It has taken decades, but medical professionals are finally starting to give diet and exercise for the prevention and reversal of type 2 diabetes some well-deserved attention.

"... the new study can give people with the disease hope that through lifestyle changes, they could end up getting off medication and likely lowering their risk of diabetes-related complications," Reuters Health reports.1

The research,2 also featured by MedPage Today,3 demonstrates that diet and physical activity are the answer diabetics have been searching for, which is exactly what I've been teaching since I started this web site, 16 years ago.

It's worth noting that I do not at all agree with some of the dietary recommendations given to the participants in this study.

The Only Way to Avoid and/or Reverse Diabetes

"Amazingly, one in four Americans has some form of diabetes or pre-diabetes. If this is not a clear sign that conventional health recommendations are flawed, I don't know what is. I too have personal experience with this disease. I developed it myself for a short while, when I tried to implement an Eat Right for Your Type program in the late 90s.

Additionally, most of my paternal relatives (my dad included), have, or have died from, diabetes. My personal experience with diabetes and subsequent review of the literature made it very clear to me that virtually every case of type 2 diabetes is reversible... 

And the cure for type 2 diabetes has nothing to do with giving insulin or taking drugs to control your blood sugar. In fact, giving insulin to someone with type 2 diabetes is one of the worst things that can be done.

The truth of the matter is that type 2 diabetes is a fully preventable condition that arises from faulty leptin signaling and insulin resistance, both of which are directly diet- and exercise-related. It is NOT a disease of blood sugar.

Once you understand that, the remedy becomes clear: To reverse the disease, you need to recover your body's insulin and leptin sensitivities. The ONLY way to accomplish this is through proper diet and exercise."


Do you know that when you do juicing that you should sip the juice and every mouthful or every swallow mix with saliva first then swallow it,  what they call chew the juice, or mix with the saliva then swallow, etc. some people call it 
swish.  Then no carrots or fruits juiced will not raise any sugar levels in the body.

Especially if a person has pancreatic problems, or takes insulin, or is diabetic. It is guaranteed not to raise any sugar levels if you mix every mouthful with your saliva and the good Lord gave us a cup and a half for every meal. I don't do it every time, but a lot.(that is what Dr. Christopher says).  He also says, even if you drank a quart of
juice-- which you are not going to do anyway -at a time.....

   I got a few golden delicious apples yesterday and I am going to juice 2 and put a small wedge of lemon in it.and try that for l thing,  Then I am going to take a Jona-licious (a mix of jonathan and red delicious) apple and shred it in my shredder and also have a tsp. of Blackstrap Molasses and also make some carrot, celery, apple juice too, maybe next hour then take my nettles, and herbal calcium and complete tissue & bone.

I believe many of our country's chronic health problems would simply disappear if greater attention was paid to the root problem — the food you eat.

Americans’ reliance on processed foods is a major factor that drives the rampant disease increases in the US, such as diabetes. According to a new report from the American Diabetes Association,1 an estimated 22.3 million people were living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes in 2012, up from 17.5 million in 2007.

But why do Americans buy so much processed food and junky snacks? Well, first of all, junk foods are heavily promoted by the US government via agricultural subsidies for crops like corn and soy.

Add to that misleading yet highly effective marketing, and — the focus of this article — the addictive nature of junk food, which is a science in and of itself.

In order to protect your health, I advise spending 90 percent of your food budget on whole foods, and only 10 percent on processed foods. Most Americans currently do the opposite, and this will undoubtedly have an effect on your health, especially in the long term.

The Food Industry's Role in America's Health Crisis

In the featured New York Times article,2 investigative reporter Michael Moss writes about the extraordinary science behind taste and junk food addiction, and how multinational food companies struggle to maintain their “stomach shares” in the face of mounting evidence that their foods are driving the health crisis.

In it, he mentions a 1999 meeting between 11 CEO’s in charge of America’s largest food companies, including Kraft, Nabisco, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, and Mars. He writes:

“James Behnke, a 55-year-old executive at Pillsbury... was anxious but also hopeful about the plan that he and a few other food-company executives had devised to engage the C.E.O.’s on America’s growing weight problem. ‘We were very concerned, and rightfully so, that obesity was becoming a major issue... [T]here was a lot of pressure on food companies.’

...[Behnke] was engaged in conversation with a group of food-science experts who were painting an increasingly grim picture of the public’s ability to cope with the industry’s formulations — from the body’s fragile controls on overeating to the hidden power of some processed foods to make people feel hungrier still. It was time, he and a handful of others felt, to warn the C.E.O.’s that their companies may have gone too far in creating and marketing products that posed the greatest health concerns.”

The Parallels Between Cigarettes and Junk Food

On that day in 1999, Michael Mudd, vice president of Kraft, did “the unthinkable” during his speech — he drew a connection between processed foods and cigarettes. We no longer condone cigarette ads for teens, having clearly established the health hazards associated with smoking, despite decades-long denials from the industry.

Yet we now blindly accept the same kind of misleading tactics being applied to junk food, even though the health ramificationsrival, if not surpass, those of smoking. Mudd presented a plan to address the obesity problem, which would help defuse the criticism building against the food industry.

In my view, the criticism was, and still is, justifiable. As just one example, General Mills created Yoplait that same year (1999), which “transformed traditional unsweetened breakfast yogurt into a veritable dessert,” to use Moss’ own words. In fact, Yoplait yoghurt contained 100 percent more sugar per serving than the company’s Lucky Charms cereal! Yet everyone recognized yoghurt as a wholesome food, and sales of Yoplait soared.

Mudd proposed employing scientists “to gain a deeper understanding of what was driving Americans to overeat.” Once they knew that, products could then be reformulated; salt, sugar and fat use could be reined in, and advertising could be repositioned. The 1999 meeting didn’t go well. It effectively ended when Stephen Sanger, head of General Mills, allegedly stated he would not jeopardize the sanctity of the recipes that had made his products so successful in order to appease the critics.

Fast-forward a decade and we now have novel biotech flavor companies like Senomyx, which specializes in helping companies do what Mudd proposed — finding new flavors to reduce sugar and salt content in processed foods.

These “flavor enhancers” are created using secret, patented processes, and they do not need to be listed on the food label. The lack of labeling requirements is particularly troublesome and will most likely become an issue in the future. As of now, they simply fall under the generic category of artificial and/or natural flavors. What this means is that the product will appear to be much “healthier” than it might otherwise be, were a flavor enhancer not used. The question is, are chemical flavor enhancers safe? Or are food companies simply exchanging one harmful substance for another? That remains to be seen.

The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food

Canadian and American obesity statistics are now neck-to-neck, with about one-quarter to one third of adults in the obese category. A staggering two-thirds of Americans are overweight. This in turn drives skyrocketing diabetes rates. According to the latest report from the American Diabetes Association,3 an estimated 22.3 million people were living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes in 2012, up from 17.5 million in 2007. Last year 246,000 deaths were attributed to diabetes. The UK also recently released updated statistics, showing a record three million Britons are now diagnosed with diabetes,4 which equates to 4.6 percent of the British population. Another 850,000 Britons are believed to have undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes.

The total cost of diagnosed diabetes in the US last year was $245 billion, a whopping 41 percent increase from the $174 billion spent in 2007.5 Obesity also drives rising rates of heart disease, kidney failure, gout, and blindness, just to name a few associated health problems, all of which contribute to soaring health care costs.

So who or what is to blame? As it turns out, poor will power is NOT the heart of the matter.

According to Moss’ four-year long investigation, interviewing more than 300 people in or formerly employed by the processed-food industry, there’s a conscious effort on behalf of food manufacturers to get you hooked on foods that are convenient and inexpensive to make. I recommend reading the featured article in its entirety, as it offers a series of case studies that shed light on the extraordinary science and marketing tactics that make junk food so hard to resist.

Finding Your Bliss Point

Moss’ work also resulted in the book Salt Sugar Fat, in which he dissects the $1 trillion processed food industry. Sugar, salt and fat are the top three substances making processed foods so addictive. In a Time Magazine interview6 discussing his book, Moss says:

“One of the things that really surprised me was how concerted and targeted the effort is by food companies to hit the magical formulation. Take sugar for example. The optimum amount of sugar in a product became known as the 'bliss point.' Food inventors and scientists spend a huge amount of time formulating the perfect amount of sugar that will send us over the moon, and send products flying off the shelves. It is the process they've engineered that struck me as really stunning.

