JOB FAIRS in ISABELA held

A series of job fairs were held in the province of Isabela this May 1, May 3 and May 4 in the cities of Cauayan, Santiago and Ilagan respectively.

The said jobs fair were done through the collaboration and partnership of TESDA, DOLE, POEA, the Provincial Government of Isabela and the City Governments of Cauayan, Santiago and Ilagan.

A total of 964 applicants attended the said job fairs and 168 of them were hired on the spot while hundreds of them reached near hiring pending to the submission of other documents relative to their hiring.

“The purpose of these job fairs is ensuring our graduates in TESDA to land a job and at the same time assist our provincemates as they seek employment.” explained by Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., TESDA-Isabela Provincial Director.

The job fair in the City of Ilagan was primarily sponsored by the City Government of Ilagan under the leadership of City Mayor Evelyn C. Diaz as it was coincided with the City’s 333rd founding anniversary.

The jobs fair in Ilagan was attended by the regional directors of DOLE and POEA together with POEA Administrator Bernard P. Olalia and DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III.

POEA Administrator Bernard P. Olalia stressed the availability of jobs abroad and that his office is always ready to help Isabeleños who wanted to seek employment overseas. In order for the applicants to gain insights on the process of getting employment abroad and how to avoid illegal recruitment, Atty. Eric D. Dollante, the chief legal officer of POEA explained to the trainees the process.

On the other hand, Sec. Silvestre H. Bello of the Department of Labor and Employment ensured the trainees that his office will always protect the welfare and rights of workers.
