom of Heaven.’ And He is clearly still speaking of the Church, which a short time before He had called His own, and which He declared He wished to build on Peter as a foundation. The Church is typified not only as an edificebut as a Kingdom, and every one knows that the keys constitute the usual sign of governing authority. Wherefore when Christ promised to give to Peter the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, he promised to give him power and authority over the Church. ‘The Son committed to Peter the office of spreading the knowledge of His Father and Himself over the whole world. He who increased the Church in all the earth, and proclaimed it to be stronger than the heavens, gave to a mortal man all power in Heaven when He handed him the Keys’ (Johannes Chrysostomus, Hom. Liv., in Matt. v., 2)....

“And since all Christians must be closely united in the communion of one immutable faith, Christ the Lord, in virtue of His prayers, obtained for Peter that in the fulfilment of his office he should never fall away from the faith.” (Pope Leo XIII, in Satis Cognitum (On the Unity of the Church), Encyclical promulgated on June 29, 1896, #12.  http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Leo13/l13satis.htm).

"The prophetic scenario assures us of the (SDA) church's survival....[It will] go through until the very end....it does not fall..." (Charles E. Bradford, president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, in Adventist Review, May 4, 1989, p 9).

"...because the church is under God's grace it ‘may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall...'" (William G. Johnson, editor of the Adventist Review, in Adventist Review, September 22, 1983, p 14).

Please note: the church which appears to fall but does not is God’s true church of obedient individuals, not a denominational structure!  For the Bible proof, please go to:http://www.TrueChurchofGod.info.

To the one true Church of Christ, we say, which is visible to all, and which is to remain, according to the will of its Author, exactly the same as He instituted it. During the lapse of centuries, the mystical Spouse of Christ has never been contaminated, nor can she ever in the future be contaminated, as Cyprian bears witness: ‘The Bride of Christ cannot be made false to her Spouse: she is incorrupt and modest. She knows but one dwelling, she guards the sanctity of the nuptial chamber chastely and modestly.’" (Pope Pius XI, in Mortalium Animos (On Religious Unity), Encyclical promulgated on January, 1928, #10.http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius11/P11MORTA.HTM).

”It is eminently befitting the nature and necessity of the case, that Christ Jesus has been and shall continue to be ready to safeguard the Church, which His provident care established for the salvation of the human race. This certainty is warranted by the promise of her Divine Founder, which we read in the Gospel; and it must be clear to evidence from the annals of that Church, on which error has never set a stain, which no falling away however widespread of her sons has made to waver, which regains her youthful vigor and ceaselessly renews her strength despite the assaults of impious men, even when carried to the most shocking extremes....

”We mean the precepts of Christ Jesus, who has provided and strengthened His Church with a superb, an immortal constitution which so many vicissitudes of time and fortune, so many tribulations during the twenty centuries that have passed have been unable to shake, and will never cause to totter even to the day of doom.” (Pope Pius XI, Ad Salutem (On St. Augustine, Encyclical promulgated on April 30, 1930, #1 & 29.  http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius11/P11SALUT.HTM).

“The sacrificial character of the Eucharist is manifested in the very words of institution: 'This is my body which is given for you' and 'This cup which is poured out for you is the New Covenant in my blood.' In the Eucharist Christ gives us the very body which he gave up for us on the cross, the very blood which he 'poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'...

“Through the ministry of priests the spiritual sacrifice of the faithful is completed in union with the sacrifice of Christ the only Mediator, which in the Eucharist is offered through the priests' hands in the name of the whole Church in an unbloody and sacramental manner until the Lord himself comes....

“In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist ‘the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained.’  ‘... it is presence in the fullest sense: that is to say, it is a substantial presence by which Christ, God and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present.’...

“The Eucharistic presence of Christ begins at the moment of the consecration and endures as long as the Eucharistic species subsist [thus fully under the control of and discretion of the priest]. Christ is present whole and entire in each of the species and whole and entire in each of their parts...

“Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go to meet him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section Two, Chapter One, Article 3, Subsection V, #1365, 1369, 1374, 1377, 1380.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/euch2.html#presence).

“...the Eucharist cannot unite us to Christ without at the same time cleansing us from past sins and preserving us from future sins...If, as often as his blood is poured out, it is poured for the forgiveness of sins, I should always receive it, so that it may always forgive my sins. Because I always sin, I should always have a remedy.[St. Ambrose, De Sacr. 4, 6, 28: PL 16, 446; cf. 1 Cor 11:26.]" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section Two, Chapter One, Article 3, Subsection VI, #1393.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/euch2.html#BANQUET).

Once each week, on the day which she has called the Lord's Day [Sunday], she keeps the memory of the Lord's resurrection. She also celebrates it once every year, together with his blessed Passion, at Easter, that most solemn of all feasts....

“Therefore Easter is not simply one feast among others, but the ‘Feast of feasts,’ the ‘Solemnity of solemnities,’ just as the Eucharist is the "Sacrament of sacraments" (the Great Sacrament). Roman Catholic Church

Seventh-day Adventist Church

"'By a tradition handed down from the apostles which took its origin from the very day of Christ's Resurrection, the Church celebrates the Paschal mystery every seventh day, which day is appropriately called the Lord’s Day or Sunday.'[SC 106.] The day of Christ's Resurrection is both the first day of the week, the memorial of the first day of creation, and the 'eighth day,' on which Christ after his 'rest' on the great sabbath inaugurates the 'day that the Lord has made,' the 'day that knows no evening.'[Byzantine liturgy.] The Lord's Supper is its center, for there the whole community of the faithful encounters the risen Lord who invites them to his banquet:[Cf. Jn 21:12 ; Lk 24:30 .]  The Lord's day, the day of Resurrection, the day of Christians, is our day. It is called the Lord's day because on it the Lord rose victorious to the Father. If pagans call it the 'day of the sun,' we willingly agree, for today the light of the world is raised, today is revealed the sun of justice with healing in his rays.[St. Jerome, Pasch.: CCL 78, 550.]" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Part Two, Subsection III, #1166.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/paschal3.html#WHEN).

"Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath. In Christ's Passover, Sunday fulfills the spiritual truth of the Jewish sabbath and announces man's eternal rest in God. For worship under the Law prepared for the mystery of Christ, and what was done there prefigured some aspects of Christ:[Cf. 1 Cor 10:11 .]  Those who lived according to the old order of things have come to a new hope, no longer keeping the sabbath, but the Lord's Day, in which our life is blessed by him and by his death.[St. Ignatius of Antioch, Ad Magn. 9, 1: SCh 10, 88.] (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section Two, Chapter One, Article 2 , Subsection III, # 2175.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/comm2.html#DAY).

Samuel Bacchiocchi, Professor of Church History and Theology at Andrews Seventh-day Adventist University, is a well-known SDA lecturer who has presented his “Lord’s Day Seminars” to many SDA churches.  He wrote a book entitled “From Sabbath To Sunday”, wherein the "Lord's day" is referred to as being Sunday and not Saturday over 51 times in just the first 160 pages of this 369 page book!

In reference to Revelation 1:10 – "I [John] was in the Spirit on the Lord's day" – Bacchiocchi argues that the "Lord's day" is not the seventh day Sabbath, but it either refers to “a (weekly) Sunday” , or an “Easter-Sunday”, or it refers to the time of “Christ's (second) coming” (p 111-113).  He calls the keeping of the moral Sabbath of the 4th commandment a "Jewish tradition" (p 13), a "Jewish religious institution" (p 163), and states that "the eighth day (or Sunday – the day after the Sabbath) far surpassed the seventh day" (p 283). He also states that Paul was warning against those who would promote Seventh-day Sabbath keeping "as indispensable aids to Christian perfection" (p 356).  And then he sums up his whole book in the very last sentence by stating:

"...Paul rejected the Sabbath as a means of salvation but accepted it as a shadow pointing to the substance which belongs to Christ." (Dr. Samuel Bacchiocchi, in From Sabbath To Sunday, p 368-369, published by the Pontifical Gregorian University Press, Rome in 1977, IMPRIMATUR by R.P. Herve Carrier, S.I., University Rector).

But does the Seventh-day Adventist Church agree with Bacchiocchi and the Catholic Church – that the Lord’s day is not the seventh day Sabbath, but can be Sunday?

"...the phrase ‘the Lord's day’ in Revelation 1:10....More attention should be given to the possibility that the phrase refers to an annual resurrection (Sunday) celebration." (The Sabbath in Scripture and History, p 127, published by the Seventh-day Adventist Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1982).

Upholds  Sunday  Description: http://www.lightministries.com/SDA/1x1.gifLaws

Roman Catholic Church

Seventh-day Adventist Church

“Thus, religion and moral and physical well-being are one in demanding this periodic rest, and for many centuries now the Church has set aside Sunday as a special day of rest for the faithful, on which they participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the memorial and application of Christ's redemptive work for souls.

“Heavy in heart, We cannot but deplore the growing tendency in certain quarters to disregardthis sacred law, if not to reject it outright. This attitude must inevitably impair the bodily and spiritual health of the workers, whose welfare We have so much at heart.

“In the name of God, therefore, and for the sake of the material and spiritual interests of men,We call upon all, public authorities, employers and workers, to observe the precepts of God and His Church and to remember their grave responsibilities before God and society.” (Pope John XXIII, in Mater Et Magistra, Encyclical promulgated on May 15, 1961, # 251-253.http://www.papalencyclicals.net/John23/j23mater.htm).

“And in like manner, in the case of the worker, there are many things which the power of the State should protect; and, first of all, the goods of his soul. For however good and desirable mortal life be, yet it is not the ultimate goal for which we are born, but a road only and a means for perfecting, through knowledge of truth and love of good, the life of the soul. The soul bears the express image and likeness of God, and there resides in it that sovereignty through the medium of which man has been bidden to rule all created nature below him and to make all lands and all seas serve his interests....in this connection a man cannot even by his own free choice allow himself to be treated in a way inconsistent with his nature, and suffer his soul to be enslaved; for there is no question here of rights belonging to man, but of duties owed to God, which are to be religiously observed.

“Hence follows necessary cessation from toil and work on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. Let no one, however, understand this in the sense of greater indulgence of idle leisure, and much less in the sense of that kind of cessation from work, such as many desire, which encourages vice and promotes wasteful spending of money, but solely in the sense of a repose from labor made sacred by religion. Rest combined with religion calls man away from toil and the business of daily life to admonish him to ponder on heavenly goods and to pay his just and due homage to the Eternal Deity. This is especially the nature, and this the cause, of the rest to be taken on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, and God has sanctioned the same in the Old Testament by a special law: ‘Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath Day,’ and He Himself taught it by His own action; namely the mystical rest taken immediately after He had created man: ‘He hath rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.’...

“Let the worker be exhorted to the worship of God and the pursuit of piety, especially to religious observance of Sundays and Holy Days. Let him learn to reverence and love the Church, the common Mother of all, and likewise to observe her precepts and to frequent her Sacraments, which are the divine means for purifying the soul from the status of sin and for attaining sanctity.” (Pope Leo XIII, Rerum Novarum (On the Condition of the Working Classes), Encyclical promulgated on May 15, 1891, #57-58 & 77. http://www.newadvent.org/docs/le13rn.htm).