When it came to fat, it was the amazing role of what the industry calls the 'mouth feel.' That's the warm, gooey taste of cheese, or the bite into a crisp fried chicken that you get. It rushes right to the same pleasure centers of the brain that sugar does...

When it comes to salt, what was really staggering to me is that the industry itself is totally hooked on salt. It is this miracle ingredient that solves all of their problems. There is the flavor burst to the salt itself, but it also serves as a preservative so foods can stay on the shelves for months. It also masks a lot of the off-notes in flavors that are inherent to processed foods.”

One of the guiding principles for the processed food industry is known as “sensory-specific satiety.” Moss describes this as “the tendency for big, distinct flavors to overwhelm your brain, which responds by depressing your desire to have more.” The greatest successes, whether beverages or foods, owe their “craveability” to complex formulas that pique your taste buds just enough, without overwhelming them, thereby overriding your brain’s inclination to say “enough.”

“Vanishing calorie density” is another term used to describe foods that melt in your mouth, which has the effect of making your brain think it doesn’t contain any calories. End result — you keep eating. Cheetos is one such example. In all, potato chips are among the most addictive junk foods on the market, containing all three bliss-inducing ingredients: sugar (from the potato), salt and fat. One 2011 study cited by Moss determined that the top contributors to Americans weight gain included red meat, processed meats, sugar-sweetened beverages, potatoes, and topping the list: potato chips.

“The coating of salt, the fat content that rewards the brain with instant feelings of pleasure, the sugar that exists not as an additive but in the starch of the potato itself — all of this combines to make it the perfect addictive food,” Moss writes.

Sugar — One of the Most Addictive Substances Known

While food companies abhor the word “addiction” in reference to their products, scientists have discovered that sugar, in particular, is just that. In fact, sugar is more addictive than cocaine. Research7 published in 2007 showed that 94 percent of rats who were allowed to choose mutually-exclusively between sugar water and cocaine, chose sugar. Even rats who were addicted to cocaine quickly switched their preference to sugar, once it was offered as a choice. The rats were also more willing to work for sugar than for cocaine.

The researchers speculate that the sweet receptors (two protein receptors located on the tongue), which evolved in ancestral times when the diet was very low in sugar, have not adapted to modern times’ high-sugar consumption. Therefore, the abnormally high stimulation of these receptors by sugar-rich diets generates excessive reward signals in your brain, which have the potential to override normal self-control mechanisms, and thus lead to addiction.

Even more interesting, their research found that there’s also a cross-tolerance and a cross-dependence between sugars and addictive drugs. As an example, animals with a long history of sugar consumption actually became tolerant (desensitized) to the analgesic effects of morphine. Today, prescription pain killers have surpassed illegal drugs as the preferred “high,” and pharmaceutical drug overdoses now rank second only to motor vehicle crashes as the leading cause of accidental death in the US. Unfortunately, since it’s all legal, no one is really cracking down on this growing drug problem that is wrecking lives each day. According to Moss:8

“[T]he food industry defends itself by saying true narcotic addiction has certain technical thresholds that you just don't find in food addiction. It's true, but in some ways getting unhooked on foods is harder than getting unhooked on narcotics, because you can't go cold turkey. You can't just stop eating.”

It’s important to realize that added sugar (typically in the form of high fructose corn syrup) is not confined to junky snack foods. For example, most of Prego’s spaghetti sauces have one common feature, and that is sugar — it’s the second largest ingredient, right after tomatoes. A half-cup of Prego Traditional contains the equivalent of more than two teaspoons of sugar.

The Federal government is fine with mercury-laced corn syrup. And MSG which creates micro-lesions on the brains of kids is A-OK with them.

Two Moms Take on Kraft

In related news, two moms have taken on Kraft. They started an online petition, calling for the food giant to remove two artificial food ingredients, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, from its Macaroni and Cheese. These artificial dyes have been linked to hyperactivity in children, and are banned for use in the UK. More than 220,000 signatures have been collected so far. Kraft’s response?

“... in the US, we only use colors that are approved and deemed safe for food use by the Food and Drug Administration.”

Troubled Meats Get a Makeover

Another food many don’t automatically view as health-harming is processed meats. Moss includes the case story of Bob Drane, vice president of Oscar Meyer, who in 1985 was tasked with figuring out how to contemporize their processed meat offerings. Interviews with harried mothers revealed that the most important issue for them was time, which resulted in the development of a convenient prepackaged lunch containing the company’s pre-sliced bologna and ham, better known as Lunchables. A later line of the lunch trays, called Maxed Out, contained, two-thirds of the maximum recommended sodium allowance for kids, and a staggering 13 teaspoons of sugar.

The Atlantic9 recently reported that “consuming processed meat went along with other unhealthful lifestyle choices, such as eating few fruits and vegetables, being more likely to smoke and, for men, consuming large quantities of alcohol.”

The new study, which reconfirms results from previous studies, found processed meat consumption was strongly associated with premature death.10 According to the researchers, reducing daily processed meat consumption to less than 20 grams a day could reduce mortality rates across Europe by three percent annually. This includes bacon, sausage of all kinds, sandwich meats (cold cuts), and any other processed “meat product.”

In 2011, the World Cancer Research Fund came to the sobering conclusion that no one should eat processed meats, ever, due to its cancer-causing potential. Hot dogs, bacon, salami and other processed meats may also increase your risk ofdiabetes by 50 percent, and lower your lung function and increase your risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A 2007 analysis by WCRF found that eating just one sausage a day can significantly raise your risk of bowel cancer. Specifically, 1.8 ounces of processed meat daily -- about one sausage or three pieces of bacon -- raises the likelihood of the cancer by 20 percent. What Do Processed Food Company Executives Eat?

Another interesting tidbit offered up by Moss is the eating habits of the food scientists and processed food company executives themselves, whom he met while researching his book. Just like many of our American Presidents, they apparently know more about maintaining their own health than they want you to know about.

Last year, I wrote about political supporters of genetically engineered (GE) foods insisting on all organic fare for themselves and their families while promoting unlabeled GE foods for everyone else. This includes President Obama, who vowed to label GMO’s if elected, but then spent the first four years appointing one Monsanto shill after another into key federal positions that wield near-absolute power over agricultural issues, and never took affirmative action on the labeling issue, even during the height of the California Prop 37 campaign. In the same vein, Moss discovered that many of the food executives and scientists he met avoid their own foods for a variety of health reasons:

“It was everything from a former top scientist at Kraft saying he used to maintain his weight by jogging, and then he blew out his knee and couldn't exercise, his solution was to avoid sugar and all caloric drinks, including all the Kool-Aid and sugary drinks that Kraft makes,” Moss says.

“It ranged from him to the former top scientist at Frito Lay. I spent days at his house going over documents relating to his efforts at Frito Lay to push the company to cut back on salt. He served me plain, cooked oatmeal and raw asparagus for lunch. We toured his kitchen, and he did not have one single processed food product in his cupboards or refrigerator.

...One reason they don't eat their own products, is that they know better. They know about the addictive properties of sugar, salt and fat. As insiders, they know too much. I think a lot of them have come to feel badly...”

As Moss says, it’s not that these companies have the demise of your health as a defined business goal. But they do want you to buy their product, and the more the better. Taste is a major, if not overriding factor here, and processed food without generous amounts of sugar, salt and unhealthy fats (like trans fat) would simply be too unpalatable to most. So while some companies, such as Kraft, have tried to alter their formulas to make them “healthier,” the fact remains that processed food is inferior to the real thing no matter how you finagle it. You simply cannot compete with the nutrition found in whole, unprocessed foods.

“Ultimately, they ran into the problem that the whole industry faces, which is the huge pressure from Wall Street and the investment community to increase profits,” Moss says.

