I am currently working in quantitative finance, particularly interested in applying online convex optimization to the field. There are several intriguing problems that I am trying to understand and figure out. Besides, I study time series analysis and applications of machine learning to forecasting. I am still thinking about algebra, geometry, combinatorics whenever possible. One problem that I am thinking of is symbolic powers and their regularity. Previously, I worked with Luchezar Avramov as a Postdoc in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I received my Ph.D. in 2014 from the Department of Mathematics at the University of California at Berkeley. My advisor was David Eisenbud. My thesis is Combinatorial Patterns in Syzygies.
I like discussing mathematics with people and find motivated when doing so. In particular, I have learned a decent amount of homological methods from Hop Nguyen when working with him.
