Lloyd Stevenson

Cecil L. Stephenson, 84, of Joliet died on Saturday morning at Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Born 4/19/1930 in Morgan County Illinois the son of Hubert & Lennie Reynolds Stephenson. He married Mary Martha Borlin, March 30, 1946 and she survives. Also surviving are: one son, Henry (Jeanie)Stephenson of Welsh, OK, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Stimac of Joliet, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Frank and Kenneth Stephenson of Jacksonville, IL. and Bud (Faye) Stephenson of Sevierville, Tenn. 2 sisters, Audrey Buchanan and Lorraine Brant both of Jacksonville, brother-in-law David (Sherry) Borlin of St. Louis. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, David Dayne Stephenson and twin brother of David, Darrell Wayne in infancy. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings; Wendell Stephenson, Sr., Bill Stephenson, Anna Lee Maki, Gladys Ruble, Velma and Flossie Stephenson, Pauline Letiff and Bessie Walker. 

Cecil was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He worked for the Illinois Dept. of Corrections at Statesville Prison in Joliet retiring a few years ago. 

Graveside rites will be held on Tuesday April 6 at 1 P.M. at the Carrollton City Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Carrollton American Legion. Condolences may be left online at: www.airsman-hires.com. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.
