The Tennessee Local Food Summit will be held Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Lipscomb University Institute for Sustainable Practice in Nashville, Tennessee. The summit will bring together consumers, farmers, gardeners, chefs, students, businesses and everyone interested in learning more about local food.

The Summit is being organized by Jeff Poppen, the Barefoot Farmer, and other local sustainable farmers and hosted by Dodd Galbreath, Executive Director of the Institute for Sustainable Practice at Lipscomb University.

“I wanted to put together this conference because with a commercial chicken house going up 500 feet from my doorstep, I feel that it's high time we talk to everyone we know about the future of agriculture and the importance of local food. Please join us as a sponsor, exhibitor, participant or volunteer for an opportunity to connect with others who are seeking a better way.” – Jeff Poppen

Sponsors include Long Hungry Creek Farm, Lipscomb University Institute for Sustainable Practice, Nashville Scene, Nashville Public Television, Whole Foods, Local Table, Sodexo and Three Rivers Coop Market.
