How to Become a Member of God's Truth & Spirit Filled Church

John 3:16 is the gospel in miniature: "For God so LOVED the world, that HE GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." OUR ONLY WORK IS TO BELIEVE! Ask God what He would like for you to do for Him today. (Jeremiah 1:7)

"Those who take Christ at His word, and surrender their soul to His keeping, their lives to His ordering, will find peace and quietude. Nothing of the world can make them sad when Jesus makes them glad by His presence. In perfect acquiescence there is perfect peace." DA. 331.

"The thought that the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us, not because of any merit on our part, but as a free gift from God, is a precious thought. The enemy of God and man is not willing that this truth should be clearly presented; for he knows that if the people receive it fully, his power will be broken." {RH, December 24, 1908 par. 2}

2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord."

"...For the one who enters God's rest has himself rested from his own works, just as God did from his.” ISV Hebrews 4:4

Hebrews 4:9 "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God."

"For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life." (Rom. 5:10)

"Who is it that turns us from our iniquities? "Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." Acts 3:26

Who is the spirit that fills us? 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) "Now the Lord (Jesus) is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Learn more about the Holy Spirit here.

"It is Satan’s work to dethrone God from the heart (mind), and to mold human nature (character=thoughts and feelings) into his own image of deformity. He stirs up all evil propensities, awakening unholy passions and ambitions. He declares, All this power, these honors, and riches and sinful pleasures will I give thee; but his conditions are that integrity shall be yielded, conscience blunted. Thus he degrades the human faculties, and brings them into captivity to sin." RH February 10, 1903, par. 3, Messages to Young People, p. 54.3

"He who determines to enter the
spiritual kingdom will find that all the powers and passions of an unregenerate nature, backed by the forces of the kingdom of darkness, are arrayed against him. Selfishness and pride will make a stand against anything that would show them to be sinful. We cannot, of ourselves, conquer the evil desires and habits that strive for the mastery. We cannot overcome the mighty foe who holds us in his thrall. God alone can give us the victory. He desires us to have the mastery over ourselves, our own will and ways. But He cannot work in us without our consent and co-operation. The divine Spirit works through the faculties and powers given to man. Our energies are required to co-operate with God."

Luke 12:32 KJV "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Matthew 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by MY Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world." Ephesians 1:5 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself [God], according to the good pleasure of his [God] will," Ephesians 1:11 "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:" Romans 8:15 "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba [Daddy], Father."

OUR ONLY WORK IS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS, his saving power will help us want to plead for forgiveness of our sins, SURRENDER OUR WILL TO HIM COMPLETELY! IT IS THEN GOD WHO WORKS THRU US TO DO HIS WORK. We find ourselves magically doing His WORK, thinking His thoughts, singing His praises, all to the glory of God. Our only work is to keep believing. Crying to Jesus, Save me from myself! We are vessels for God only after we choose Him.

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:16-17

Until then we choose Jesus, we are automatically a vessel for Satan, no matter how hard we try to be good. Then, if we are tempted to sin, just shoot up a quick prayer to God, say, Save me from myself, or Jesus, Save me, as Peter did when starting to sink while walking on the water to Jesus. It works like magic. God's magic. Moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day, keep believing and when tempted, call for help from the living God. He WILL save us. He has promised. Only Believe!

The only hope for us if we would overcome is to unite our will to God's will and work in co-operation with Him, hour by hour and day by day. We cannot retain self and yet enter the kingdom of God. If we ever attain unto holiness, it will be through the renunciation of self and the reception of the mind of Christ. Pride and self-sufficiency must be crucified. Are we willing to pay the price required of us? Are we willing to have our will brought into perfect conformity to the will of God? Until we are willing, the transforming grace of God cannot be manifest upon us.

“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

(1 John 3:9) "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

Acts 3:26 (KJV) "Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him (Jesus) to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

We can live sin-free through Jesus living in us. He, Jesus is our NEW NATURE living in and shining out of us; after we believe in Jesus and repent of our sins, meaning we die to our OLD SINFUL NATURE, while Jesus LIVES IN US. When tempted to sin, cry to Jesus for help! IT HAPPENS INSTANTLY, as soon as you do it. God promises, we ask, and it happens, like magic. God's magic! God's word is TRUE! Our only work is to believe it happens instantly! If you don't believe it happens instantly, read this "Are You an Evolutionist"?

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Rom 6:14)

"But God does not live in the sinner. The Word declares that He abides only in the hearts of those who love Him and do righteousness. God does not abide in the heart of the sinner; it is the enemy who abides there." Sermons and Talks, Vol. 1 Manuscript 46, 1904, MR 900, p 343.

