2017 IOM NI Champs Day 2

Well, Day 2, and the Final Day, of the 2017 IOM North Island Championship Event, has been Run and Won.

A special Thanks goes out to the Competitors, who have come from Far and Wide, for the event, as wells as the Locals.
To the Many Volunteers, who have made this a Successful Event, a Big Thank You ! !

After looking at the various Weather Maps, Forecasts, etc, I called a special meeting to layout plans for the days racing, as predictions were for Gale Force Winds, Heavy Rain with Thunderstorms to come through, in the later part of the morning, early this afternoon.

We went ahead with racing, as per Sailing Instructions, with the first race off at 1030hrs, weather was nice and mild, with the occasional passing shower. This was to become the norm. for the day, with Only 1 or 2 races, sailed in adverse conditions.

A few protests, soon sorted, and I’m Sure, All competitors had an eventful and full weekend of racing.

We have a New North Island Champion, in Richard McNeilly, (TgaRSC), coming out on top, with Rob Nelson 2nd,  (West RSC),  and John Mcpherson 3rd,  (Well RSC).

Racing was called at 1230hrs, and was followed by a BBQ, and presentations after.
Wish All the Competitors a Safe Trip home, and until next time, Thank You, One and All for a Great Weekend of Sailing