How to Eat Real Food on a Budget

This concerted effort by the industry is further enhanced by stimulating your metabolism to burn carbs as its primary fuel. As long as you are in primary carb-burning mode you will strongly crave these types of foods. But once you start decreasing your carbs and protein and replace them with high quality fats, and start to engage in intermittent fasting, your cravings for these junk foods, no matter how cleverly enhanced, will dramatically diminish, if not vanish altogether.

In order to protect your health, I believe you should spend 90 percent of your food budget on whole foods, and only 10 percent on processed foods (unfortunately most Americans currently do the opposite). This requires three strategies, especially if you're working with a tight budget:

  • Become resourceful: This is an area where your grandmother can be a wealth of information, as how to use up every morsel of food and stretch out a good meal was common knowledge to generations past. What I mean is getting back to the basics of cooking --  using up leftovers and so on.
  • Plan your meals: This is essential, as you will need to be prepared for mealtimes in advance to be successful for if you fail to plan, by default you are planning to fail. Ideally this will involve scouting out your local farmer's markets for in-season produce that is priced to sell, and planning your meals accordingly, but you can also use this same premise with supermarket sales. You can generally plan a week of meals at a time, make sure you have all ingredients necessary on hand, and then do any prep work you can ahead of time so that dinner is easy to prepare if you're short on time in the evenings.
  • Avoid food waste: According to a study published in the journal PloS One,11 Americans waste an estimated 1,400 calories of food per person, each and every day. The two steps above will help you to mitigate food waste in your home, You may also have seen my article from earlier this year titled 14 Ways to Save Money on Groceries. Among those tips are suggestions for keeping your groceries fresher, longer, and I suggest reviewing those tips now.

When choosing real foods to feed your family, remember that some of the healthiest foods are incredibly affordable, even under $1 a serving, such as:

A few adverse reactions and side effects of aspartame are:  

•Psychological/Psychiatric – severe depression, irritability, aggression, anxiety, personality changes, insomnia, phobias.

•Gastrointestinal – nausea, diarrhea (sometimes with blood in stools), abdominal pain, pain when swallowing.

•Skin and Allergies – itching without a rash, lip and mouth reactions, hives, aggravated respiratory allergies such as asthma.

•Chest – palpitations, tachycardia, shortness of breath, recent high blood pressure.

•Neurologic – epileptic seizures, headaches, migraines and (some severe) dizziness, unsteadiness, confusion, memory loss, severe drowsiness and sleepiness, paresthesia or numbness of the limbs, severe slurring of speech, severe hyperactivity and restless legs, atypical facial pain, severe tremors.

•Other symptoms – frequency of voiding and burning during urination, excessive thirst, fluid retention, leg swelling and bloating.

Here's a list of the top most dangerous artificial sweeteners, along with information about what's in them and the negative impact they can have on your health. From most dangerous to least:

1. Aspartame

What's in it: Phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol.

Reported side effects: Headaches, fibromyalgia, anxiety, memory loss, arthritis, abdominal pain, nausea, depression, heart palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome, seizures, neurological disorders, vision problems, brain tumors and weight gain.

Concerns: Phenylalanine and aspartic acid directly impact brain and central nervous system functions; evidence shows they play a role in mood disorders, memory problems and other neurological illnesses.

Methanol is converted into formaldehyde when metabolized.  Makers of aspartame say methanol and its byproducts are quickly excreted.  But research has found measurable amounts of formaldehyde in the livers, kidneys and brains of test subjects after ingestion of aspartame.

At high temperatures, phenylalnine breaks down into diketopiperazine (DPK), a known carcinogen. Phenylalnine is especially dangerous for people with the hereditary disease, phenylketonuria.

2. Aceslulfame-K

What's in it: Acesulfame-K is a potassium salt containing methylene chloride, a known carcinogen.

Reported side effects: Long term exposure to methylene chloride can cause nausea, headaches, mood problems, impairment of the liver and kidneys, problems with eyesight and possibly cancer. Acesulfame-K may contribute to hypoglemica. 

Concerns: Of all artificial sweeteners, acesulfame-K has undergone the least scientific scrutiny. Early studies showed a potential link between the sweetener and development of multiple cancers in laboratory animals. 

3. Sucralose

What's in it: Sucralose is a synthetic additive created by chlorinating sugar. Manufacturers say the chlorine in sucralose is no different from that in table salt. Fact: the chemical structure of the chlorine in sucralose is almost the same as that in the now-banned pesticide DDT.

Reported side effects: Head and muscle aches, stomach cramps and diarrhea, bladder issues, skin irritation, dizziness and inflammation.

Concerns: Research has shown sucralose can cause shrinking of the thymus gland, an important immune system regulator, and liver and kidney dysfunction. A recent study by Duke University found sucralose reduces healthy intestinal bacteria, which are needed for proper digestion and can impact the effectiveness of prescription and other drugs.

4. Saccharin

What's in it: Saccharin is a sulfa-based sweetener; its primary ingredient is benzoic sulfimide.

Reported side effects: For those with sulfa allergies, saccharin may cause nausea, diarrhea, skin problems or other allergy-related symptoms.

Concerns: Early safety studies of saccharin showed the sweetener caused bladder cancer in rats. The FDA recently lifted the requirement that saccharin be labeled as a probable carcinogen on food packaging. 

The link between saccharin and bladder cancer has contributed to saccharin being the most investigated of all artificial sweeteners.

Got diet milk? In a highly controversial move, the dairy industry wants to market artificially sweetened milk—without any special label to alert consumers.

In a petition filed with the FDA, the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) seek to change the definition of “milk” so that chemical sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose can be used as optional ingredients not listed on the product label.

If the petition—originally filed in 2009 and now under consideration by the FDA—is successful, these hidden additives could also be included in 17 other dairy products—including whipping cream, low-fat and non-fat yogurt, eggnog, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, and half-and-half—without requiring any special labeling.

The dairy industry contends that using artificial sweeteners like aspartame as optional ingredients in milk and other dairy foods without any special labeling would “promote more healthy eating” and boost kid appeal. Currently, milk consumption is dropping among both children and adults.

In part, the petition states:

IDFA and NMPF argue that nutrient content claims such as "reduced calorie" are not attractive to children and maintain that consumers can more easily identify the overall nutritional value of milk products that are flavored with non-nutritive sweeteners if the labels do not include such claims. Further, the petitioners assert that consumers do not recognize milk—including flavored milk—as necessarily containing sugar. Accordingly, the petitioners state that milk flavored with non-nutritive sweeteners should be labeled as milk without further claims so that consumers can "more easily identify its overall nutritional value.”

The goal of the petition is to persuade the FDA to drop a requirement that milk and other dairy products be labeled as “artificially sweetened” if they contain aspartame or other calorie-free sugar substitutes. Last week, the FDA asked the public to submit comments and data about using artificial sweeteners in dairy foods. So far, there is no FDA ruling on the petition.

Currently, dairy producers can label products as “milk” if they are unsweetened or contain sweeteners with calories, such as high-fructose syrup or sugar, according to the Huffington Post. Examples of sweetened dairy products include chocolate or strawberry milk and flavored yogurts.

In addition, aspartame and other chemical sweeteners can currently be used in dairy products as long as they are clearly labeled accordingly.

Health Risks of Diet Drinks and Aspartame

Aspartame is a chemical sweetener that’s widely used in diet soda and other low-cal foods, including yogurt. It’s about 200 times sweeter than sugar and was originally sold under the brand name NutraSweet. At least 90 countries have declared it safe, but several new and recent studies link artificially sweetened drinks (particularly soda) to a wide range of health threats.

While not yet carved in scientific stone, the emerging evidence is disturbing. Here’s a rundown:

  • Higher risk for type 2 diabetes. While the link between sugar-laden drinks and diabetes is well-known, a new study by French researchers also finds thatsugar-free soft drinks also boost the threat. The study, to be published inAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition, tracked 66,118 women over a period of 14 years. While sipping both diet and regular soda magnified risk, the diet drinkers had higher risk for diabetes. However, this type of study is not designed to prove a cause-and-effect relationship.

