 Research Interests, cruises, projects

Having started my "scientific career" as a Geologist with a focus on carbonate sedimentology, I have gradually transformed to a Marine Geochemist or Sediment Geochemist. Applying a range of inorganic geochemical techniques (including total and sequential extractions, photometry, AAS, IC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, C/N/S analyzer), I analyze the solid phase and pore water composition of recent and ancient marine deposits. Favorite topics include:

* Biogeochemical cycles of C, P, Si, S, and transition metals (Fe, Mn, Mo, Zn, Cd ... )

* Early diagenetic processes and signatures in marine sediments

* Modern & ancient anoxic depositional environments

* Biogeochemistry & paleoenvironmental reconstructions in high northern latitude seas
