Birds Up For Adoption

To Go "Home" click here: The Bird Nerds   Rescue/Sanctuary

In order to adopt any bird from us you must complete our adoption form and be approved, before you can adopt.
By completing an adoption application it does NOT mean you will be approved to adopt.
You can print this application out and mail it to us.
The address on this form is for mailing purposed only, we are not open to the public as we run this rescue out of my home. If you want to come meet a bird, you must first fill out the application, if it is approved we can schedule and appointment.

After your application has been approved, and you find the right bird for you, you will need to complete an adoption contract which will insure our birds get their forever home and "Happy Ending"

This bird was a breeder and was caged with another Quaker that he didn't like. He is approx. 15 years old.  This Quaker was plucked a little on the neck and is now growing back feathers. They previously had mites and they were treated and no longer have them. They were severely neglected and our vet said this was the worse case of malnutrition he had ever seen. They now have a great diet and they are recovering from the past neglect. His beak was severely overgrown and will need to be trimmed by an avian vet for the rest of his life. His foot was also attacked by the other Quaker and he has one full toe. He will need to have special attention. He is still able to climb around and perch.
If you would like to adopt Remer you must have aggressive bird experience. He would be better off if he was in a house with no other bird or only one other bird as he needs a lot of one on one attention.

Adoption Fee: $80.00

The Bird Nerds reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone that we don't find suitable for a particular bird. We ask that you don't take it personally. Our MAIN concern is our birds health, welfare and happiness.   We always try to let our birds pick their people instead of the other way around.  If the bird you want to adopt doesn't seem to connect with you, we won't adopt him/her out.