  • Link with depression. A new study funded by the National Institutes of Health, involving more than 260,000 adults ages 50 to 71, surveyed beverage drinking habits. Ten years later, the participants were asked if they had been diagnosed with depression. Those who reported swilling four or more cans of soda daily were 30 percent more likely to develop depression than those who shunned soda. Overall, risk was higher in people who drank any of the diet beverages studied (soda, iced tea, and fruit drinks), compared to those who sipped the full-calorie versions. Drinking unsweetened coffee, on the other hand, was linked to a 10 percent lower rate of the mood disorder, prompting the researchers to recommend dieting and grabbing a cup of joe.
  • Heart Attack and Stroke: Drinking diet sodas daily may increase the risks for heart attack and stroke and other vascular events by 43 percent, but no such threat exists with regular soft drinks or with less frequent consumption of diet soda. These results come from a study including more than 2,500 adults published online in the Journal of General Internal Medicine on January 30, 2012. So far, no one knows what it is about diet sodas that could explain the added risk.

  • Kidney Trouble: In 2009, researchers at Harvard found that drinking two or more diet sodas daily could lead to a 30 percent drop in a measure of kidney function in women. No accelerated decline was seen in women who drank less than two diet sodas daily. The drop held true even after the researchers accounted for age, high blood pressure, diabetes, and physical activity.
  • Preterm Delivery: Danish study including more than 59,000 women found a link between drinking one or more diet sodas daily and a 38 percent increase in the risk of giving birth to preterm babies; the risk was 78 percent higher among pregnant women who drank four or more diet sodas daily. No such risk was seen with regular soda.

What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?

  • Weight Gain: Wouldn't it be ironic if instead of helping you lose weight, diet drinks had the opposite effect? A study at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio found that compared to those who drank no diet sodas, study participants who did had a 70 percent greater increase in waist circumference; worse, drinking two or more diet sodas daily led to ballooning waist circumference that was 500 percent greater than those who drank none. This doesn't prove that diet soda is to blame since the study was observationalit could be that participants began gaining weight and then started drinking diet sodas.

Who Should Avoid Stevia?

I want to emphasize, however, that if you have insulin issues, I suggest that you avoid sweeteners altogether, including Stevia, as they all can decrease your sensitivity to insulin.  

So if you struggle with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or extra weight, then you have insulin sensitivity issues and would benefit from avoiding ALL sweeteners.

But for everyone else, if you are going to sweeten your foods and beverages anyway, I strongly encourage you to consider using regular Stevia until the safety of each individual Stevia compound has been thoroughly assessed.

Lo Han or monk fruit is another natural no calorie sweetener that can also be used.

Sprouted foods are a convenient way to have fresh vegetables for salads (or juice the sprouts in a V8 type fresh veggie drink), or otherwise, in any season and can be germinated at home or produced industrially. What Are Some of the Highest Alkaline Foods?

High Alkaline FoodsCreating an alkaline environment in the body means consuming high alkaline foods regularly. The goal is to eat 80% of our diet from foods containing these properties to ensure a pH between 7.2-7.4.

While there are many alkaline food lists, let’s take a look at some of the best choices in the fruit, vegetable, grain and legume groups, that help support an alkaline system.

Alkaline Fruits

Most fruits make the high alkaline food list. In addition to their alkalizing properties fruits offer many other benefits.

How To Walk Your Way Back To Health

For over 20 yearsI, along with our team here at Hallelujah Acres, have been telling people who desire to improve their health that the very best and fastest way to achieve that goal is to change what they eat and begin exercising.

The diet change that we have been promoting all these years encourages a person to stop consuming the Standard American Diet (SAD) of cooked food that has been the primary cause of their physical problems and to begin consuming a predominantly raw, plant-based diet that promotes the restoration of their health.

Millions of people around the world have made this diet change and experienced the elimination of most of their physical and psychological problems. Tens of thousands of them have reported relief from over 170 different problems as a result of this simple change in lifestyle, and they say that they don’t get sick anymore.

Sadly, there are those individuals who have found themselves, for one reason or another, unable to make this diet change. The result? They continue to experience deteriorating health, often becoming so discouraged that they have thrown in the towel, so to speak, and given up all hope of ever regaining their health.

I am convinced beyond a doubt that eating living (raw) plant-sourced foods, including an abundance of raw vegetable juices, is the very best and fastest way to restore the body to wellness. Our body is a living organism, comprised of living cells and designed by God to be nourished with the living (raw), plant-sourced foods grown in a garden.

Exercise alone cannot heal. If a person desires to totally restore wellness to their body, it will require a change from the diet that causes physical and psychological problems to a diet of living food. This change will not only eliminate the cause of those previous problems, it will also provide the body with nutrients necessary to rebuild the cell structure of the body, including the immune system.

5 Ways to Restore Your Health

Here are five ways the foods on The Hallelujah Diet help restore health:

  1. Living, plant-sourced foods along with large amounts of raw vegetable juices will begin to normalize body weight and increase energy if a person is overweight.

7 Steps to a Walking Program

What I am going to share next is for those who want to begin their journey back to health with a walking program. It is also what I recommend for all of those who adopt The Hallelujah Diet because as much as a simple diet change will begin to improve health, it must be combined with exercise if one is to obtain the very best results.

Walking can become the catalyst for unbelievably wonderful and exciting benefits. Simply going outdoors and walking in the fresh air can become the turning point in your journey back to health.

  1. Step one is to get a good pair of comfortable walking shoes.
  2. Figure out a measured mile distance to walk – this could be around the block four times or even up and down the driveway 40 times.
  3. Time yourself.
  4. Keep a record – Record the time it took to walk that mile in a journal.
  5. Go beyond your comfort level. The next day, walk that same mile again, only try to walk it a little faster. Record the time. Each subsequent day, you should try and decrease the time it takes to walk that mile until you can walk 1 mile in 15 minutes (speed: 4 mph).
  6. Increase the distance – When you can walk a mile in 15 minutes, increase the distance to 2 miles and walk those 2 miles each day until you can walk two miles in 30 minutes (two 15-minute miles)
  7. Build on your success – After achieving 2 miles in 30 minutes, stretch your daily walk to 3 miles in 45 minutes. Your final goal is to walk 4 miles in one hour.

If the weather, neighborhood pets, or an unsafe environment preclude you from walking outdoors, there are often malls available for safe walking.

Where there is a will, there is a way!

Experts Recommend 20 Minutes of Exercise Every Other Day

Personally, I do not consider 20 minutes of exercise every other day to be adequate to restore and maintain health. Most of our forefathers were farmers and did physical labors for as many as 16 hours each and every day. Rhonda and I personally try to get in at least 60 minutes of aerobic exercise every day.

Most days we walk at least 2 miles, at a fast pace, in both the afternoon and evening hours. In addition I work out on my Fit10 portable fitness equipment doing both stretching and resistance exercisesmost every day. Fast walking increases oxygen intake while the resistance and stretching exercises along with the walking helps build and strengthen muscles.

Fast walking also helps to build and strengthen the heart muscle, the most important muscle in the body. If the heart muscle is not kept healthy and strong through aerobic exercise and superior nutrition, it will be unable to pump that life-giving, oxygen-filled blood throughout the body. And remember, the Bible says:

“The life of the flesh is in the blood.” 
- Leviticus 17:11

Bouncy Alternative to Walking – A Mini-Trampoline

If bad weather or an unfriendly environment prevents walking outdoors, and visiting the mall is not an option, there are other ways to easily accomplish an exercise program. One way is with a mini-trampoline.

A mini-trampoline allows you to have as vigorous a workout as you want, right in your home, day or night. Another of the benefits of a mini-trampoline is that it minimizes jarring of the skeletal system and joints. It also promotes lymph movement which helps the body eliminate toxins and prevent toxic build-up.

Tips for Your Mini-Trampoline Workout

A good way to begin a workout on a mini-trampoline is to mount it and just begin a slow bounce without removing your feet from the mat. Then slowly increase the speed and height of the bounce and begin breaking into a slow and easy walk. From this point you can go very easily into a more aerobic mode by beginning a slow jog, and then into a faster and faster jog as you increase speed and height of knees.