Again we notice the extremism of the word of God. There is little room here for misunderstanding. Not only is it difficult for a person in Christ to sin, but it is impossible. While His seed (God's seed, God's life) remains in him he cannot sin. What is it which gives him this life which sin cannot touch? Is it hard work? Is it diligent effort? Is it much struggling? Is it the long drawn-out process of character development which finally gets him to the place where he cannot sin? Absolutely not. It is the simple fact that he is born of God and that the seed of God is in him. This and this only is what destroys the power of sin in him and produces the righteous life and character of God. Again we see that this is not something which requires long drawn-out and agonizing struggles, but simply the faith which believes and accepts the word of God and by which we receive the gift of the new birth, the new existence in Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

"Many people have been longing and longing for a clean heart. They say, “I believe in the forgiveness of sin and all that and I would take it all, if I was sure that I could hold out, but there is so much evil in my heart and so many things to overcome that I do not have any confidence.” But there stands the word, “Create in me a clean heart.” A clean heart comes by creation and by no other means; and that creation is wrought by the word of God. For He says, “A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you.” [2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) "Now the Lord [Jesus, the very Life of Jesus] is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."; “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom 8:2)] Are you a creationist now or are you an evolutionist? Will you go out of this house with an evil heart or with a new heart created by the word of God, which has in it creative energy to produce a new heart? It speaks to you a new heart. To every one it speaks just that way, and if you allow a moment to pass between the speaking of the word and the new heart, you are an evolutionist. When you allow any time to pass between the word spoken and the fulfillment of that thing in your experience, then you are an evolutionist." "To have the religion of Christ means that you have absolutely surrendered your all to God, and consented to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit moral power will be given you, and not only will you have your former intrusted talents for the service of God, but their efficiency will be greatly multiplied. The surrender of all our powers to God greatly simplifies the problem of life. It weakens and cuts short a thousand struggles with the passions of the natural heart. Religion is as a golden cord that binds the souls of both youth and aged to Christ. Through it the willing and obedient are brought safely through dark and intricate paths to the city of God."

"We are not saved as a sect (i.e. Catholic or SDA or other church name); no denominational name has ANY VIRTUE to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 2, p. 464.

John 6:44 "No one can come to Me (Jesus) unless the Father (Jesus Daddy) who sent Me (Jesus) draws him; and I (Jesus) will raise him up at the last day."

No one has the ability to look into the human heart and see if a person is truly united to Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Meaning, we have asked forgiveness of our sins and believe that Jesus is God's only begotten Son, our old sinful nature is dead and buried, and we are born again, into our risen Saviour's new life; meaning God's Spirit lives in us thru our belief in Jesus; our NEW SINLESS NATURE HAS JESUS SHINING OUT OF US IN OUR THOUGHTS, WORDS, LOOKS, & ACTIONS.

"The victory is not won without much earnest prayer, without the humbling of self at every step. Our will is not to be forced into co-operation with divine agencies, but it must be voluntarily submitted. Were it possible to force upon you with a hundredfold greater intensity the influence of the Spirit of God, it would not make you a Christian, a fit subject for heaven. The stronghold of Satan would not be broken. The will must be placed on the side of God's will. You are not able, of yourself, to bring your purposes and desires and inclinations into submission to the will of God; but if you are "willing to be made willing," God will accomplish the work for you, even "casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5. Then you will "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure." Philippians 2:12, 13."

“But if the Spirit of him [the Father] that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (8) The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:7-8)

Woven in Heaven's loom

Only the covering which Christ Himself has provided can make us meet to appear in God's presence. This covering, the robe of His own righteousness, Christ will put upon every repenting, believing soul.. . . .This robe, woven in the loom of heaven, has in it not one thread of human devising. Christ in His humanity wrought out a perfect character, and this character He offers to impart to us. . . . .Everything that we of ourselves can do is defiled by sin. But the Son of God "was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin." . . . . By His perfect obedience He has made it possible for every human being to obey God's commandments. When we submit ourselves to Christ, the heart is united with His heart, the will is merged in His will, the mind becomes one with His mind, the thoughts are brought into captivity to Him; we live His life. This is what it means to be clothed with the garment of His righteousness. Then as the Lord looks upon us He sees, not the fig-leaf garment, not the nakedness and deformity of sin, but His own robe of righteousness, which is perfect obedience to the law of Jehovah. (COL - 311)

Jesus says, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." (Matthew 5: 17)

Doesn’t faith set aside the Law?

"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid; yea, we establish the law." (Romans 3:31)

But aren’t we saved by grace?

"By grace are ye saved through faith." (Ephesians 2:8)

Then why should we any longer observe the Law?

"Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" Romans 6:1,2)

I know Christians should not sin, but what does that have to do with the Law?

