I am a Professor in Sustainable Finance at Vlerick Business School, Associate Editor at the Journal of Futures Markets and the European Journal of Finance

My research draws from the collective knowledge of finance, behavioural economics, innovation and psychology. In my research, I am interested in understanding the role of financial markets in tackling sustainability challenges.

Amongst other topics, over the past years, I have studied how to adapt corporate governance practices towards a more sustainable future, how to model the behaviour of commodity prices, how leadership characteristics affect organisational performance and how behavioural and heuristic biases influence financial markets. My current work looks at the financing of green innovation and nudging for sustainability.  I also work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in finance, especially in applications involving machine learning and robo-advising that promote financial wellbeing as enabler of  sustainable finance.

I have published in journals such as the Journal of Finance, Research Policy, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, Quantitative Finance, the Journal of Futures Markets and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money

My research findings have received coverage by many media outlets, including the Financial Times, Times Higher Education, AACSB, Australian Financial Review, Medium, Inside Higher Education, Professional Investor, Research Professional News , Investment Europe,  Academic Times and the Huffington Post.
