TAPABA and the Vanderbilt Law School chapter of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association co-hosted a career panel discussion for the entire Vanderbilt Law School student body entitled "How to Get A Job in this Economy." Panelists included Dean Kim (General Counsel for Labor & Employment at Bridgestone Americas, Inc), Tara Kraemer (Attorney at MGLAW), Matt Potempa (Asst. General Counsel Tennessee Dept. of Health and Human Services), and Kelly Fiala (Director of Professional Recruiting & Development, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings). 2009 Mentor/Mentee Kick-Off Happy Hour
TAPABA kicked off its 2008-2009 mentoring program with the Vanderbilt Law School chapter of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association by hosting a happy hour at the Bound'ry on October 23, 2008.
TAPABA President Kaz Kikkawa has been selected to serve on the Tennessee Bar Association's Committee for Racial and Ethnic Diversity. This is a newly formed standing committee of the Tennessee Bar Association. Members include the current and former Presidents of the TBA, USDC Magistrate Judge Tu Pham, and several other prominent attorneys from the across the state.
2008 TAPABA Annual Banquet
TAPABA's first annual banquet was held on June 4, 2008, at Fulin's Chinese Restaurant in Brentwood. TAPABA invited the newly forming Tennessee Association of Asian American Professionals (TAAAP) to join them in celebrating TAPABA's first successful year.

"Doing Business with the Asian American Community in Tennessee" panel discussion
On May 27, 2008, members and guests of TAPABA were invited to a panel discussion hosted by State Farm Subrogration ,Services Diversity and Inclusion Council to speak to State Farm staff.

2008 Mentor/Mentee Kick-Off Happy Hour
TAPABA's first Mentor/Mentee Kick-Off Happy Hour was held on March 20, 2008 at the Bound'ry. It was an opportunity for Vanderbilt students to meet with their assignment attorney mentors.
