ROTHESAY - Author Jonathan Friesen surprised a packed gymnasium Wednesday when he appeared on a big screen via a webcam to introduce his novel, Jerk, California as this year's choice for the Big Rothesay Read.

What's up? I'm ready to come to New Brunswick, that's all," Friesen said from his home in Minnesota to about 700 people who were gathered at Rothesay High School for the launch of the Big Rothesay Read's third season.

Big Rothesay Read Gearing Up for Year 3

In little more than a month the title of this year's tome, selected by organizers of The Big Rothesay Read, will be practically a household word. It will be revealed at a event planned to build excitement and interest in literacy and the joy of reading.