"Sin is the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4)

Which law do You mean Lord? Which law reveals sin?

"I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." (Romans 7:7) Note: the Law which reveals sin is the Ten Commandment Law.

God gives each of us a period of time on earth as probation. This probationary period is our opportunity to repent and to have faith in Christ. My probation and your probation will end sometime between now and the end of or around (2015=see Bible study here about this) and it may well be sooner rather than later. Whenever Jesus comes back, we must be ready in our hearts. OUR TIME may be tonight or whenever. But I do believe Jesus is coming back soon and it certainly could be by 2015. It fits...with a lot of things happening and other Bible studies also. Come Quickly Lord Jesus! Save us from OURSELVES!

The most important thing we can do right now is to give ourselves completely to God in humility and repentance and by faith to receive Jesus as our personal Savior.

Now is the time to seek God, while He may be found. Now is the time to repent. Today is the day to choose to receive Christ fully and to abide in Him.

No one else has had such a profound influence on Planet Earth as Jesus Christ. Jesus is the One who can satisfy the deepest yearnings of the human heart. The ultimate goal of all learning should be to understand more about our Creator-Redeemer and to reflect that understanding in our personal lives.

The Bible says in
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In Zachariah 4:6 it says "Not by mightnor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." In Romans 8:15 it says, "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba [Daddy], Father." Romans 8:14-16. In
Romans 8:23 it says, "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."

In Matthew 6:24 KJV says "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Only one master can live on the inside of a person, one master is either Christ, or the other master is Satan. Not both at the same time. “He that commiteth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning .” (1 John 3:8)

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1 John 3:9)

We cannot have our old selfish sinful nature and our new self-less sin-free nature, enabled only by BELIEVING in God’s GIFT to US in His Only Son JESUS Christ ruling at the same time. This is the absolute teaching of the word of God, your old sinful spirit must die before God’s Spirit thru Christ can live in us. With the indwelling Spirit of God in us, replacing the selfish sin filled spot thru belief in Jesus, God's Only Begotten Son. John 3:16 is so true. It is "the Gospel in miniature" Read it again!

This is the truth, brothers and sisters. Men do not overcome sin because they try hard to do what is right. They do not gain the victory by striving and struggling against temptation.

“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” (Rom 7:18)

Such methods are vain and frustrating. They can never lead to victory, because we cannot resist our natures. The only hope is that we may receive a new nature or a new life and this is what God gives us when He gives us His Holy Spirit. It is His own nature, His own perfect life which cannot be touched by sin.

Ellen G. White,in her book The Desire Of Ages, actually teaches that the entire earthly ministry of Christ was marked by a constant struggle on His part to avoid sinning.” Ellen White teaches that His refusal to commit sin was due to the enabling grace of God, rather than to the Impeccability of His Person.”

“Our Lord was tempted as man is tempted. He was capable of yielding to temptations, as are human beings.” (Ellen G. White, MS 57, Diary 1890, ‘The Humiliation of Christ’, Volume 16 MR No. 1211)

“If he did not have man's nature, he could not be our example. If he was not a partaker of our nature, he could not have been tempted as man has been. If it were not possible for him to yield to temptation, he could not be our helper. It was a solemn reality that Christ came to fight the battles as man, in man's behalf. His temptation and victory tell us that humanity must copy the Pattern; man must become a partaker of the divine nature.” (Ellen G. White, Review & Herald 18th February 1890, ‘How to meet a controverted point of doctrine’)

2 Peter 1:4 "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

Consider this: WHAT IF Jesus had sinned? The Bible says the wages of sin is death. He could not have risen again, and we would have: NO HOPE! What a Gift God has given us! God gave His ALL for us. Should we not accept His Gift of Jesus precious blood?

"The very first step in approaching God is to know and believe the love that He has to us (1 John 4:16); for it is through the drawing of His love that we are led to come to Him.

The perception of God's love works the renunciation of selfishness. In calling God our Father, we recognize all His children as our brethren. We are all a part of the great web of humanity, all members of one family. In our petitions we are to include our neighbors as well as ourselves. No one prays aright who seeks a blessing for himself alone." EGW, MB Chapter "The Lord's Prayer"

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom 8:2) 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." "And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."—Revelation 14:5."And I saw . . them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."—Revelation 15:2.

