Local T.G.A Rules for 2019 season

· When in your own fairway, a player may lift, clean and place his ball within one club length of the

balls original position, no closer to the hole.

· When in your own fairway or green side bunker, a player may lift smooth and place his ball,

within one foot of the balls original position, no closer to the hole. (Rake trap as you exit). There will be a

fine for not raking bunkers.

· TGA members should not be throwing golf clubs! There will be a fine for throwing clubs.

(Throw 3 clubs pay 3 times).

· TGA members should always respect the golf course! There will be a fine for causing negligent

damage to the course and course property.

· Play ball as it lies on all hardpan, unless lined off as ground under repair or the ball is on

rock filled hardpan, take one club length relief no closer to the hole..

· On the fringe of your own green (the fringe starts at the front of the green and includes

the cut area round the green) a player may mark the position of his ball, lift, clean and replace his

ball in the same manner as if the ball was on the green.

· ALL PUTS MUST BE HOLED OUT, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red Nine: Front of West course

#1 and #9 The driving range is out of bounds. A player may take one club length

relief from driving range netting, poles or wires when they interfere with the player’s stance or swing.

A player may not take relief from netting, poles or wires due to line of flight interference.

#2 the low area (hole) in the right woods at about the 100-yard marker is ground under repair.

If the white line defining this area is not visible a player can take one club relief no closer to the hole.

#7 A ball hit to the right which travel in the direction of the water hazard may be considered

lost in the hazard, play your third stoke from behind the hazard. See (****)

White Nine: Back of West course

#4 Woods beyond pond, which run along right side of ditch, are part of the hazard.

A tee ball which travels in the direction of the water hazard on the right side maybe considered lost

in the hazard. Anyone taking relief from the hazard due to a lost tee ball must drop their ball behind

the pond. If a player finds his ball in the hazard/woods, he has the option to play it with the

understanding his ball is in a hazard. (See rule 13 and rule 26 for procedures and options). See (****)

Blue Nine: Front of East course

#1 and #3 The low drainage area, which runs across the fairway and through the rough on these

two holes, is ground under repair. If the white line defining this area is not visible a player can

take one club relief, no closer to the hole. A Chain link fence that surrounds the maintenance area

is out of bounds.

Gold Nine: Back of East course

#1 & #9 The woods to the left of the red stakes are a continuation of the lateral water hazard.

If a player has reasonable evidence that his ball is lost in either of these hazards, under penalty

of one stroke, may take two club lengths relief from the point where his ball last crossed the

hazard line, drop a ball and continue play. If a player finds his ball in the hazard/woods, he has

the option to play it with the understanding his ball is in a hazard.

# 4 A tee ball which travels in the direction of the water hazard on the right side may

be considered lost in the hazard, play your third stoke from behind the hazard. See (****)

#16 Ditch left of road and ditch that run along left side of the green are ground under repair.

#17 If the group behind your group is on the tee when you reach the 17th green, wave them up.

To avoid being hit and to help identify the balls locations watch the flight of the balls of the group

hitting up.

Princeton Meadows:

#13, #14 & #15 a player may take one club length relief from cement in ditch,

if the cement interferes with the player's stance or swing

Due to the irregularity of the out of bounds stakes on hole #13, 14, 15, 16 and 18 and

a solution which would eliminate potential controversy the TGA will not recognize any of the

out of bound on these holes. So hit away.

The rule used to govern our play with respect to ditches is, ditches are hazards. If a ditch or any

other water hazard is not staked, the margin of that hazard will be determined by the drop off of

the land that defines the Hazard. Rock filled ditches within the tree line, such as the ones in the left

rough on #7 Red, left of the road on #7 Gold and in the left rough #9 Gold are defined as ground

under repair. If the white line defining these areas is not visible a player may take one club relief,

no closer to the hole.

**** If a player’s ball is hit on a line which would clearly reach the hazard and the player cannot

find his ball the player may assume the ball is lost in the water and drop in the drop area.

· When in doubt about a rule, play a second ball, the rules committee will make a ruling at the end

of play on which ball to score.

11. How to Decide Ties

The TGA will strive to have an individual winner for all match & stroke

play tournaments, if circumstance prevents the desired outcome the tournament

committee may request the executive committee to declare a tie.

Match play

The TGA will decide all match play ties with sudden death playoffs. If the

play off is to be held on the day of the match the playoff will start on the

first hole that the match began. If a 1st hole start is not feasible the play

off can take place on any hole agreeable to the players on the course the

match was held. If there is no opportunity to complete the match on that

day the playoff will be held on the next weekend on the course of play as

part of the TGA group or on the opposite course (red/white vs Gold/blue)

at an early time then that days TGA event. If the players cannot arrange

a suitable time for a playoff the executive committee will set the time and

course for the playoff

(c) The TGAs method of breaking ties will be 1) best score for the last nine holes.

2) Last six holes. 3) Last three holes. 4) 18th hole. If the players are still tied repeat

this procedure for the front nine.

Stroke play

· The TGA will not hold playoffs for any stroke play events. All ties will be decided by

the procedure set forth in paragraph (c) on the final or defined course of the event. If this

procedure fails to break ties the tournament committee will request the executive

committee to declare a tie.
