3 miles round the lake.
10.5 mile bike (3 laps)
1.25 run.
Team Manvers Duathlon round 2

On a cold crisp Saturday morning a hard core bunch of triathletes turned out for the second Wath Manvers duathlon. Raced over the same 3 mile run 10 mile bike 1 1/2 mile run as in race 1. As in the previous race a brisk pace was set by Mark Benton on the first run finishing the undulating course in 19.01 mins, closely followed by Steve Winslow, in his first ever duathlon in 19.10 mins. It was then out on to the bike taking in the 10 mile circuit around Bolton on Dearne. Mark Benton set a good pace. However, with the clubs top Ironman, Paul Bennington on the chase it was only a matter of time before Benton was caught. It was game over on the 3rd of the 3 laps when Bennigton came flying past and took the lead. Bennington held on to the lead throughout the duration of the race to finish in a time of 1.00.10, followed in by Mark Benton in 1.02.20 and taking 3rd spot was new comer Steve Winslow in a time of 1.02.40. The next of the winter series will be held on Saturday 5th December starting at 10am from the boat house at Manvers lake, Wath Upon Dearne. Anybody is welcome to come along and have ago, all you require is a pair of running shoes and a bike (plus a helmet). You dont have to complete the full event just come and try out duathlon.
