Our big day: Saturday, May 22, 2010

About Terri~

Terri was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She is the fourth of five children.

Terri is a proud Gator and graduated in May 2006 from the University of Florida with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. She had a busy and memorable time at UF, and was heavily involved in various campus activities, especially her sorority, Gamma Eta, as well as serving the community.

Terri now lives in New Jersey and works as a Pediatric Nurse. She is currently juggling work full time while attending graduate school at Columbia University in New York City. In December 2010, she will be finished with her Master's Degree Family Nurse Practitioner Program.

When time permits, Terri likes to travel (she especially likes Paris and New York City), watch movies, play Rock Band, shop, watch Gator football, go out for dinner and drinks in New York City, and spend time with family and friends.

About Will~

William was born and raised in Piscataway, New Jersey. He is the third of four kids.

William made the big move from New Jersey to Gainesville, Florida, where he attended the University of Florida. He graduated in December 2007 with his Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science. While at UF, Will was very involved with and passionate about his fraternity, Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. and the side of Greek Life that is rarely showcased in the media - the community service, the philanthropy, the networking, and most importantly the commitment to group academic success. Like Terri, he also enjoyed serving the community.

William now lives in New Jersey and works at a 4th Generation Wireless Networking company. He is involved in the development and testing of new networking systems that combine both wireless and wired technologies.

Some of William's interests are watching movies and television shows on Blu Ray, playing their Playstation 3, and remaining actively and passionately involved in Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. where he has tried to make a difference the lives of other young men by inspiring them to never doubt the change possible by small, dedicated few and to believe that brick by brick we can build a better world together - together we stand, divided we fall.

About us~

William and Terri had mutual friends through their fraternity and sorority while at the University of Florida. They weren't really friends, only acquaintances until January 2005, when Will asked Terri out on a date and she accepted thinking the worst case is that she would at least have a free dinner. They did, in fact, have a very nice dinner and were supposed to see a movie afterward. However, they were so busy talking that they never made it to the movie. It turns out they had quite a bit in common.  It was a wonderful day, as they had participated in a community service event together that afternoon before their date. They officially became a couple in February 2005 and later moved together to New Jersey in December 2007.

About the Proposal~

It was January 20, 2009 (Inauguration Day) and Will and Terri were looking forward to seeing Barack Obama become the 44th President of the United States. Will had to "go to the office" that morning to take care of something (he was actually picking up the ring in New York City) and when he came back home, he had a bottle of real champagne (it's only real if it's from Champagne, France). They poured the champagne, sat down on the couch, and watched the Inauguration coverage.

Just as Barack Obama was about to take the Oath of Office, Will paused the TV (they were recording it as well on the DVR). Terri was confused as to why Will would pause the TV at such an important moment...

Will then started to read a rhyme he wrote for Terri, which ended with "Terri will you marry me?" Terri immediately gave Will a hug and kiss and said "yes." Afterward, she took a look at the ring and was pleasantly surprised with such a beautiful ring.

January 20th, 2009 was truly a memorable day for Terri and Will. It turns out the champagne was for more than just celebrating the Inauguration!
