Streams of Mercy Fun Run 2015

Learn more about the Streams of Mercy fun run on Facebook

The proceeds from this year's fun run will benefit the outreach efforts of the Safe Harbor Free Clinic and the Boscovet Project.  Safe Harbor, founded in 2009,  provides free medical and dental care to people from the surrounding communities.  It is the largest free medical clinic between Seattle and the Canadian border.

The Boscovet Project also founded in 2009, provides support to the poverty stricken rural farm families in Kenya.  Our motto is "empowering those who live in poverty to live with HOPE". Education, especially early childhood education, is one key to escaping this cycle.  Our goal is to enlarge the 6 room school we built in 2013 which is no longer large enough to accommodate the 160 students.  And enrollment is climbing each term.  Our plans are to add on another 8 classrooms to provide education through the 8th grade.  Currently we have teachers for pre-K through 3rd grade.

On October 31st the Boscovet Project, in conjunction with Safe Harbor Free Clinic, is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Streams of Mercy Benefit Fun 5K/10K Run/Walk.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners and ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 10 separate age categories. Custom made shirts will be available for purchase (if interested please pre-order at www.boscovetproject.org). After the run/walk, we will host at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church a Harvest Festival featuring activities and games for all ages.  Plus there will be food vendors, a bouncy house, live music, a costume contest, and trunk or treat. The Harvest Festival will be held from 12-5 pm. Volunteers are needed to help supervise activities, provide support and traffic control for the runners, registration, and serve as hosts, etc.  Please contact Dan Haskins or Deanna Khoury to volunteer and offer support for this community outreach. All proceeds will be used to support the medical and dental outreach efforts of Safe Harbor Free Clinic and the construction of an addition to the Boscovet Hope Academy in Kenya.  The contact e-mail for sending registration and shirt order forms is dr.danhaskins@gmail.com
