Recent Announcements

  • Meekness and Quietness of Spirit by Matthew Henry
In conjunction with a class being taught at our church, we looked for this book in its unabridged form and almost invariably found the abridged version published by the American Tract Society. It misses Henry's omits in Hebrew, Greek and Latin, and also removes some of Henry's turns of phrase and pithiness. This version is complete and unabridged and also contains the sermon originally appended to it. Enjoy!

  • Keep it Holy! A Tract on the Sabbath Day by J. C. Ryle
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this small tract may be one of the most important ebooks we've republished. Ryle's observations, pleadings, and warnings are just as relevant and poignant today as they were when he wrote them 150 years ago. This edition contains an excellent foreword by Dr Daniel Ritchie. It is available on the Kindle store, the Nook store, and the Kobo store.

  • All ebooks now on Kobo and Nook store
In an effort to show a little support to people not tied to Amazon, we've published all our ebooks on the Nook and Kobo bookstore.

  • Updated all Kindle Titles
Some of the older titles we'd published looked pretty good, but I was never fully satisfied. I've now standardized the formatting in all of them and made some minor corrections. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you've made lots of notes and highlights), Amazon will not push these updates unless they believe the original issues to be serious enough. I'm working to get the Westminster Standards update pushed to all customers as I believe the usability and formatting is vastly superior to the old version. Regardless, all new customers will have the updated versions going forward. Always reforming!

  • Calvin's Sermons on Psalm 46 and 48
I am very excited to announce this release. These sermons were originally translated into English in 1562 and since then have never been republished, yet they are among some of the most important sermons from the Reformer. For a long time the original manuscripts were believed to be lost. The last two sermons were eventually recovered but the first still only exists in this English translation.

The historical context which occasioned these sermons is really remarkable. In 1560 Geneva was under threat of attack from her enemies, with soldiers amassing and being stationed nearby. The alarm was sounded in Geneva on a Tuesday and the following Sunday Calvin broke from his regular series of preaching to preach these three sermons on Psalm 46, God's being our refuge, we will not be moved, God is in the midst of her, the Lord of Hosts is with us. This was no theoretical application of Scripture for Calvin: their enemies were nearly at the door! They are, as always, sincere, warm, and encouraging and we hope you'll enjoy them as much as we have. It is available on Amazon for $0.99, feel free to check out the rest of our catalogue as well.

I am making the PDF available for free a download. However, since we put a lot of work into providing it and would receive no financial benefit in this way, my stipulation is that a download constitutes a promise from you to actually read the sermons, not simply add them to a collection of files on a computer for possible future use. With that promise received, here is the file.
