The Center was recently selected as the winner of the 2011 Frank L. Christ Outstanding Learning Center Award from the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA) .
Our Center’s Tutor Training Program has been certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). All tutors and Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders are required to go through a minimum of ten hours of training per semester until they reach Master/Level 3 certification. In addition to following CRLA recommendations, SI leaders are trained according to standards set forth by the University of Missouri, Kansas-City, and the International Center for Supplemental Instruction.
In academic year (AY) 10-11, 100% of tutors began working towards CRLA Certification. Ninety-two percent achieved at least Level 1 Certification, and 86% achieved at least Level Three Certification. 100% of SI Leaders were trained according to the international standards set forth by the University of Missouri, Kansas-City.