An easy way to increase the benefits of your mini-trampoline workout is by holding a one- to five-pound weight in each hand. For an even more exhilarating workout, light weights can be placed around each ankle. Each time you place additional weight on the body, you increase the effectiveness of the workout.

A mini-trampoline can give a person an excellent aerobic workout in their own home. A guard rail to hold onto is even available on most models for those who are unsteady on their feet. Plus, in addition to walking and jogging exercises, the mini-trampoline offers the potential for other workout moves including jumping jacks, sit-ups, etc

Keep It Simple and Affordable

At Hallelujah Acres, we like to keep things as simple and as affordable as possible. That applies to The Hallelujah Diet, itself, as well as our exercise program.

One can spend a lot of money outfitting a home gym. Treadmills, elliptical machines, stair climbers, and other pieces of exercise equipment can cost in the thousands of dollars. But what I have outlined above is a very inexpensive means of having an incredible workout, and the pieces of exercise equipment I recommend combined, cost only a few hundred dollars.

Walking Shoes – A good, well-made pair costs less than $100. Go to a reputable shoe store to make sure that you know your correct size and width.

Fit 10 – The next item I recommend is the Fit 10 exercise system which also costs less than $100. This inexpensive piece of equipment will build muscle in just five minutes a day, and in an additional five minutes, you can perform stretching and aerobic exercises as well.

Mini Trampoline – Like my other recommendations, the Urban Rebounding mini-trampoline costs less than $100, too. A more expensive, but superior-built mini-trampoline costing more than $100 is the Needak Rebounder.

If you cannot afford the purchase of any equipment, don’t let that deter you. Just get some weights you can carry in your hands or on your ankles as you walk to increase the aerobic workout. Even carrying a can of beans from your pantry in each hand while you walk will help.

Why Are The American People So Unhealthy?

It’s amazing.  With all the scientific and medical knowledge we have accumulated and all the monies we have spent on so-called health care — and continue to spend in ever greater amounts — the health of the American people isn’t getting better.  In fact, instead of improving, it continues to decline!

Is this failure to improve the health of the American people due to ignorance, or just might there, perhaps, be another reason? Think about that for a moment.  Yes, let’s spend just a minute or two to think about the state of health of the American people.

Of all the industrialized nations of the world, the United States claims to have the greatest health care system in the world.  America spends more per capita on health care than any other industrialized nation in the world, yet the health of the American people ranks among the lowest in the world.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Why Is the Picture So Wrong?

Have you ever wondered why with all our resources…why with all our government funding…why with insurance companies…and why with a greater number of people on healthcare…why aren’t Americans the healthiest people in the world?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) will force every American, whether they want to participate in it or not, to enroll in a plan that has nothing to do with health.  That’s because there is nothing in the ACA that promotes health or the prevention of sickness.

Rather, the entire Act revolves around how physical problems will be treated after they occur.

In other words, every American, will be forced into a system that has already proven to be a complete failure. And for vivid proof that it is a failure, just for a moment, take a look at the health of the people.

Could the reason that the American people are not experiencing health be because legislators who are in charge of the health care industry are being influenced by special interest groups who profit from sickness? Think about it for a moment – if there were no sick people to treat it sure would hurt the profits of those in the health care business.

Are our citizens beginning to realize that government-mandated health care is not the best way to bring health to the American people? There are encouraging signs! 

On November 28, 2012, the NewsMax Wire service  published this headline:  “Gallup: Majority Say Health Coverage not Government’s Responsibility.”  The article went on to say:

“A majority of Americans believe the government shouldn’t be responsible for making sure that all citizens have health insurance, according to a Gallup poll.”

Are the American people finally beginning to realize that government health care is not the solution to the physical ills of the people? Are they beginning to understand that…

“The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” (1 Corinthians 3:19)

A Picture of Health

Is there a “better way” than the world’s way to deal with the physical ills of the American people? I sayabsolutely…and I have been proclaiming that “better way” for over 20 years

That “better way” is what I would like to devote the rest of this Health Tip to.

Here at Hallelujah Acres we don’t have access to endless research dollars or vast teams of medical researchers — and yet we have found a way to nearly eliminate sickness from not only the people of American but people everywhere.

Millions of people across America and around the world have adopted The Hallelujah Diet and, as a result, have recovered from over 170 different physical problems, including terminal, metastasized cancers. Better still, once these people recover from these ills they don’t get sick anymore.

How can this be?

Getting to the Root of the Problem

Concerning health care, we need a paradigm (or lateral) shift. (Make lateral shifts in the foods you choose to eat  - like: find a replacement good alternative for the "bad" food or habit choice we now make) Rather than focusing on sickness and constantly trying to come up with new ways to treat sickness, we need to focus on wellness and the cause of sickness.

Once we can determine the cause of sickness, it is possible to eliminate that cause.  And once the cause of sickness has been eliminated, sickness, itself, will simply cease to exist.

In a recent Health Tip, I shared that when the Affordable Health Care Act was being debated before Congress (2009), Democrat Senator Tom Harkin had a great deal to say about that piece of legislation. Here are a few exerts from his speech:

“Many of our legislators are in the pocket of some of the big businesses in the Health Care Industry who stand to profit greatly in the treatment of disease, while other legislators see the Health Care Reform legislation as an opportunity to gain even more political power and ever more control over the people.

. . . . The fact is we do not have a health care system in the United States; we have a sick care system. If you’re sick, you get care, whether through insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, community health centers, emergency rooms, or charity. The problem is that this is all about patching things up after people develop serious illnesses and chronic conditions. . . .

Consider this: Right now, some 75-percent of health care costs are accounted for by heart disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and obesity. What these five diseases have in common is that they are largely preventable and even reversible by changes in nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle.”

4 Facts You Need to Know

#1 – Nearly 10% of Health Spending Is for Obesity

That was the headline for an Associated Press article dated July 28, 2009 and published in many of the nation’s newspapers.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Obesity’s not just dangerous, it’s expensive. New research shows medical spending averages $1,400 more a year for an obese person than for someone who’s normal weight.
  • Overall, obesity-related health spending reaches $147 billion, double what it was nearly a decade ago
  • Two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese

The story notes that it’s not an individual problem, but a societal problem – as the nation’s health bill illustrates

  • On average, health bills for a normal-weight person are about $3,400 a year, but that rises to$4,870 for someone who’s obese
  • Obesity related conditions now account for 9.1% of all medical spending                                   

Here’s something else you need to know:

#2 – Smoking is the Greatest Source of Preventable Physical Problems

The American Lung Association reports that approximately 8.6 million people in the U.S. have at least one serious illness caused by smoking. The list of diseases caused by smoking includes:

  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema)
  • coronary heart disease
  • stroke
  • abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • acute myeloid leukemia
  • cataracts
  • pneumonia
  • periodontitis
  • bladder, esophageal, laryngeal, lung, oral, throat, cervical, kidney, stomach, and pancreatic cancers

Smoking by parents is also associated with a wide range of adverse effects in their children, including:

  • exacerbation of asthma
  • increased frequency of colds and ear infections
  • sudden infant death syndrome

Secondhand smoke causes more than an estimated 202,000 asthma episodes, 790,000 physician visits for buildup of fluid in the middle ear, and 430 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) cases each year.

That brings us to this third piece of information:

#3 – Refined Sugar Consumption Causes Physical Problems

Research reveals that refined sugar suppresses the immune system, a system God placed in our bodies to protect it from germs, viruses, and bacteria. A person with a suppressed immune system will have little resistance to colds, the flu, pneumonia, and so much more.

As a result of my personally stopping the consumption of refined sugar 37 years ago, I have been able to keep my immune system so strong and protective, that I haven’t experienced the flu, sore throat, or even a cold even one time since.

It turns out that bacteria (both good and bad) have a very sophisticated way of communicating with each other, and once they receive the signal that their numbers are sufficient to carry out their genetic function, they launch into action as a synchronized unit.

This lets them both coordinate their defenses and/or mount attacks—a fact that has stunning implications for medicine. For example, new medicines that interfere with this line of communication between dangerous bacteria could provide a revolutionary new form of antibiotics.