"[It is error to believe that] The Church ought to be separated from the State, and the State from the Church." (Pope Pius IX, The Syllabus (of Errors), Issued in 1864, Section VI, Errors About Civil Society, Considered Both in Itself and in its Relation to the Church, #55.http://www.ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/P9SYLL.HTM).

“For several centuries, Christians observed Sunday simply as a day of worship, without being able to give it the specific meaning of Sabbath rest. Only in the fourth century did the civil law of the Roman Empire recognize the weekly recurrence, determining that on "the day of the sun" the judges, the people of the cities and the various trade corporations would not work.  Christians rejoiced to see thus removed the obstacles which until then had sometimes made observance of the Lord's Day heroic. They could now devote themselves to prayer in common without hindrance.

“It would therefore be wrong to see in this legislation of the rhythm of the week a mere historical circumstance with no special significance for the Church and which she could simply set aside. Even after the fall of the Empire, the Councils did not cease to insist upon the arrangements regarding Sunday rest. In countries where Christians are in the minority and where the festive days of the calendar do not coincide with Sunday, it is still Sunday which remains the Lord's Day, the day on which the faithful come together for the Eucharistic assembly. But this involves real sacrifices. For Christians it is not normal that Sunday, the day of joyful celebration, should not also be a day of rest, and it is difficult for them to keep Sunday holy if they do not have enough free time.

“By contrast, the link between the Lord's Day and the day of rest in civil society has a meaning and importance which go beyond the distinctly Christian point of view. The alternation between work and rest, built into human nature, is willed by God himself, as appears in the creation story in the Book of Genesis (cf. 2:2-3; Ex 20:8-11): rest is something ‘sacred’, because it is man's way of withdrawing from the sometimes excessively demanding cycle of earthly tasks in order to renew his awareness that everything is the work of God. There is a risk that the prodigious power over creation which God gives to man can lead him to forget that God is the Creator upon whom everything depends. It is all the more urgent to recognize this dependence in our own time, when science and technology have so incredibly increased the power which man exercises through his work.

“Finally, it should not be forgotten that even in our own day work is very oppressive for many people, either because of miserable working conditions and long hours – especially in the poorer regions of the world -- or because of the persistence in economically more developed societies of too many cases of injustice and exploitation of man by man. When, through the centuries, she has made laws concerning Sunday rest, the Church has had in mind above all the work of servants and workers, certainly not because this work was any less worthy when compared to the spiritual requirements of Sunday observance, but rather because it needed greater regulation to lighten its burden and thus enable everyone to keep the Lord's Day holy. In this matter, my predecessor Pope Leo XIII in his Encyclical Rerum Novarum spoke of Sunday rest as a worker's right which the State must guarantee.

“In our own historical context there remains the obligation to ensure that everyone can enjoy the freedom, rest and relaxation which human dignity requires, together with the associated religious, family, cultural and interpersonal needs which are difficult to meet if there is no guarantee of at least one day of the week on which people can both rest and celebrate. Naturally, this right of workers to rest presupposes their right to work and, as we reflect on the question of the Christian understanding of Sunday, we cannot but recall with a deep sense of solidarity the hardship of countless men and women who, because of the lack of jobs, are forced to remain inactive on workdays as well.

“...Therefore, also in the particular circumstances of our own time, Christians will naturally strive to ensure that civil legislation respects their duty to keep Sunday holy. In any case, they are obliged in conscience to arrange their Sunday rest in a way which allows them to take part in the Eucharist, refraining from work and activities which are incompatible with the sanctification of the Lord's Day, with its characteristic joy and necessary rest for spirit and body.”(Pope John Paul II, in Dies Domini (To the Bishops, Clergy and Faithful of the Catholic Church on Keeping the Lord’s Day Holy), Apostolic Letter promulgated on May 31, 1998, Chapter IV, #64-67.

“...the Church has always taught that the overwhelming misery which oppresses men and their inclination towards evil and death cannot be understood apart from their connection with Adam's sin and the fact that he has transmitted to us a sin with which we are all born afflicted, a sin which is the 'death of the soul'.[291] Because of this certainty of faith, the Church baptizes for the remission of sins even tiny infants who have not committed personal sin....

“‘We therefore hold, with the Council of Trent, that original sin is transmitted with human nature, ‘by propagation, not by imitation’ and that it is. . . 'proper to each'" (Paul VI, CPG # 16).”  (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section Two, Article III & IV,  #403 & 419.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/visible4.html#DEATH).

"The spiritual disease that has infected all of us is sin...we are all in a sinful state because of the decision of Adam, the corporate head of the human race...by man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and as a result, all men sinned. That is, because of Adam's sin, all men became sinners.” (General Conference president Neal C. Wilson, in Adventist Review, June 28, 1990, p 8).

"We are all sinners, whether we have ever done anything ‘wrong’ or not. It is not sinning that makes us sinners. It is getting born that makes us sinners....We are born sinners, and we sin because we are sinners. We are not sinners because we sin!...Since we are sinners by nature, we of ourselves are never going to be able to produce any obedience." (Morris L. Venden, well-known SDA pastor and author, in Faith That Works, p 161-65).

"Man sins because he is sinful. He is not sinful because he sins...You don't have to sin to be sinful; all you have to do is get yourself born!(Morris L. Venden, in To Know God: A Five Day Plan, p 23).

"We are born sinful and subject to death--prior to lawbreaking...Clearly Adam's sin affected the race--constituted them sinners." (Issues: The Seventh-day Adventist Church and Certain Private Ministries, sponsored and authorized for publication by the North American Division Officers and Union Presidents of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, p 118).