By letting go of humanity entirely, and trusting only in Christ. It is not our flesh which needs to change, but our spirit or our mind. What we need is God's spirit living in us because of our belief in Jesus our Saviour. So can we see? If what we need is a new spirit, where shall we obtain it? Shall we create it? Shall we develop it? Shall we produce it by a lifetime of effort? No, no, no! The Bible says that we can receive it ONLY as a gift from God.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Rom 6:14)

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)

Can you see the wonder of it brethren? In one stroke, simply by receiving the perfect life and existence of Jesus Christ, we enter into a relationship with God where we are given the gift of perfect righteousness and a perfect life!! All the barriers between us and God are totally removed. There is not a single reason why God should not listen to and respond to our prayers. In Jesus we have literally and truly partaken of the very life of God Himself! (1 Cor. 6:17,19). We have been made partakers of the divine nature and it is no wonder that the Bible says that we are “joint-heirs with Jesus.” (Rom. 8:17)

2 Peter 1:4 "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine naturehaving escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

In addition to these texts and many others, the testimony of the apostles of Christ was that they did live victorious lives. They were not slaves to sin, but conquered it in the strength of Christ. Paul could say,

“For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. (1 Cor 4:4, NKJV).

In his final moments he could say,

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: (2 Tim 4:7)

It is true that nobody can overcome sins unless he is aware that his actions are wrong, and the Bible makes it plain that God does not consider us to be guilty in performing wrong actions if we truly believe that in doing these actions we are doing God's will. True Christians may, and do commit sin unknowingly, however, such sins are not imputed to them and these sins do not make them rebels or sinners in God's eyes.

For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. (Rom 5:13)

However, it is certainly the will and purpose of the righteous God that all His children should immediately overcome every known sin and then walk continuously in that life of perfect victory as long as they live.

When a Christian today suggests that it is possible to live without committing sin, one of the first questions he is likely to be asked is, “do you know of anybody who is perfect? Have you overcome sin?” Inevitably, all he can do is hang his head and confess that though the Bible says that it is possible, he has not found the way and he knows of nobody who has found the way. Oh what a smear on the name of our God and the gospel of His Son Jesus Christ!

The apostle Paul (and all of us) encountered the power of that disease and found out how helpless he was to resist and overcome it. His testimony was,

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (Rom 7:14)

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (Rom 7:21)

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Rom 7:23)

Here he acknowledges that he was a slave, helpless, chained, ruled by another master named “sin,” having no power to control his own actions. This is our heritage, our destiny as the seed of Adam.

When we recognize the utter depravity of our Adamic nature, when we see our utter helplessness and worthlessness, then we will turn away from all self-effort, all self-dependence. Then we will truly repent, not just of our sins, but of the root of our sin problem – our master Satan inspired selfish life. (Satan is our Master UNTIL we CHOOSE to BELIEVE and GIVE our WILLS to JESUS.

We will then understand and believe that our only hope of ever living right lies in God's gift alone. All self-effort will be abandoned and we will cast ourselves upon Christ. It is then, and only then that true righteousness will appear in our lives as we allow Him full control, as we, by faith, accept and live by the reality that His life has become our life and that we are a part of His own righteous existence, thus we will live His perfect life. This is the truth, the simple truth of the word of God.

What a glorious truth. Oh may God help us to believe it, to know that it is nothing but the pure truth. When we believe it, not only will our lives be a revelation of the glory of God (not someday in the distant future, but this very moment) but every moment our lips and our hearts will sing the praises of God and His Son for the great, perfect and complete salvation which they have wrought for us.

You see then that there is nothing to stand in the way of God immediately healing the sick, raising the dead or manifesting the gifts of the spirit among us, as soon as we accept His gift of the righteous life of Christ. The latter rain for which we have waited so many decades is immediately at hand for those who are in Christ. It is no wonder that when this exact message came to the SDA Church in 1888, God's messenger declared,

“The time of test is just upon us, for the loud cry of the third angel has already begun in the revelation of the righteousness of Christ, the sin-pardoning Redeemer. This is the beginning of the light of the angel whose glory shall fill the whole earth. (RH, November 22, 1892 par. 7)

The question is, shall we embrace this truth with all our hearts? Will we accept in full faith, the wonderful reality that God has given us, in Jesus, the complete answer to the problem of sin? Will we acknowledge and live by the reality that it is His work and involves nothing of man's own work and that our only work/need is to believe and to keep on believing?

Words from the apostle Paul: What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; (Rom 9:30-32)

“The religion of Christ means much more than the forgiveness of sin. It means taking away our sins, and filling the vacuum with the Holy Spirit. It means divine illumination, rejoicing in God. It means a heart emptied of self, and blessed with the abiding presence of Christ.” (Ellen G. White, Bible Training School, 1st October 1908, ‘True Worship, see also Review and Herald 10th June 1902, ‘The promise of the Spirit and Review and Herald, 12th November 1914, Preparing for Christ’s return)

This is a supernatural work, it is something totally outside of man's ability and if we desire to obtain this new mind, we must receive it as a gift from Christ, purely by faith! ONLY BELIEVE in God’s ONLY Son Jesus! John 5:44 "How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?" Seek ONLY God's favor and approval. There is absolutely no other way.