Since bacteria are single-celled organisms, they have only one string of DNA. Hence they contain very few genes, which encode the traits they're supposed to carry out. The way bacteria multiply is by consuming nutrients from their environment, grow to twice their size, and then divide down the middle. We've known for some time that once bacteria reach a critical mass, they can overwhelm your immune system. But no one understood the mechanism behind it, until now...

How Bacteria Communicate

Researchers have discovered that bacteria communicate with each other using a chemical language called "quorum sensing." As it turns out, every type of bacteria make and secrete small molecules. When a bacterium is alone, these molecules simply float away. But when there's a large enough group of bacteria, these secreted molecules increase in proportion to the number of bacteria emitting them. When the molecules reach a certain amount, the bacteria can tell how many neighbors it has, and suddenly all the bacteria begin to act as a synchronized group, based on the group behavior programmed into its genes.

But that's not all. Not only do bacteria communicate in this way between their own species; they're all "multi-lingual," and can determine the presence and strength of other bacterial colonies!

Heavenly Father, I enter by faith today into death with the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.  I appropriate all of the benefit of the crucifixion which is mine because of my union with Christ.  I count myself dead to my old fleshly nature  and all of its workings through my union with Christ at the cross.  I recognize that my old nature always wants to resurrect itself against You 
and Your will for my life, but I will to let it remain dead in death with my Lord on the cross.  I am thankful that this absolute truth can be my subjective experience.  I recognize that appropriating the death of my flesh is an essential step to victory over these fleshly temptations which buffet me.   Amen.

Look at this verse, Isaiah 42:16. “And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.” How does God do this? To bring one from darkness to light is by the revelation of God’s Word. Christ told Paul that he was sending him to preach the gospel to “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God,” (Acts 26:18). 2 Peter 1:19 puts it this way, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” That is because God’s word is the light. Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light.” The Word of God brings light into the mind. That which is contrary to the word of God is darkness and blindness of the mind. 2 Corinthians 4:4  brings these two things together. “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

God has promised:

The Bible is beautiful in it’s formation, because it actually represents what should be inside our mind/temple in the words of a book.

Solomon’s temple was a template for the Human body as a temple which worships God.

John 2

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

The Ark of the Covenant is made out of gold, so ingesting (studying the Bible & praying) elements or white powdered gold ( bread from Heaven, (Jesus) manna )   should help your Pineal gland to function properly. The Pineal gland is a natural receiver and transmitter of electromagnetic frequencies, and if you have ate the bread and drank the wine that Jesus talked about then you have turned the Pineal gland into an Ark of the Covenant in your skull. This opens up your third eye or your spiritual eyes that Jesus talked about many times. 

Now let’s break down the image of the Ark. Two Cherubim’s faced each other on top of the lid. But what’s significant here is that the wings of the Cherubim are spread over the ark, covering and protecting what lies beneath. There is one on the left and one on the right. Now consider that your brain is made up of a left and right hemisphere. The covering of your brain is the cerebrum. So just as the Cherubim covered something significant inside the ark (the brain) so too does the left and right cerebrum cover some very important glands that serve as a link between our physical and spiritual natures. One such component is the pineal gland, also known as the third eye. Matthew 6:22  "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."

Even as Jesus was crucified at Golgotha (the place of the skull), representing part of the ascension process that takes place in your head, so too does the Ark. And in order to truly commune with God, that communion must take place within the confines of your mind. As we’ll soon see, communing with God means to become one with God - that His choices, His desires also BECOME our choices, our desires! It has much more to do with becoming ONE with something much bigger than you! You worship me, walk with me, put your hand in mine, get your heart in tune with me and I will give you the privilege of moving with me. The God and Father of Jesus says, "Let me take care of my own business! What I have promised is my business, and I will take care of it. I have not failed in all of this time. Not even one of my words has failed in all of my good promises."

As Jesus said stated: “that all of them may be one , Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us…” (John 17:21).

Next time you breathe, instead of visualizing your breath going into your lungs, picture it moving the wings of the butterfly bone. 

The serpent implied to Eve that there was knowledge withheld from her by Her Creator and that this knowledge would open her eyes and she'd come to be like a god - knowing good and evil. And that she wouldn't die.

Unfortunately, what she didn't understand was that yes, she would die (the soul that sinneth it shall die - what is sin? transgression of God's Ten Commandments, and that the Tree of Life would be placed under guard. God testifies that "His commandments are not grievous. The commandments of God are not grievous. They are not more than we can bear. They do not require what is impossible for us to do. WE HAVE TO ASK GOD FOR HIS SPIRIT (HIMSELF) TO BE IMPARTED TO US THROUGH JESUS SO WE CAN BE ENABLED TO OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS; IT IS FUTILE WITHOUT HIS ENABLING POWER TO OBEY. John 4:24 "God is a Spiritand they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." There is ONE SPIRIT (GOD HIMSELF) Sent to us through His Son to live in our minds.

Ephesians 4:4 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;"

Man doesn't learn. Man still thinks that their Creator hides things from them and man still thinks that the serpent is the path to enlightenment. Man still seeks to build his own tower into the Heavens because man is rebellious to His very own Creator. Man still insists that man will become god by his own hands.

So inside the Ark of the Covenant we have:

1.Golden Pot containing "Manna" 
2.Aaron's rod that budded, 
3.Two tablets of the covenant.

When you decipher them , you get:
Moses actually means "to bring out of the water"
Moses= MoshehMo in Egyptian means water.
So Moses actually refers to blood.
Meaning the water that flows in your body, which is blood.
Aaron's rod= God's Spirit sent through His Son to us, His power/energy. 
Two tablets of the Covenant= The two lobes of the pituitary gland

These two tablets contained the Ten Commandments.
Ten Commandments = Ten hormones released into your pituitary gland.

Touch the side of your head with your fingers.
That's your 'temple'. A temple on either side!!!
Enter the temple, and within it, is where your GOD resides.

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple (church) of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"

WHAT we NEED is The Faith of Jesus! The “righteousness” of our Saviour appropriated (Take (something) for one's own use) to us by FAITH!!!

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the Commandments of GOD, and the faith of Jesus . . .Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may Rest from their labours; and their works do follow them . . . !” Revelation 14:12-13

But so few have looked to the Life of Christ and by faith learned to appropriate (take/accept) it as their own!

Christ's victories are all ours, BY FAITH. Victory to overcome appetite, pride of life, lust of the flesh, all sinful things! By faith, positive anticipation, trust in God & His Son, we can claim Christ's victories for our very own victories! 

Christ's own sinless life can be OURS by FAITH!

He did it! It is OURS, NOW, by Faith! Ask God in the name of His Son to give you His Son's sinless life - make HIS victories our OWN victories! 

It is like He won the prize, now we get to use the prize as our very own, just by believing, by FAITH.  

2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

1 John 3:5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.

By FAITH, Lord Jesus I grasp a hold of you and your garment of righteousness, your victories. Like the women who touched your garment and was healed, so I now reach out and touch the hem of your garment so I can be healed of my sins, so that you can take away my sins. Please, Lord Jesus, make me an over-comer of all besetting sins like you were tempted of and overcame. Please, I beg and entreat you to let me use YOUR victories to claim as my own. Thank you Lord Jesus for hearing and answering my prayer. Now believe it is so. According to thy faith, so be it unto you. Oh Lord, give me your Faith also, a living Faith.

This is where many of us err. We don't believe we can instantly be perfect or sin-free, we doubt God's Word and Power. We think, Oh, "I" will TRY to do what is right, I will work, work, work at it.

"The thought that the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us, not because of any merit on our part, but as a free gift from God, is a precious thought. The enemy of God and man is not willing that this truth should be clearly presented; for he knows that if the people receive it fully, his power will be broken." {RH, December 24, 1908 par. 2}

God has made provision that we may become like unto Him, and He will accomplish this for all who do not interpose a perverse will and thus frustrate His grace.From Devotional: Our Father Cares, p. 205.

