Plot

Exposition:
Hannah Stern is an ordinary Jewish girl who lives in New Rochester, New York. She was having a Passover dinner with family when she was asked to "Open the door for the prophet Elijah". After this, everything changed.
 
Rising Action:
Hannah turns around and see's a woman she has never seen before. She is very confused. They all think her name is Chaya and everything is very old fashion looking. Hannah immeDIATelY thinks she is dreaming. She plays along with this dream for some time but after a while Chaya starts believing that this really is her. She hears stories of how she got over a terrible sickness and how her parents died. Is this real?
 
Climax:
Her Uncle Shmuel is having a wedding. He is getting married to fayge. The wedding is going great until they see cars parked outside their shul, They wonder what the cars are doing there. then, soldiers get out of the cars and circle around them. They say that because of the war, they need to be transferred. they are driven to a bus station and crammed into a small train. There are so many Jews in the train it is hard to breathe. They are kept on the train for 4 whole days without food and fEw water breaks. This iS where the terror begins. This is NOT a dream.
 
Falling Action:
They are put into a concentration camp and forced to do work and be good or they will be put into the "gas oven". Chaya meets a girl named Rivka who teaches her alot and helps her survive. Lots of people die during this time and Chaya is nearly starved. The soliders and workers are very mean and hurt her family. They try to escape one night but they get caught. Chaya and Gitl make it back without getting caught but Shmuel and Fayge end up getting shot on "the wall" the next morning.
 
Resolution:
Chaya and her friends and getting water from the dirty well when a solider walks up to them and and says he needs to choose three more people. He chooses three of Chaya's friends who are at the well with her, one including Rivka. tHE DISCRETLY SWITCHES PLACES WITH rIVKA AND TELLS HER TO RUN FOR HER LIFE. HER AND HER FRIENDS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO DEATH IN THE GAS OVEN. jUST AS THE DOOR IS OPENING, hANNAH IS BACK IN nEW YORK IN NORMAL TIME, STILL STANDING WAITING FOR THE PROPHIT eLIJAH TO COME THROUGH THE DOOR. sHE TELLS NO ONE ABOUT HER EXPERENCE EXCEPT HER aUNT eVA, WHO ACTUALLY TURNS OUT BEING rIVKA, THE ONE SHE SAVED IN THE CONCENTRATION CAMP.