"We are born sinners..." (Adult Sabbath School Lessons Quarterly, First Quarter, Lesson #5, January 23, 1983, p 35).

“Every man receives his eternal recompense in his immortal soul from the moment of his death in a particular judgment by Christ, the judge of the living and the dead....

“Those who die in God's grace and friendship imperfectly purified, although they are assured of their eternal salvation, undergo a purification after death, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of God(Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section Two, Article 12, Section VI, #1051 & 1054.http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/art12.html#HOPE).

The Bible states that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:20), not live forever. But the SDA church teaches that no one can overcome all sin in this life before Christ comes.  Yet God will not destroy you but will make you perfect and take you to heaven, giving you eternal life anyway. That is teaching the doctrine on the immortality of the soul, and of perfection being granted after death even though you were not ready for heaven!

"...I will always fall short of my potential....for those who are hungering and thirsting after righteousness...[are]striving after an elusive goal..." (Alden Thompson, professor of religion at Walla Walla SDA College, in Adventist Review, December 6, 1984, p 6).

"...if we die to sin at conversion, are we going to sin anymore?...We will continue to sin as Christians--not because we want to, but because we're human." (H.M.S. Richards, Jr., in Voice of Prophecy News, May, 1985, p 2).

“We will never reach sinless perfection in this life...” (R.S. Watts, Vice-President of the General Conference, in Review and Herald, May 19, 1966, p 4).

Seventh-day Adventist Church

“...your Romish doctors strain every nerve to persuade us that Scripture is imperfect...” (Chr. Wordsworth, D.D., in Letters to M. Gordon, p 81, cited in Source Book for Bible Students, p 87-88).

“VATICAN CITY, Italy - The Vatican criticized a literal interpretation of the Bible  and said the fundamentalist approach to scripture was a kind of intellectual suicide. A Vatican document said fundamentalism refuses to admit that the inspired Word of God has been expressed in human language... by human authors possessed of limited capacities and resources.

“The 125-page document, The Interpretation of the Bible in the Church, was written by the Pontifical Biblical Commission, a group of scholars who assist the Pope in the study of scripture. It noted that a fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible had been gaining strength. The Vatican is increasingly concerned about the number of Catholics, especially in Latin America, who have abandoned the church for fast-growing fundamentalist sects. The fundamentalist approach is dangerous, for it is attractive to people who look to the Bible for ready answers to the problems of life, the document said. Fundamentalism actually invites people to a kind of intellectual suicide. A fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible began during the Reformation, when Protestants showed an increasing concern for fidelity to the literal meaning of scripture.

“The document said fundamentalism refused to admit that there was a human element in the transmission of the Word of God. One member of the commission, Jesuit Father Joseph Fitzmeyer, said fundamentalists failed to recognize that several years elapsed between the time Jesus spoke and the time when the gospels were written. There was no stenographer, no one with a tape recorder on that time, said Fitzmeyer.” (The Star, Manila, Philippines, 1994, cited in Presents of God Ministry Website, see also Chicago Tribune, March 20, 1994, p 27.  The Document “The Interpretation of the Bible in the Church”, was written by the Pontifical Biblical Commission, on April 23, 1993,  http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/pcb_documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19930415_interpretazione_it.html).

After examining these major similarities between the Roman Catholic Church and the Seventh-day Adventist Church, what is the only possible conclusion that any honest-hearted and unprejudiced follower of Christ can come to?  We will let the Seventh-day Adventist Church leadership answer this pertinent question:

"...there is another universal and truly catholic organizationthe Seventh-day Adventist Church." (Neal C. Wilson, General Conference President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Adventist Review, March 5, 1981, p 3).

So what has the Seventh-day Adventist Church learned from the Roman Catholic Church?  Exactly how to image the Beast!

The SDA leadership have succeeded in forming the organizational structure of the SDA church into another Roman Catholic hierarchy.  They have made the General Conference President into another pope – the "first minister" "spiritual leader" "shepherd, guardian, guide and captain" of all SDA church members.  And they have succeeded in exchanging the truths of God’s word for the falsehoods of Romanism!  The SDA Church leadership have indeed entered into and has firmly established a “new organization", and the SDA people are being held captive within “another universal and truly catholic organization” with just the name “Seventh-day Adventist” covering it!  And what does God solemnly declare to all His people in regards to the beast or its image?

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name....

"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication...And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities." Revelation 14:9-11, 18:1-5.

May God help us all to make Him our Supreme Pastor, First Minister, Leader, Shepherd, Guardian, Guide and Captain in our lives.  May God help us to escape from all churches which image Roman Catholicism and instead join Christ and thereby become part of His true church. May God help us all to seek His grace and strength to unerringly follow His word and will, regardless of our own preferences or ideas.  And what is God’s will?

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." 2 Timothy 3:5.

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11.

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

"Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord." Isaiah 52:11.

“My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds (church leaders) have caused them to go astray...they have forgotten their resting place (in God alone)....Remove out of the midst of Babylon...Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity....My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the Lord.” Jeremiah 50:6, 8, 51:6, 45.

“In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from Heaven." (Ellen G. White, in Spirit of Prophecy, vol 4, p 424 or Great Controversy, p 606-607).

"I have a deep interest for every individual who is now making decisions to obey the word of the Lord. It is not the will or word of man that is to be received and believed, it is a “Thus saith the Lord.” The controversy is with the Lord" 21MR 193.1.

The path is narrow and few there be that find itFor the reasons stated above and because you are family, is WHY I have decided to share this information with you below. I have no idea how much you have studied this topic out.

Please keep these two quotes in mind as you read the information below:

"I saw that our message was not to the shepherds who have led the flock astray, but to the poor hungry, scattered sheep" PT March 1, 1850, par. 3.

