Snowball Cookies

1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 T vanilla extract
1/2 t salt
3 cups flour
2 cups semi-sweet, mini chocolate chips
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in the flour. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Shape level tablespoons of dough into 1 1/4 inch balls. A cookie scooper works well for this. Place on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned.

Remove from oven and sift powdered sugar over the cookies on the baking sheets.

Cool cookies on baking sheets for 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Sprinkle with more powdered sugar, if desired.