Should we ask God or people for answers? The Bible says in Isaiah 2:22 “Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?” God says in Jeremiah 33:3 KJV “Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV) "Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Matthew 7:8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Ask God for answers!

No effort of man can make a sinner into a saint, no amount of discipline can change a carnal mind into a spiritual mind. It must be the exclusive work of God thru belief in Christ to us and then back to God.

The life in Christ

All the qualities which Jesus possesses are a part of OUR life. There is no sin, there is no condemnation in Him. This life is in Christ, on the right hand of God, the place of infinite power and privilege, far above all principalities and powers. These are the qualities which are an intrinsic part of this life of Christ. We don't need to struggle to obtain these wonderful things, they are already ours, present in Christ. The one question is, whose life do we have? That is the only question. Our deliverance and victory does not depend on what we have done, but on whose life we have inherited. We are already have Satan living in us unless we CHOOSE to BELIEVE in Jesus, and receive HIS LIFE in us.

“The righteous are represented as wondering what they have done for which they are to be so liberally rewarded. They had had the abiding presence of Christ in their hearts; they had been imbued with his Spirit, and without conscious effort on their part; they had been serving Christ in the person of his saints, and had thereby gained the sure reward.” (Ellen G. White. Review and Herald, 3rd July 1894, ‘Parable of the laborers)

The inward, effectual calling of the Spirit and the application of redemption to the human soul are all spiritual, unseen events. Further, the Holy Spirit gives genuine saving faith only to those who BELIEVE. The counterfeit faith of unregenerate professors of religion often is indiscernible to mere mortals. We can only perceive outward signs, statements and actions. Thoughts create Words, Words create Actions create Character, Character creates Destiny.

Some people who make a profession of faith and are baptized, are hypocrites. Such people do not truly believe in Christ (thus are never truly united to Him by faith) and are not part of the invisible church. Some, like a lot of us, just don't understand how faith works! Until we truly (with ALL our heart) seek God, we cannot be born again. We try to work our way to Heaven instead of BELIEVING!

But it is invisible only to us. It is not invisible to God. He who infallibly discerns the hearts of men, knows them that are his. "The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal: 'the Lord knoweth them that are his' (II Tim. 2:19). (2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.)  "Jesus prayed for the invisible church—the elect present and not yet born in John 17.

Enabling Power

HAVE you received that gift? All who receive Him are given power to be God's children. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John 1:12. You belong to God. He made you. So you are also His by creation. He redeemed you. So you are His by redemption. But He will not take you by force; you must choose to be His; you must acknowledge His rights, and your relationship. When you yield to Him, then you are His. See Romans 6:16. Just the moment that you surrender your life to His guidance, that very moment He takes control. Then it is a moment-by-moment walk with God. Led by Him, you are His child. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Romans 8:14.

Personal consecration is necessary, and we cannot have this unless heart holiness is cultivated and cherished.

Let your prayer be, "Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide with me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee." This is a daily matter.

The surrender of all our powers to God greatly simplifies the problem of life. It weakens and cuts short a thousand struggles with the passions of the natural heart. Religion is as a golden cord that binds the souls of both youth and aged to Christ. Through it the willing and obedient are brought safely through dark and intricate paths to the city of God. . . .  EGW

“Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature (creation)” (2 Cor. 5:17)

True proverb: 'A dog returns to his own vomit,' and, 'a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire'" (2 Pet. 2:22). A dog and a pig act according to their own nature. One can wash a pig and make it clean, but a pig is a pig. It will return to wallowing in the mud—in disgusting filth—because that is what pigs do. The apostle is saying that people who apostatize, who return to their former lifestyle, never had an interior work of the Holy Spirit. They were never regenerated and united to Christ. Their natures were never changed.

I hope you can truly say, "I finally get it! I am in Christ and His Spirit is in me revealing Christ in me. And as Paul says in Gal. 2:20, “...the life I now live I live by the faith of  the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me...for it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me.”  This is the best news ever!"

John 4:24 "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."

“He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 4:8 Jesus said, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Romans 8:9

“Finally, we know the Divine unity of the Father and the Son from the fact that both have the same Spirit. Paul, after saying that they that are in the flesh cannot please God, continues: “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Rom. 8:9. Here we find that the Holy Spirit is both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ.” (E. J. Waggoner, ‘Christ and His Righteousness’, page 23, 1890)

a. Jesus is the literal, true, only begotten Son of the one true God.

b. The holy spirit is literally an extension of the very life of God the Father and Jesus, His Son.

