I am a music afficionado and Tabla student. I have been learning from my Guru (teacher), Prafulla Athalye , a very senior disciple of the great Ustad Allah Rakha Khan Saheb, since 1999 in Bombay, India. Since 2003, I have been fortunate to attend workshops conducted by the legendary maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain . I am very privileged to have the guidance and blessings from such Gurus.

On a crowded Saturday night in Infini-T House; attempting a Kamaali Chakradhar (Composition with 3rd order complexity) It comprises of a normal tihai which is a phrase repeating 3 times) but has something repeating three times at the end of each third and also, within each of the '9th' there is yet another phrase repeating 3 times. The idea is that in the 16-beat rhythm cycle, the first of the first of the first lands on the downbeat. Then the second of the second of the second, and finally the third of the third of the third.

I have also been fortunate to have received guidance from Guruji Suresh Talwalkar, Shri Yogesh Samsi, Shri. Aditya Kalyanpur, and Shri. Ramdas Palsule. They taught me with great love and kindness both in the US when touring and in Pune.

I was also fortunate to have learned from Princeton Professor Manjul Bhargava 2000-01 in Princeton. I would also like to acknowledge Dr. Hemant Kudrimoti who also guided me in Tucson, AZ.
