Director: LTC Jane Warner, Ed. D.
Dr. Jane M. Warner is the Director of The Center. In this position, she coordinates accessibility to university programs and classes for students with documented disabilities. Dr. Warner also serves as a resource to administration, faculty, and staff on disability issues as well as other academic support needs.
Dr. Warner holds an Ed.D. in Special Education Administration and Supervision from Virginia Tech, a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech and a BA in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Before coming to The Citadel, she served as Assistant Director of Services for Students with Disabilities at Virginia Tech. She has also held the position of Special Education Program Auditor for the Washington State Legislature and has taught special education to grades K-12.
Dr. Warner’s memberships include the National Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), South Carolina University & College Council of Educators Empowering Disabled Students(SUCCEEDS),and the American Association of University Women.
Assistant Director: CAPT Doug Yates
Doug Yates supervises the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program
and the Writing Lab. He also manages the Center’s website and oversees the
Online Writing Lab (OWL). He comes to the Citadel after six years at Red Rocks
Community College in Lakewood, Colorado. A teacher by training, he has taught
English composition and Literature at the middle school, high school, and
college levels. At Red Rocks, he supervised the adjunct faculty in the English department
before becoming Chairperson in the summer of 2010.
He received his Master’s degree in Literary Linguistics from
the University of Nottingham in the UK and his Bachelor’s degree in English
Literature from Lehigh University. Coincidentally, he was a captain of the
football team under current Citadel Head Coach Kevin Higgins during Higgins’s tenure
Yates and his wife have two sons and live in the Charleston
Math Lab Manager: Jeff Ragan, M.S.
Jeff Ragan is in his 12th year helping with running the day-to-day operations of the Math Lab. Ragan came to The Citadel after finishing undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Education as well as an Education Certification at Oklahoma State University. He then completed his Master's in Education with a focus on Mathematics at The Citadel in 2002. Jeff also works as an adjunct professor in The Citadel's mathematics department and is the Associate Head Wrestling Coach of The Citadel’s wrestling program. He is married to the former Andrea Denise Clark. The couple has a daughter, Allie, and a son, Jacob.

Corps Squad Program Coordinator: James Weber, M.A. Candidate
James (J.B.) Weber came to The Citadel in the spring of 2007 to take a position as an assistant on the football staff. In May of 2009, after two years with The Citadel football program, J.B. transferred to the Academic Support Center. He currently serves as the Center’s Corps SQUAD Program Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating with Citadel athletic coaches to ensure that student-athletes have equal access and opportunity to benefit from The Center’s academic support services. He also administers the study hall program for academically at risk student-athletes.
J. B. attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where, in 2006 he earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in history. He also received departmental honors for his undergraduate thesis entitled The Rice Kings’ Revolt: The Revolutionary Experience in South Carolina 1774-1776. J.B. played football for Franklin and Marshall College all four years he attended the school. He played fullback for the Diplomats, and in 2005, during his senior season, he was named to the Centennial Conference Honor Roll for his outstanding performance both on the field and in the classroom.
J.B. is currently in the final stages of completing a Master’s Degree in history from the joint program of The Citadel and the College of Charleston. He is native of Rye, New York, and resides in Charleston.

Office Manager: Paula Ross
Ross is the Office Manager in The Center. She has worked at the Citadel
since 1998, in the Office of Access, Services, Instruction, and Support
(OASIS) since July of 2000, and began working in The Center when the
OASIS office and Writing and Learning Center merged in August of 2009.
Paula was born and raised in the Charleston area.