The first of these two truths, has made us appreciate the amazing height and depth and length and breadth of the love of God in giving His Son for us. However, it is the second of these truths which holds the key to the life of perfect victory and it is this truth which many of us have failed to fully grasp and appreciate. As Ellen White puts it,

“.... The Holy Spirit is Himself (Christ) divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent.” {14MR 23.3}

This is the text that refers to a person’s experience of conversion. It says, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit [ruach] will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit [ruach] within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” Ezekiel 36:26 -27

Notice two things happening here! One is that God renews our spirit and the other is that He puts His Spirit (the Holy Spirit) within us. “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:17

This passage of Scripture is describing what we usually term conversion, or as we sometimes say, ‘being born again’. It is a person becoming a ‘new creature’ – or to put it another way, God dwelling within us through His Holy Spirit (see 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15, 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 6:19 etc). Note very importantly that ‘ruach’ is used to refer to both the human spirit and God’s Spirit (the Holy Spirit).

At conversion, God does not renew our ‘spark’ of life or ‘energizing principle’. He renews the ‘inner man’ (our inner person). As the apostle Paul says, “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” Romans 7:6 As David put it,  “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit [ruach] within me.” Psalms 51:10

Jesus then said, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:18

Concerning Christ coming as the Comforter but not in bodily form, Ellen White wrote

“Then said the Jews unto Him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast Thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Then took they up stones to cast at Him" because of that saying [verses 57-59]. Christ was using the great name of God that was given to Moses to express the idea of the eternal presence.” (Ellen G. White, Manuscript No. 1084, February 18, 19th, 1895, page 21)

Two pages later we find these words

Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to His father, and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth.” (Ibid)

She then added

“The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent.” (Ibid)

The first truth teaches me that God loves me so much that He gave His Son FOR me. When I appreciate this, love for God is born in my heart. I want to serve Him, I am motivated to give my life completely to Him. The goodness of God leads me to repentance (Rom. 2:4).

The second truth teaches me that God gave His Son TO me, and that literally, the very life of His Son becomes my own life. When I understand, appreciate and believe this, total victory over sin becomes my reality!! (John 14:17; 2 Cor. 3:17; John 17:23)

I know that this is an extravagant claim, but brothers and sisters, we now hold the pearl of great price in our hands, don't we? Can there ever be any message which may truly be called a message of deliverance if it does not set us wholly free from sin's dominion? (Rom. 6:14).

Thank God, in the truth that the holy spirit is the very life of God and His Son, we have laid hold on the treasure which will bring all these realities together into perfect harmony and which will set the world alight with the glory of God!!

"Obey my voice, and I will be your God and you shall be my people, and walk in all the way that I command you" (Jer. 7:23). "Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." (Heb. 3:15) "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

What should I do? Should I go to a church that does NOT keep ALL the commandments? "Jesus saith unto him. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. " - John 14.6, Jesus is our Sheppard and HE WILL GUIDE US to God's Church, which is God alone. God will take the reins in HIS OWN HANDS in these last days. Study your Bible, keep the Bible Sabbath, Worship the God of the Bible. Obey the Ten Commandments. They have separated, not from the faith, but from all sin and apostasy, wherever it may be found. Follow God. Ask Him to guide you. He has a special plan just for you. Jesus said, “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.” Mark 14:38

Are you in SYNC with God & Jesus? Is Jesus King of your life? Are you addicted to GOD? No one can come to our Heavenly Daddy except thru His SON Jesus. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:9-11)

Remember, God is not a God of confusion. If you don't own a Bible, go buy a King James version Bible. Lot's of places even give out free Bibles. There is no excuse not to know the truth. If a church does not keep the ALL the commandments of God, the Bible says in Revelation 18:4 "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." This is the End Time Warning. We are living in the very last days of this earth's history. God has warned us. It's our own fault if we don't listen AND obey GOD. James 1:22 KJV "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."

“To hold yourselves aloof from an investigation of truth is not the way to carry out the Saviour's injunction to "search the Scriptures." (Ellen G. White, Testimonies on Sabbath School Work, 1900, page 65, ‘The Spirit of Investigation Essential’)

“The nature of the Holy Spirit is a mystery. Men cannot explain it, because the Lord has not revealed it to them.” (Ellen G. White, ‘Acts of the Apostles’ page 52, 1911)

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words: "The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17 Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus"  Rev. 14:12, Romans 15:6 “That ye may with one mind [and] one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”)

In John 1:51 Jesus said, “….Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”

What was Jesus saying here? It is plain that He was making reference to Jacob's dream and representing Himself as the ladder which Jacob saw. What He was really saying was that there is a portal, a meeting place between heaven and earth. Where is it? It is Jesus Christ Himself. There is a place where heaven interacts with earth; there is a meeting place where God is guaranteed to meet with humanity, and Jesus says, “it is me, I am the place where angels go up and come down, I am the place where God meets with man. I am the place where divinity and humanity are guaranteed to meet, I'm the place where, when you come, every time you are guaranteed to have an audience with God. Now, today we know that the true point of contact between God and man, is Christ.

Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, (2) instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. (Heb 6:1-2)

Have you put your hands in his hand? When you feel that God is far from you, remember his words, “ I will never leave thee or forsake thee.” Believe it because he cannot lie (Hebrew 6:18). Reach out to him and tell him you accept his hand and welcome his touch and presence. When we do, we will be able to say with surety and confidence

“He leadeth me! O blessed thought! O words with heavenly comfort fraught! Wha-e'er I do, wher-e'er I be, still ‘tis God's hand that leadeth me”

I know that what was true then is also true today. My prayer is that as we are touched and held by the Master's hand, we will reach out, touch someone else's hand, and share our experience.

Reach out and touch somebody's hand, make this world a better place if you can” Jesus did; he is our example. Think about this. Healing truly prevails when we are literally touched and are in-touch.

Ellen White predicted: "Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His Word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord's second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God's special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world" (The Great Controversy, p. 464).

"The world that Satan has claimed and has ruled over with cruel tyranny, the Son of God has, by one vast achievement, encircled in His love and connected again with the throne of Jehovah. Cherubim and seraphim, and the unnumbered hosts of all the unfallen worlds, sang anthems of praise to God and the Lamb when this triumph was assured. They rejoiced that the way of salvation had been opened to the fallen race and that the earth would be redeemed from the curse of sin. How much more should those rejoice who are the objects of such amazing love!

How can we ever be in doubt and uncertainty, and feel that we are orphans? It was in behalf of those who had transgressed the law that Jesus took upon Him human nature; He became like unto us, that we might have everlasting peace and assurance. We have an Advocate in the heavens, and whoever accepts Him as a personal Saviour is not left an orphan to bear the burden of his own sins.

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God." "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together." "It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." 1 John 3:2; Romans 8:17.

The infinite God, said Jesus, makes it your privilege to approach Him by the name of Father. Understand all that this implies. No earthly parent ever pleaded so earnestly with an erring child as He who made you pleads with the transgressor. No human, loving interest ever followed the impenitent with such tender invitations. God dwells in every abode; He hears every word that is spoken, listens to every prayer that is offered, tastes the sorrows and disappointments of every soul, regards the treatment that is given to father, mother, sister, friend, and neighbor. He cares for our necessities, and His love and mercy and grace are continually flowing to satisfy our need.

But if you call God your Father you acknowledge yourselves His children, to be guided by His wisdom and to be obedient in all things, knowing that His love is changeless. You will accept His plan for your life. As children of God, you will hold His honor, His character, His family, His work, as the objects of your highest interest. It will be your joy to recognize and honor your relation to your Father and to every member of His family. You will rejoice to do any act, however humble, that will tend to His glory or to the well-being of your kindred."  EGW, MB, "The Lord's Prayer"

To become a member of God's Spirit Filled Church means to become a friend of Jesus. It means becoming a son of God. There is no greater privilege that any human being can have. The Almighty God who created the great universe is willing to become our best Friend; to take your life in charge and to make sure that everything that you do from now on, is good and perfect. He will take you and make you into a new person, one who is upright, honest, clean, dependable, and full of the joy of life.

How can you become a Christian? It may be that your life is full of evil. It may be that you are a thief, a drunkard, a fornicator, a deep and desperate sinner - perhaps even a murderer! Or perhaps you are not what people would consider to be a great sinner. Perhaps all you do is tell a little lie sometimes, or talk a little foolishness, or perhaps get angry and lose your temper sometimes. But the truth still remains that you are separated from God. You are still the tool of Satan. If you do not allow God to control your life, then your master is Satan, and you are a slave. You need to be set free from the bondage of sin. Only Jesus can do that. You have only one hope, and that is to give your life completely to God. That is, to become a true spirit filled Christian. A member of God's invisible church. You can do this RIGHT NOW. It only takes a moment to become filled with God's Spirit, and to receive forgiveness for a lifetime of sin, no matter how small the sin or how great the sin.