"Men will feel as though they could rend in pieces the ministers who have preached falsehoods and condemned the truth" Last Day Events, p. 247.2.

"APPLIED KNOWLEDGE" MEANS TO BE "CONVERTED" or a "believer", a "sermon in shoes":

knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true serviceThe Ministry of Healing, p. 409.2; Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, pages 292, 293.

"Now as never before we need to understand the true science of education. If we fail to understand this we shall never have a place in the Kingdom of GodHome and Church School Manual, p. 6.2, Mrs. E. G. WhiteCLICK here to download a great study about this here.

"The science of true education is the truthThe third angel's message is truth" T. Vol. 6, p. 131.

What I am about to share with you IS A PART of the THIRD ANGEL'S MESSAGE, Rev 14:9-12:

"The third angel’s message (Rev 14:6-12 all three angels messages) has been sent forth to the world, warning men against receiving the mark of the beast or of his image in their foreheads or in their handsTo receive this mark means to come to the same decision as the beast has done, and to advocate the same ideas, in direct opposition to the Word of GodRH April 27, 1911, Art. B, par. 25SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 7 (EGW), p. 979.12RH July 13, 1897, par. 5.

"When the leading (see link501c3) churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the State to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result. {GC88 445.1}

May the only immortal God of Heaven in the name of His only Son bless you and keep you and your family safe during this great spiritual battle between Christ and Satan that we are all in.

"In the time of trouble, just previous to the coming of Christ, the lives of the righteous will be preserved through the ministration of holy angels. But there will be no security for the transgressor. Angels cannot then protect those who are living in neglect of a known duty or an express command of Jehovah." ST February 26, 1880, Art. A, par. 21

REPENTANCE AND OBEDIENCE ARE THE PRICE OF DELIVERANCE FROM THE ENEMY! Meekness is the Robe of Christ which means quiet cheerful obedience to the truth. Jesus is the Truth, the Way and Life. Christ cheerfully acquiesced to all His Father's commands, just as we should cheerfully acquiesce to all of Jesus's commands to us.

"Holiness is constant agreement with God" RH May 16, 1907, par. 4. "It is the beauty of holiness, a meek and quiet spirit, which is of value with God" The Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, p. 383.1. "There is only one path to Paradise restored,--the path of obedience" ST, January 25, 1910 par. 18.

Shall we not give up our sinsand let them go? Shall we not turn from them and hate them, and still remember that Christ regards His human agents as of great value? We cannot calculate the estimate placed upon the soul. Then take your eyes off yourself, and encourage hope and confidence in Christ. Let your hope not be centered in yourself, but in Him Who has entered within the vail (ref: Hebrews 10:16-20, 4:16, 6:17-20, 9:8-12).

Our hope of Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing, restoration) is an anchor to the soul, both sure and steadfast, when it entereth into that which is within the vail. Anchored in Christ, the soul, like a ship amid the raging elements, tempest-tossed and driven, is immovable. It is not driven on the rocks or drawn into the whirlpool.
"Wherefore didst thou doubt?" said Christ to the sinking Peter. The same question may be addressed to usWhy do we dishonor God with our shameful unbelief? The Lord has pledged Himself to give us strength to enable us to stand.
As we search the Scriptures, we find ground for confidence, provision for sufficiency. It is our privilege to say boldly, yet humbly, The Lord is my helper, therefore I shall not be moved from my steadfastness. My life is hid with Christ in God. Because He lives, I shall live also

Let us not think that Jesus is the Saviour of some one else, but that He is our personal friend. Entertain the precious thought that Jesus loves me. In this way the cloud of despondency and gloom will be rolled back from the soul, and we shall be enabled to make melody in our hearts unto God. We may triumph in the Lord, every day acknowledging the fact that our heavenly treasure, our everlasting portion, is sure to us through the atonement and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Believing this ourselves, we shall be able to aid others to see that their only help is in God, and encourage them to flee for refuge to Christ, laying hold on the hope set before us in the gospel!" - Review & Herald, June 9, 1896

Brother Ric, I would encourage you to watch this amazing video here:

What is Satan's Last Day Theology? Find out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGbNtCruBZU

Here are the verses for you to consider about the Bible stating plainly that there are TWO BEINGS, we should worship - we worship the Son of God because God has commanded us to worship Him - if we did not we would dishonor God:

1) "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9

2) If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated BOTH me and my Father. John 15:24

3) Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them BOTH. Zechariah 6:13

4) "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my wordsand my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." John 14:23 Notice this verse only mentions two beings.

(Ellen White warns, "The Father and the Son ALONE are to be exalted." {The Youth's Instructor, July 7, 1898 par.2})

To Paul:
Acts 28:22
But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."

Acts 28:23
They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.

This verse is one my girls and I are memorizing:

Acts 24:14 "But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call HERESY, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:"

2 Peter 2:2
Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the WAY of truth into disrepute.

WHO IS "THE WAY"? or called "A SECT" or "HERESY" also known as a "CULT"? Jesus "The Way"!!!

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but byME."