"Just here is a point on which many may err, and hence they fail of receiving the help that Christ desires to give themThey think that they cannot come to Christ unless they first repent, and that repentance prepares for the forgiveness of their sins. It is true that repentance does precede the forgiveness of sins; for it is only the broken and contrite heart that will feel the need of a Saviour. But must the sinner wait till he has repented before he can come to Jesus? Is repentance to be made an obstacle between the sinner and the Saviour?

The Bible does not teach that the sinner must repent before he can heed the invitation of Christ, "Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28. It is the virtue that goes forth from Christ, that leads to genuine repentance. Peter made the matter clear in his statement to the Israelites when he said, "Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." Acts 5:31. We can no more repent without the Spirit of Christ to awaken the conscience than we can be pardoned without Christ." { SC 26.2}

Many from a sincere heart, looking to Christ, say: “I know that He did itbut how can I?” They believe that Christ won Eternal Life, and the right to be raised again from the dead because of His strict adherence to the law. And knowing this, they then fall back in fear and doubt, as they see their own lives marred with the stains and record of sins. Listen to the Words of our Saviour . . .

“Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions (rebellion, revolt, apostasy) and our sins be upon us, and we pine away (are consumed) in them, How should we then live? And it is for this reason that He is called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS !

For He won the victory for both Jew and Gentile, those who were under the law, and those who have sinned without the (instruction of the) Law. For there is none righteous, no not one . . .“That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God . . . !

Therefore by the deeds of the law

there shall no flesh be justified (declared innocent, righteous and holy) in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now, the Righteousness of GOD without (aside from) the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets . . . . Even the Righteousness of GOD which is by the Faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference . . . !” Romans 3:19-22

Knowing that a man is not justified (declared innocent, righteous or holy) by the works of the law, but by the Faith of Jesus Christ (Yehushua ha Moshiac) . . . . "Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church," Comments on Matthew 18:20. "Where two or three are present who love and obey the commandments of God, Jesus there presides, let it be in the desolate place of the earth, in the wilderness, in the city enclosed in prison walls." (The Upward Look, page 315, emphasis supplied).

Notice that the church is not "the national establishment," and it is "not the great cathedral," and, "neither is it the various denominations." This includes the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. If God's true church is not the "established" General Conference, if it is not "the cathedral" or church buildings, if it is not the "denomination," then what is the true church? "It is the people who love God and keep His commandments," Ellen White replies. It is the community of believers, the people, the living stones that make up God's living temple. That, dear reader, is God's true church in these last days.

"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He graciously condescends to dwell among them. Let those who are representing the truth for this time pray earnestly for clear spiritual discernment. Let them be sincerely jealous for the honor of the Lord God of hosts." Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 173.1

These THREE things INSIDE the ARK of the Covenant are to be INSIDE US. Inside our minds.

 The Ark itself is our symbolizes our skull which is a house/temple for our mind/heart. "God does not control our minds without our consent; but every man is free to choose what power he will have to rule over him. None have fallen so low, none are so vile, but that they may find deliverance in Christ." {MH 93.1} "Christ is ready to set us free from sin, but He does not force the will; and if by persistent transgression the will itself is wholly bent on evil, and we do not desire to be set free, if we will not accept His grace, what more can He do? We have destroyed ourselves by our determined rejection of His love. "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." "Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts." 2 Corinthians 6:2; Hebrews 3:7, 8."  {SC 34.2} "Many accept an intellectual religion, a form of godliness, when the heart is not cleansed. Let it be your prayer, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10. Deal truly with your own soul. Be as earnest, as persistent, as you would be if your mortal life were at stake.This is a matter to be settled between God and your own soul, settled for eternity. A supposed hope, and nothing more, will prove your ruin." {SC 35.1}
1) The law (Ten Commandments) is to be written to our minds. 2 Corinthians 3:3 "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly (show) declared to be the epistle (letter) of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart(mind, Isaiah 46:8)."
2) The manna we are to eat today is found "In grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts are to be found ALL the food elements that we need." Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 92.2
3) The rod means that God has chosen us to be His special, peculiar people. “I was shown that those who are trying to obey God and purifying their souls through obedience to the truth are God’s chosen people, His modern Israel”. (Testimonies for the Church Volume 2, p. 109.1)  “I heard everywhere a multitude of voices saying, 'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.' " Early Writings, pp. 277-279. 

Our mind is a throne for God through His Son. The mercy (grace, Divine Influence) seat for the Shekhinah glory, Christ's character. Our character consists of our thoughts and our feelings. JESUS MUST BE INSIDE US by HIS OWN INVISIBLE SPIRIT manifesting Himself, His merits - love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, gentleness, temperance, faithfulness, self-less love for others, etc...  "And the one sitting on the throne said, “Behold, I am making everything new!” And he said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” Rev 21:5.
"When the heart is cleansed from sin, Christ is placed on the throne (our mind) that self-indulgence and love of earthly treasure once occupied. The image of Christ is seen in the expression of the countenance. The work of sanctification is carried forward in the soul. Self-righteousness is banished. There is seen the putting on of the new man, which after Christ is created in righteousness and true holiness."—The Review and Herald, September 11, 1900. Counsels on Stewardship, p. 27

We Are Invincible Through Christ's Strength! Christ and Satan are at war - we are the prize. Let's cooperate with Jesus so we can be raised up from the dead to receiving the finishing touch of immortality when Jesus comes! (or be translated without seeing death!)

"For we are more than Conquerors through Him that loves us . . . !"

When in his distress, Jacob laid hold of the Angel, and made supplication with tears, the heavenly Messenger, in order to try his faith, also reminded him of his sin, and endeavored to escape from him. But Jacob would not be turned away. He had learned that God is merciful (ref: Exodus 33:18 - 34:7),and he cast himself upon His mercy. He pointed back to his repentance for his sin, and pleaded for deliveranceAs he reviewed his life, he was driven almost to despair; but he held fast the Angel, and with earnest, agonizing cries urged his petition until he prevailed !

Such will be the experience of God's people in their final struggle with the powers of evil. God will test their faith, their perseverance, their confidence in His power to deliver them. Satan will endeavor to terrify them with the thought that their cases are hopeless. . . . They will have a deep sense of their shortcomings, and as they review their lives, their hopes will sink.

But remembering the greatness of God's mercy, and their own sincere repentance, they will plead His Promises made through Christ to helpless, repenting sinners. Their faith will not fail because their prayers are not immediately answered. They will lay hold of the strength of God, as Jacob laid hold of the Angel, and the language of their souls will be, "I will not let Thee go, except thou bless me" (Genesis. 32:26). . . .

Jacob's history is an assurance that God will not cast off those who have been betrayed into sin, but who have returned unto Him with true repentance. It was by self-surrender and confiding faith that Jacob gained what he had failed to gain by conflict in his own strength. God thus taught His servant that Divine power and grace alone could give him the Blessing he craved." ref: Hebrews 7:25 & Isaiah 27:5

Thus it will be with those who live in the last days. As dangers surround them, and despair seizes upon the soul, they must depend solely upon the merits of the atonementWe can do nothing of ourselves. In all our helpless unworthiness we must trust in the merits(value and worthiness) of the crucified and risen Saviour. None will ever perish while they do this! ref: Zechariah 4:6, 
God's Amazing Grace p.279

The true Ark of the Covenant rests atop your shoulders. More specifically, the Ark represents your brain. God wants to dwell in/on by His mercy, the mercy seat of our minds! This is to be the Throne of God through His Son. We were given to Him as an inheritance forever! We must be ever so careful to protect (eat right, think right, talk right, do right) and take care of the Throne room (our minds) of God & His Son.

"Why not awake the voice of spiritual song in the days of our pilgrimage? Why not return to our life of fervor? We need to study God's Word, to meditate and pray. Then we shall have spiritual eyesight to discern the inner courts of the celestial temple. We shall catch the notes of thanksgiving sung by the heavenly choir around the throne. When Zion shall arise and shine, her light will be most penetrating, and songs of praise and thanksgiving will be heard in the assembly of the saints. Little disappointments and difficulties will be lost sight of." RH May 5, 1910, par. 4

The sins of these last days will be a repeat of the sins of the children of Israel just before they entered the land of Canaan. To recall what their sins against the Lord were let us turn to – Exodus 32:6.

Exo 32:6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.”

Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation (shining out of us to others) of Himself (NOT SOMEONE ELSE!) in His church (His People). When the character (thoughts and feelings, choices and desires) of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own.

When Christ comes in the clouds - it is NOT to cleanse us of our sins, to remove from us the defects in our characters, cure us of the infirmities of our tempers and dispositions--this work is DONE before He comes! We will THEN receive the finishing touch of immortality!

  • The Original Diet (In Genesis (1:29) we find God's original diet for man)

"Again and again I have been shown that God is bringing His people back to His original design, that is, not to subsist upon the flesh of dead animals. He would have us teach people a better way.” TSDF 69

"If meat is discarded, if the taste is not educated in that direction, if a liking for fruits and grains is encouraged, it will soon be as God in the beginning designed it should be. No meat will be used by His people." TSDF 125.

"God gave our first parents the food He designed that the race should eat. It was contrary to His plan to have the life of any creature taken. There was to be no death in Eden...." CDF 81

There will be no death in Heaven either. So let's start here to become what we need to be if we plan on going to Heaven!

What Causes Pancreatic Cancer?

Three lifestyle issues keep popping up on the radar when you look at what’s contributing to pancreatic cancer:

  • Sugar/fructose consumption
  • Lack of physical exercise
  • Vitamin D deficiency

Obesity and physical inactivity makes your body less sensitive to the glucose-lowering effects of insulin. Diminished sensitivity to insulin leads to higher blood levels of insulin, which in turn can increase your risk of pancreatic cancer. One previous study found that men and women with high Body Mass Index (BMI) faced a pancreatic cancer risk 1.5 to 2 times higher than those with low BMI. And for women who are both overweight and sedentary, your risk is 2.5 times higher. When they reduced their weight and exercised, they lowered their risk. In fact, the men who exercised strenuously at least 8 hours a month were found to have only 59% of the pancreatic cancer risk of men who exercised less. Insulin seems to be one of the main drivers for cancer in general, and for pancreatic cancer in particular.


Because insulin production is one of your pancreas' main functions, used by your body to process blood sugar, and, in the laboratory, insulin actually promotes the growth of pancreatic cancer cells. Researchers suspect that if your body maintains high levels of insulin, you increase the pancreatic cancer's ability to survive and grow. In fact, researchers now believe that up to a third of all cancers may be caused by diet and lifestyle. So if you want to prevent cancer, or want to treat cancer, it is imperative that you keep your insulin levels as low as possible. Furthermore, pancreatic tumor cells have been found to use fructose, specifically, to divide and proliferate — again attesting to the fact that there are significant metabolic differences between fructose and other sugars.

According to the authors:3

"Importantly, fructose and glucose metabolism are quite different... These findings show that cancer cells can readily metabolize fructose to increase proliferation."

The study confirms the old adage that sugar feeds cancer because they found that tumor cells do thrive on sugar (glucose). However, the cells used fructose for cell division, speeding up the growth and spread of the cancer. If this difference isn't of major consequence, then I don't know what is, especially when you consider how quickly pancreatic cancer can kill you. As Jack stated in his talk, his friend was asymptomatic, and went from “healthy” to “a walking skeleton” in just three months.

It may surprise you, but the theory that sugar feeds cancer was born nearly 80 years ago. In 1931 the Nobel Prize was awarded to German researcher Dr. Otto Warburg, who first discovered that cancer cells have a fundamentally different energy metabolism compared to healthy cells. Yet most conventional cancer programs STILL do not adequately address diet and the need to avoid sugars.

Additionally, carbohydrates from glucose and sucrose significantly decreases the capacity of neutrophils to do their job. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell that help cells to envelop and destroy invaders, such as cancer. In a nutshell, ALL forms of sugar are detrimental to health in general and promote cancer, but in slightly different ways, and to a different extent. Fructose, however, clearly seems to be one of the overall most harmful.

Fructose — Uric Acid — Cancer

The study above also mentions that fructose metabolism leads to increased uric acid production along with cancer cell proliferation. This is another gigantic clue that fructose is directly associated with cancer.

In my first interview with Dr. Johnson back in 2010 (the same year that study was published), he explained the detrimental impact fructose has on your uric acid level. Interestingly, ONLY fructose, NOT glucose, drives up uric acid as part of its normal metabolic pathways. The connection between fructose, uric acid, hypertension, insulin resistance/diabetes and kidney disease is so clear that your uric acid level can actually be used as a marker for toxicity from fructose -- meaning that if your levels are high, you're at increased risk of all the health hazards associated with fructose consumption and you really need to reduce your fructose intake.

Dr. Richard Johnson has authored two of the best books on the market on the health dangers of fructose. The first one, The Sugar Fix, explains how fructose causes high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, diabetes and kidney disease. The second,The Fat Switch, explains how fructose triggers a specific 'switch' located in the powerhouse of each of your cells — the mitochondria — causing your body to activate enzymes that tell your cells to accumulate fat. This is an ancient adaptive mechanism found in a variety of animals that need to gain fat in anticipation of food scarcity or hibernation.

Now it's safe to say that cancer, at least pancreatic cancer, is also definitely on the list of diseases that are directly linked to excessive fructose consumption.

Reducing (or preferably eliminating) fructose and other added sugars, as well as limiting grain carbohydrates from your diet should be part of any comprehensive cancer treatment plan. By doing so, you’ll help stave off any potential cancer growth, and "starve" any tumors you currently have. It also bolsters your overall immune function, because sugar decreases the function of your immune system almost immediately.

Unfortunately, few cancer patients undergoing conventional cancer care in the US are offered any scientifically guided nutrition therapy beyond being told to "just eat healthy foods." I believe many cancer patients would see major improvement in their outcome if they controlled the supply of cancer's preferred fuel, glucose, and stayed clear of fructose to significantly reduce tumor proliferation.

Top 13 Tips to Prevent Cancer

There’s a lot you can do to lower your chances of getting cancer -- you and your family CAN take control of your health. Don’t wait for diagnosis, take the reins and be a proactive participant in your own health care, before you end up in need for disease management. I believe you can virtually eliminate your risk of cancer and chronic disease, and radically improve your chances of recovering from cancer if you currently have it, by following these relatively simple risk reduction strategies.

  1. Reduce or eliminate your processed food, sugar/fructose and grain carbohydrate intake. This applies to whole unprocessed organic grains as well, as they tend to rapidly break down and drive your insulin and leptin levels up, which is the last thing you need to have happening if you are seeking to resolve or prevent cancer.
  2. Consider seriously reducing your protein levels. Immediately start a completely Vegan diet. Do not cheat. Start juicing most all your vegetables and drink them raw... a cheap juicer is a Jack LaLanne juicer and a more reliable one is from
  3. Control your fasting insulin and leptin levels. This is the end result you’ll get when you remove sugars and grains from your diet and start to exercise regularly. Your levels can be easily monitored with the use of simple and relatively inexpensive blood tests.
  4. Normalize your ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats by taking a high-quality krill oil and reducing your intake of most processed vegetable oils.
  5. Get regular exercise. One of the primary reasons exercise works is that it drives your insulin levels down. Controlling insulin levels is one of the most powerful ways to reduce your cancer risks.
  6. The trick about exercise, though, is understanding how to use it as a precise tool. This ensures you are getting enough to achieve the benefit, not too much to cause injury, and the right variety to balance your entire physical structure and maintain strength and flexibility, and aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels. If you have limited time Peak Fitness exercises are your best bet but ideally you should have a good strength training program as well.

  7. Normalize your vitamin D levels by getting appropriate sun exposure, and consider careful supplementation when this is not possible. However, if you’re taking oral vitamin D, you also need to make sure you’re taking vitamin K2 as well, as K2 deficiency is actually what produces the symptoms of vitamin D toxicity, which includes inappropriate calcification that can lead to hardening of your arteries.   9. Reduce your exposure to environmental toxins like pesticides, household chemical cleaners, synthetic air fresheners and air pollution.

  11. Avoid frying or charbroiling your food. Boil, poach or steam your foods instead.

It is likely that this factor may be more important than all the other physical ones listed here, so make sure this is addressed.
