Executive Director, Michelle J. Hill MichelleHill@empowermecenter.com ![]() Michelle was born in Frankfort, Kentucky and has lived in Wilson County, Tennessee since 1997. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. She is the owner of Empowering Therapy Services, Inc., a professional therapy company providing occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology services to school systems, private agencies, and early intervention clients. She employs ten therapists and specifically oversees the occupational therapy programs for Smith County and Lebanon Special School Systems (Tennessee). She is also a partner at Dynamic Solutions for Kids, a pediatric outpatient therapy center serving birth through twenty-one years of age. In 1999, Michelle founded Empower Me Day Camp, A Nonprofit Corporation for children with special needs and currently serves on the Board and as Executive Director. Michelle is a County Contact for the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee and leads the Wilson County Autism Parent Support Group. as well as volunteers her time as Director of the West Wilson Basketball Association Shooting Stars League, a basketball league for children with disabilities. Michelle was named by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International as a "Paul Harris Fellow." She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Wilson and was presented in 2011 with the Commitment to Leadership Award, and was previously chosen as one of The Tennessean's "Top 40 Under 40" who make a difference in Middle Tennessee Communities. Michelle is also the author of “Open This Only If”, a book detailing the two years following the death of her husband in 2011 and the journey she has traveled with her two amazing children, John Reed and Rylee Day. Beth Goolesby joined Empower Me Day Camp, full time, in August 2015. Her current job title is the Adult Program Director, though she has worn many hats. She began as a Team Leader in 2001 an served many years as Assistant Camp Director. ![]()
She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1999 and is a 2003 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, emphasis in Special Education. While attending MTSU, Britney served as a BlueBell, Student Ambassador, and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Upon graduation Britney began teaching in Lebanon (Tennessee) Special School District, serving the student in both inclusion and comprehensive development classes. Britney was named "Teacher of the Year" for Byars Dowdy Elementary in 2010. While teaching, Britney was also attending Trevecca Nazarene University and graduated in 2010 with a Master in Counseling Psychology. Britney is currently serving as the Cheerleading Coach for Winfree Bryant Middle School. Britney is a member of the Lebanon, TN Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Wilson County Fair Board of Directors. Britney resides in Lebanon, TN with her husband Wes and their daughter Briley. Britney and Wes are the owners of "Wilkie's Outfitters". Amy Dyer Carver, Development Director AmyCarver@empowermecenter.com Amy Dyer Carver joined the Empower Me Team on March 1, 2019, to help us achieve our DREAMS! After serving in a volunteer capacity on the Advisory Board, she is now Development Director. A native of Lebanon, Amy graduated from Lebanon High School in 1988. She then attended Western Kentucky University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences degree. Amy comes to Empower Me Center with 17 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she spent 10 years as the Development Director for Interfaith Dental Clinic. Her prior nonprofit positions were held with Easter Seals Tennessee, The Biloxi Tricentennial Commission, and The American Cancer Society. While working with Interfaith Dental Clinic, Amy was selected as a Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Emerging Leader, one of the nation’s largest philanthropic investments in nonprofit leadership development. Amy is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, a former member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a volunteer for Interfaith Dental Clinic. She resides in Lebanon, Tennessee, and is a member of College Hills Church of Christ. “I am so honored to have been selected to join the Empower Me Center Team!
