Melanie white

Melanie White - Artistic Director

Melanie White is a Fanshawe College graduate and co-founder of Squirrel Suit Productions. Melanie works intensely to create new and innovative theatre and  support young actors in their community. Melanie is a conservatively trained actor, director, playwright, and paramedic student.

Melanie has starred in Hamlet, Splendor in the Grass, Unity 1918, and has written the Fringe shows Skirts in a Box, and In Their Shoes.

Melanie recently directed SAOR (Free) for it's 2016 Ontario/Quebec tour and teamed up with Funeral Pyre Theatre to co-direct the dark yet fun production of Titus Andronicus. Now she's busy with Squirrel Suit's 2nd annual Shakespeare project with FP Theatre,  co-directing Taming of the Shrew.

Jon Paterson - Technical Director, Collaborator

Jon has been working in theatre for 20 years and is a founding member and artistic producer of RibbitRePublic Theatre. Jon has co-produced and performed in over a dozen Ribbit Shows including BoyGroove, Grimmer than Grimm, House, Water and Letters in Wartime on international Fringe Festival tours.

Jon has performed in various theatre and festivals across Canada including The Centaur Wildside Festival, Canoe Theatre Festival, Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Vertigo Mystery Theatre and the

Jon is Squirrel Suits Technical Director. He worked on "SAOR" as the lighting designer and stage manager at the Toronto and Guelph Fringe Festivals. He also has been collaborating on both "SAOR" and "The ADHD Project" for the 2017 Squirrel Suit Season.

Currently Jon lives in Vancouver, where he is also the technical director of Monster Theatre and lighting Designer for Vancouver Theatre Sports. Jon is also a stilt walker, stage manager, poster designer and Winnipeg Jets Fan.

Carlyn Rhamey - Artistic Producer, Playwright/Performer

Carlyn Rhamey is an award winning storyteller hailing from Welland, ON. She is a proud Fanshawe Theatre Arts Alumni and co-founder of Squirrel Suit Productions. Carlyn is very passionate about creating new work and making a positive impact through Squirrel Suit's community initiatives.  Recently Carlyn wrote and performed her very first one-woman show SAOR.  Carlyn also works with adults with special needs, is an ADHD advocate, avid coffee drinker and vegetarian. 

Currently Carlyn is busy with both SAOR and her new storytelling show The ADHD project. Carlyn is also executive producing Taming of the Shrew and is apart of the Hamilton Fringe ALERT (Artistic Leadership and Entrepreneurial Training) Program, where she will also be on a team producing the 2017 FrostBites Festival.