More about this here:

Elder Joseph Bates, who introduced the Sabbath to the Adventists via his meeting with Seventh Day Baptists, became a staunch Anti-Trinitarian: "Respecting the Trinity, I concluded that it was impossible for me to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, was also the Almighty God, the Father, one and the same being. I said to my father, If you can convince me [we] are one in this sense, that you are my father, and I your son, and also that I am your father, and you my son, then I can believe in the Trinity" . . . (Joseph Bates, The Autobiography of Elder Joseph Bates, Battle Creek, Michigan: Steam Press of the Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association, 1868).
If we accept the Trinity/SDA Triestic Doctrine - and if we claim that Ellen White supported and taught this doctrine - then we must THROW OUT the MANY statements made by her that: "the Saviour is our COMFORTER" (MR. vol. 8, p. 49) - PLEASE NOTE: that the term "COMFORTER" is uniquely reserved as a name for the HOLY SPIRIT (Christ HIMSELF referred to the Holy Spirit in this manner in John 14:16). Yet we have so many other SOP references stating clearly that the JESUS IS THE COMFORTER -- please note the following. "JESUS THE COMFORTER" (MR vol. 19, p. 298), ".this refers to the OMNIPRESENCE OF THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST CALLED THE COMFORTER" (MR vol. 14, p. 179), "CHRIST WAS THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH" (Southern Watchman, October 25, 1898; par. 2), "HE IS THE COMFORTER" (RH Jan. 27, 1903; par. 13) - [if that statement isn't plain enough, consider the following:]"THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HIMSELF [Christ] divested of the personality of Humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent" (MR vol. 14; p. 23, par. 3) - [can Ellen be any more precise than that - I mean, really, how can we ignore such a plain and unequivocal statement as that? But of course there are MORE! Which, we must throw out if we are to maintain our belief in the Trinity/Triestic doctrine. Are YOU willing to ignore such plain statements? -- Just because our "Leaders" INSIST on maintaining the Trinitarian position and doctrine?],"While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, HE is still by HIS SPIRIT the minister of the church on earth" (DA p. 166, par. 2), "Jesus is waiting to breathe upon all His disciples, and give them the inspiration of HIS SANCTIFYING SPIRIT and transfuse the vital influence from HIMSELF to His people. They must act with HIS SPIRIT, that it may be no more they that live, but CHRIST that liveth in themJesus is seeking to impress upon them the thought that in giving HIS HOLY SPIRIT He is giving to them the glory (glory=character=thoughts and feelings=power=influence) which the Father hath given Him, that He and His people may be one in God" (MR vol. 2, pp. 36,37), "Christ gives them the breath of HIS OWN SPIRIT, the life of His own life" (DA p. 827, par. 3) --- and MANY MORE. What are we to do with these statements?

Adventist historian J.N. Loughborough wrote, "What serious objection is there to the doctrine of the Trinity? There are many objections which we might urge, but on account of our limited space we shall reduce them to the three following: 1. It is contrary to common sense. 2. It is contrary to Scripture. 3. Its origin is Pagan and fabulous" (J.N. Loughborough, "Questions for Bro. Loughborough,"Review and Herald, XVIII, November 5, 1861, p. 184).

J.H. Waggoner wrote, "Surely, we say right, that the doctrine of the Trinity degrades the Atonement, by bringing the sacrifice, the blood of our purchase, down to the standard of Socinianism [denial of the divinity of Jesus]. . . .the Word was God, and also the Word was with God. Now it needs no proof indeed it is self-evident that the Word as God, was not the God whom he was with. And as there is but one God, the term must be used in reference to the Word in a subordinate sense, which is explained by Paul's calling the same pre-existent person the Son of God" (J.H. Waggoner, The Atonement, Oakland, California: Pacific Press, 1884, pp. 174, 153).

Socinianism, another form of Anti-Trinitarianism, says that Jesus did not pre-exist before His human birth, and had no part in the creation of man. Adventist researcher Jonathan Ross says that the Church of God, 7th Day (Meridian, Idaho group) is Socinian, as well as the House of Yahweh in Odessa, Texas, and the Church of God, Abrahamic Faith (Oregon, Illinois).

The Seventh-day Adventist 1889 Yearbook, under the article, "The Godhead," states, "That there is one God, a personal, spiritual Being, the Creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal, infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and mercy; unchangeable, and everywhere present by His representative, the Holy Spirit. That there is one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the eternal Father, the One by whom He created all things, and by whom they do exist."

"Liberty is the very essence of faith" The Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 4, p. 148.2.

"Faith claims God's promises, and brings forth fruit in obedienceThe Faith I Live By, p. 122.5.

Just where did the doctrine of the Trinity come from? Alexander Hislop, in his famous book, The Two Babylons, clearly traces the trinity doctrine back to ancient Babylon - the first trinity NIMROD, SEMIRAMIS and TAMMUZ it has simply been renamed into Biblical "SOUNDING" names today to deceive, IF it were possible the "very elect". In chapter two, "Objects of Worship," after 90 pages of historical evidence, Hislop concludes:

Baptized Paganism: "Will any one after this say that the Roman Catholic Church must still be called Christian, because it holds the doctrine of the Trinity? So did the Pagan Babylonians, so did the Egyptians, so do the Hindoos at this hour, in the very same sense in which Rome [the Catholic Church] does" (page 90).

The Worldwide Church answer to Hislop is to malign his scholarship. Yet other noted scholars, such as Frazer, confirm Hislop's accuracy. You are encouraged to read Hislop's The Two Babylons, available free to read in pdf format right here.

"STUDY THE 9TH CHAPTER OF EZEKIEL. THESE WORDS WILL BE LITERALLY FULFILLED; yet the time is passing, and the people are asleep. They refuse to humble their souls and to be converted. Not a great while longer will the Lord bear with the people who have such great and important truths revealed to them, but who refuse to bring these truths into their individual experience. The time is short. God is calling; will YOU hear? Will YOU receive His message? Will YOU be converted before it is too late? Soon, very soon, every case will be decided for eternity.         That message is found in Acts 2:38 and the 3 angels messages (Revelation 14:6-12/Rev 18:4/Matt 25:6/Lev 20:26) with special focus on the 7th day Bible Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11) being a final test for God’s people, just before the fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 upon the backslidden modern SDA 501c3 church and its members when the Sunday law degree goes forth.

