Connecting to Collections: Texas

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission, in collaboration with the Texas Historical Commission, the Texas Association of Museums, the Texas Library Association, Amigos Library Services, and the Kilgarlin Center for Preservation of the Cultural Record at the University of Texas at Austin's School of Information, are conducting a multi-year effort to establish processes, develop resources, and build the strong foundation of public and private support needed to assess the collections care needs of institutions across the state.

Connecting to Collections: Texas is part of the Institute of Museum and Library Services' Connecting to Collections Initiative. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. The Institute's mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas.