The first thing which you need to do is to recognize your true condition. You must learn that you are a SINNER! That your life, as it is now is displeasing to God. Even if you live a life which seems to be good in the sight of people, yet the truth is that you are only deceiving yourself, and others. Deep in your heart, the well of pollution remains and it will keep on springing up, because there is no real good in any person, apart from God. You must realize that you are in danger of the judgment. The Almighty God, who is your Friend and who is pleading with you today to come to Him that you might have life, must be your judge one day soon. You, and every other human being must stand before the great white throne to hear His awful judgment on sin and sinners. What are the words which He will speak to you? Will it be, ‘‘Come ye blessed....inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the earth.’’? Or will you hear the words, ‘‘DEPART FROM ME YE CURSED INTO EVERLASTING FIRE PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS’’? Which will YOU hear? The question is, are you a friend of God? Deep down inside you know the answer. You also know that you need Him badly. Without Him, not only is your life a miserable failure today, but the day is fast-approaching when you must stand face to face with God and hear your condemnation, unless you give Him your life.

The next thing you must do is REPENT. To repent means to be genuinely sorry for your sins and to turn away from them. Now, you might ask, ‘‘How can I feel sorry for my sins? Can I make myself feel sorry?’’ Well, you must find somewhere where you can think, and talk to God. Somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed. Perhaps you may find some quiet spot in the bushes, or perhaps you might have to lock yourself in the bathroom. But it is important that you make the time to think and to pray. Do not run away from it. Face it. Think over your life and look at the things which you have done and are doing; all the sins which you have committed. Ask yourself the question honestly, ‘‘Is my life pleasing to God? Do I know Him as my best Friend?’’ Be honest with yourself. Do not try to hide from your true situation. The word of the Almighty God says that all who are not followers of Christ are lost sinners, with a spring of evil bubbling up inside, and fit only for destruction.

Think of how your sins have grieved God. Think how you have been ungrateful to the One who loves you best; who gave His life, and suffered more than you can ever imagine, so that you might have everlasting life. As Jesus hung on the cross dying, He was tempted to save His own life. He was tempted to put an end to His suffering; to leave the whole ungrateful race of men to be controlled and destroyed by Satan. But He did not. Do you know why? It was because He loved you. He thought of you. He knew that you would be born one day. He knew that you would have no hope. Nothing but a miserable life, no better than that of a dog, or a donkey or a cow, or any of these dumb animals. He knew, and His love for you was, and is stronger than death, and so, He bore the pain of Calvary. He allowed dirty, evil men to spit in His face and to mock Him, and to nail Him, stark naked upon a piece of wood and to hang Him up between heaven and earth. HE DID IT FOR YOU! Yes, it was for you. And yet, you have wounded Him by your ungratefulness. All your life you have served Satan. Are you not sorry for this? Will you not allow Him to make something worthwhile of your life? REPENT! Turn away from your evil deeds and serve the living God! Ask God, now, to help you to put away your sins forever. All of them, once and for all. Choose NOW to turn away from them. By God’s grace, make up your mind. He will give you the strength which you need.

The third thing you must do is CONSECRATE yourself to God. Get down on your knees. Humble yourself before God, the One who created you, the One who keeps your heart beating day by day. Get down on your knees and ask Him to forgive your sins and to take FULL and COMPLETE control of your life. Ask Him to take over your heart, soul, mind and body, and make up your mind that from now on and forever, the only purpose which you will have in this world, is to serve the living God. CHOOSE! CHOOSE THIS DAY, AND CHOOSE FOREVER! For, my dear friend, why do you want to die? Why should you live in sin and separation from God anymore? If you will pray with a true and sincere heart, then you can be sure that God will never disappoint you. All your life He has been waiting for this moment, drawing you to Himself and pleading with you. You will find that He will fill your life with peace and power. You will find the strength to do all the things which you could not do before. You will find the power to give up all your bad habits, because He who created you in the beginning will recreate you, a new creature. You will find that you have the power to resist your old friends when they invite you to join them in the old wrong deeds. POWER will be in your life. Yes! The power of the Almighty God. You do not need to worry about turning back to the old ways, for the One who calls you is able to save you to the uttermost. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will finish the work in you and make you into a new person. Pure, loving, upright and true. A true son of the Ruler of the Universe.

My dear friend, choose now. At this moment while the conviction is strong upon you, make up your mind. The devil is present to snatch the conviction away from you as soon as he is able. Make up your mind now! Do not allow these feelings to pass away from you as you go back to the old dirty ways of sin. Act now! NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION! See, the arms of the Father are open wide to receive you. Oh poor foolish sinner, will you reject Him again? Will you turn your back one more time upon the invitation to receive eternal life? Do not think of what your friends will say. Do not think of the things which you are leaving behind forever. Put your hand to the plow, and for God’s sake, never look back. Fools will laugh. They will mock and tease you, but they will sing a different song on the judgment day. Even now, they will never understand the peace and the happiness which you have. That is why they mock and laugh. Let them mock. You press on and never ever look back.