I will say this to you, based on my studies: NO ONE WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE 501c3 SDA church today will help to give the Loud Cry message. We must come out of all 501c3 churches in order to follow Christ and JOIN the wedding party procession that has been in progress since 1844 into the Most Holy Place, the Bridegrooms Royal House that the 5 wise virgins JOIN and go into the house and the door is SHUT. The 5 wise virgins wake up TOO LATE and have no time to get the OIL/Holy Spirit/Characte of Christ/Words of Christ/Third Angels Message is the Loud Cry - it is joined by the FOURTH Angel at just the right time to give strength and power - this message will be rejected by the MAJORITY OF SDA'S TODAY - it talks of the corruptions that have been entering the SDA churches since 1844 and warning God's People to come OUT of it, like Lot was warned by the angels to come out of SODOM. Of THIS I am certain.

To those who GO OUT TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM will the message of Isaiah 60:1 be given.

Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 420: - “"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." Isa. 60:1. To those who go out to meet the Bridegroom is this message given.” {COL 420.3}

The fire that fell on the disciples in the upper room symbolizes the FERVENT ZEAL that God’s people will work for his CHARACTER and primitive Godliness to be perfectly reproduced in their lives and others.

"Characteristics of True Reformers.--Here [Isa. 8:11-14] are given the characteristics of those who shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of the third angel's message, these who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping people, and who honor God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the universe, in building up the old waste places. Who is it that calls them, The repairer of the breach, The restorers of paths to dwell in? It is God. Their names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22, 23] in heaven as reformers, restorers, as raising the foundations of many generations." E. G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, 1151.

"The Lord would have His people sound in the faith—not ignorant of the great salvation so abundantly provided for them. They are NOT to look forward, thinking that at some future time a great work is to be done for them; for the work is now complete. The believer is NOT called upon to make his peace with God; he never has nor ever can do this. He is to accept Christ as his peace, for with Christ is God and peace. Christ made an end of sin, bearing its heavy curse in His own body on the tree, and He hath taken away the curse from all those who believe in Him as a personal Saviour. He makes an end of the controlling power of sin in the heart, and the life and character of the believer testify to the genuine character of the grace of Christ. To those that ask Him, Jesus imparts the Holy Spirit; for it is necessary that every believer should be delivered from pollution, as well as from the curse and condemnation of the law. Through the work of the Holy Spirit (God & His Son's Spirit's combined=they will make their abode in us John 14:23), the sanctification of the truth, the believer becomes fitted for the courts of heaven; for Christ works within us, and His righteousness is upon us. Without this no soul will be entitled to heaven. We would not enjoy heaven unless qualified for its holy atmosphere by the influence of the Spirit and the righteousness of Christ." Selected Messages Book 1, p. 394.3

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

As long as probation continues, there will be opportunity for the canvasser to workWhen the (501c3=non-profit/tax-exempt) religious denominations unite with the papacy to oppress God’s people, places where there is religious freedom will be opened by evangelistic canvassing.”—6 Testimonies, 478:2.

As long as probation continues, there will be opportunity for the canvasser to work. When the religious denominations unite with the papacy to oppress God's people, places where there is religious freedom will be opened by evangelistic canvassing. If in one place the persecution becomes severe, let the workers do as Christ directed: "When they persecute you in one city, flee ye into another." If persecution comes there, go to still another place. God will lead his people, making them a blessing in many places. Were it not for persecution, they would not be so widely scattered abroad to proclaim the truthAnd Christ declares, "Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come." Until in heaven is spoken the word, "It is finished," there will be places for labor, and hearts to receive the message. {RH, October 7, 1902 par. 13}

Ellen White predicts: "This entire chapter (Revelation 13) is a revelation of what WILL [future tense] surely take place." 19MR 182.6 Manuscript Releases Volume Nineteen [Nos. 1360-1419], p. 182.6S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, p. 979.10

in Revelation, before Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed, God warned His people about the coming destruction. He pointed them to the prophecies of Daniel and urged them to study and understand them. Those who listened to His counsel escaped with their lives, but those who did not perished. They suffered the consequences of their choice. God had pleaded long and it was only with aching heart that He gave them up.

Just as Pharaoh did not relent when the plagues fell, so the unrepentant will not cease in their endeavors to destroy God's people. The crisis will escalate until it climaxes in the death decree against those who refuse to honor the Antichrist. The promises of God are, however, sure:

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it will not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plagues come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways (Psalms 91:5-11).

Letter 106, 1909, pp. 2, 3, 5, 7. (To "The churches in Oakland and Berkeley, September 26, 1909.)" E. G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One, p. 260.

"The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning; while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the terrors of the last great day [beginning at His Sanctuary]." E.G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 25, 1911 edition.

"Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus 'Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together." E. G. White, Testimonies, vol. 5, 211.

Brother/sister, here is a paper I prepared as I studied this topic out that you may find useful in understanding this terrible situation that as SDA's we find ourselves in:

Like Elijah asked the people on Mount Carmel - I am asking you: Are YOU On the LORD'S SIDE?

Click here to see my study on this topic: ARE YOU ON THE LORD'S SIDE

I know this is a lot to spring upon a person. I would like to hear your thoughts after you pray and contemplate what I've shared with you today.

Thanking and praising God for His wonderful goodness and mercy to me, I am,

RH Dec. 8, 1888: "Although your talents may be limited, God will accept them."

Ellen White says, "Those who become confused in their understanding of the word, who fail to see the meaning of antichrist, will surely place themselves on the side of antichrist." Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 7, 949. Now that is quite a prophecy. If you do not know who antichrist is, you are going to be with antichrist.

