Real-time monitoring of Software Development

TESNA  short for TEchnical and Social Network Analysis is a tool developed at the IS&CM department of University of Twente, Netherlands. It is designed to monitor both social and technical  networks involved in the development of software in large organizations.


. The three network structures that can be analyzed are:

  • The structure of the developer tasks
  • .The dependency graph of the software components
  • .The social network of the developers


The software has been developed using  Eclipse. A Java library called JUNG (Java Universal Network/Graph Framework)  was used to render  the networks.
