Picasa 3 - Organize and edit your digital photos

Presenter Rafael Cazorla     Assistant: Marc Bayangos
Session: 1                             Room: 02

Description

Picasa is a free software that is very versatile and incredibly easy to use, that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures and videos on your computer. Picasa 3 is an excellent tool to enhance students’ creativity because it allows you to make your own photo projects and even create your own webpage.

Once this free software is downloaded, Picasa 3 automatically locates all pictures on your computer and sorts them into visual albums organized by date, with folder names easily recognizable. Picasa 3 allows you to drag and drop photos to arrange them into these albums. Picasa 3 also has a built-in screensaver feature for displaying photos. Moreover Picasa 3 makes advanced editing simple with one-click fixes and powerful effects.

In the classroom, photos can be organized as well as photo CD for each student can be created. Another interesting feature is that Web Albums can be created for students to access from home. This way photography can be integrated into the courses’ research and presentations by letting students take course-related photos, post them to their Web Albums and present oral reports.