P.S. Here is another study I have compiled you may find interesting. You can open it here.

Here is a link to the scanned 1978 letter I mailed you that my Mom found in a old purse in her closet.

ere is a link to 3 pictures I've created about this serious issue affecting our eternal Salvation:

Spirit of Prophecy Volume 4. Also known as the Original Great Controversy 1884: “Protestantism will yet stretch HER hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of SPIRITUALISM, SHE will reach over the ABYSS to CLASP HANDS with the ROMAN POWER; and under the influence of this THREEFOLD UNION…” 1884 GC 405. (Read on to see how “Spiritualism” will “ENSNARE!”)

THE CHANGE: 1911 Great Controversy:

“THE PROTESTANTS of the United States will be FOREMOST in stretching hands across the GULF to GRASP the HAND of SPIRITUALISMTHEY will reach over the ABYSS to CLASP HANDS with the ROMAN POWER; and under the influence of this THREEFOLD UNION…” 1911 GC 588.

CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE? In spite of the fact that ROME has been playing footsie with SPIRIT MANIFESTATIONS- it is NOT “THEY” but “SHE” (APOSTATE PROTESTANTISM!) - that will “ASTOUND THE BEAST!” with the “MIRACLES” that they will be able to perform “BEFORE HIM!”

The place of GREATEST “LIGHT” -will be the PLACE of GREATEST “DARKNESS!”

In an effort to HIDE what the Prophetess did write about the END of the ADVENTIST CHURCH- This NEVER APPEARED in the REHASHED “TESTIMONIES TO MINISTERS.”

AMERICA, and especially BATTLE CREEK, where the GREATEST “LIGHT’ from Heaven has been SHINING upon the People, can become the PLACE of GREATEST PERIL and DARKNESS. Special Testimonies to Ministers and Workers. “Health Research Edition” p.122. {PH084 2.1}

SERIES A: {SpTA09 p.55.2} “ALL that refused to be taught of God, hold the TRADITIONS of men. THEY AT LAST pass over on the side of the ENEMY, against God, and are written: “ANTICHRIST” …Find in “ANTICHRIST” the center of their UNION. While the TWO PARTIES stand in COLLISION, the Lord will appear…”

     "The truth for this time, the third angel's message, is to be proclaimed with a loud voice as we approach the great final testThis test must come to the churches in connection with true medical missionary work." We are told that in time of trouble "there will be sick ones, plenty of them, that will need help" so because of the need, but also "for their own sake, they should, while they have opportunity, become intelligent in regard to disease, its causes, prevention and cure, and those who will do this will find a field of labor anywhere." C. H. 506.  {PH144 29.2}

“…as we approach the GREAT FINAL TEST. This TEST must come to the CHURCHES.. (What TEST?)

“We shall encounter false claims; false prophets will arise; there will be false dreams and false visions; but preach the Word, be not drawn away from the voice of God in His Word. Let nothing divert the mind. The wonderful, the marvelous, will be represented and presented. Through satanic delusions, wonderful miracles, (Like raising a person from the dead after they have suffered a heart attack? Giving them a triple bypass and giving them medication so that they can then continue to eat, drink and be merry?) the claims of human agents will be urged. Beware of all this.  {2SM 49.1}

     Christ has given warning, so that none need accept falsehood for truth. The only channel through which the Spirit operates is that of the truth. . . . Our faith and hope are founded, not in feeling, but in God.--Letter 12, 1894. {2SM 49.2}

True Medical missionary work is the opposite of “Cut, Burn and Poison” of the Spiritualism and witchcraft of Pharmakeia. “THIS TEST MUST COME TO THE CHURCHES…”  Page about the Warning Against the Dangers of Drugs

“God's Remedies.--There are MANY ways of practicing the healing art, but there is only one way that Heaven approves. God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature that will not tax or debilitate the system through their powerful properties. Pure air and water, cleanliness, a proper diet, purity of life, and a firm trust in God are remedies for the want of which thousands are dying; yet these remedies are going out of date because their skillful use requires work that the people do not appreciate. Fresh air, exercise, pure water, and clean, sweet premises are within the reach of all with but little expense; but drugs are expensive, both in the outlay of means and in the effect produced upon the system.--Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 443 (1885).  {2SM 287.3}

     Use the Simplest Remedies.--Nature will want some assistance to bring things to their proper condition, which may be found in the simplest remedies, especially in the use of nature's own furnished remedies--pure air, and with a precious knowledge of how to breathe; pure water, with a knowledge of how to apply it; plenty of sunlight in every room in the house if possible, and with an intelligent knowledge of what advantages are to be gained by its use. All these are powerful in their efficiency, and the patient who has obtained a knowledge of how to eat and dress healthfully, may live for comfort, for peace, for health; and will not be prevailed upon to put to his lips drugs, which, in the place of helping nature, paralyzes her powers. If the sick and suffering will do only as well as they know in regard to living out the principles of health reform perseveringly, then they will in nine cases out of ten recover from their ailments.--Medical Ministry, pp. 223, 224 (Manuscript 22, 1887).  {2SM 287.4}

Look again at the ORIGINAL 1884 Reference: “PROTESTANTISM will yet stretch HER (PROTESTANTISM) hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of SPIRITUALISM, SHE (PROTESTANTISM) will reach over the ABYSS to CLASP HANDS with the ROMAN POWER; and under the influence of this THREEFOLD UNION….” (Spiritualism is the snare)

Rev 18:23  And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy SORCERIES (SPIRITUALISM) were all nations deceived.

Rev 18:24  And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

SORCERIES: φαρμακεία pharmakeia far-mak-i'-ah

From G5332medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery, witchcraft, spiritualism.

Are we passing the test?
