Dudley College sports staff and students are very keen to develop community links and currently work with a number of local schools and clubs in the Black Country.  The College feel it is vital to engage with its local community and help the people of the Dudley region to stay fit, active and healthy through playing sport.

Our Volunteer and Leadership academy students work with over 300 children of all ages on a weekly basis delivering coaching sessions whilst at the same time gaining invaluable experience as young aspiring coaches and leaders.

In 2012/13 the Dudley College Volunteer and Leadership Academy were rewarded for their work in the local community by being awarded the Sport Programme of the Year in an Educational Setting at the Black Country Sport and Physical Activity Awards 2012.  This prestigious award was received for the work undertaken by young leaders in the local community and the commitment to community sport alongside the BeActive Black Country County Sports Partnership.

Another award that Dudley College received in recognition of their community work came when the sports department was awarded the Further Education Award from Birmingham County FA for their enthusiasm, delivery and sustainability of football for all levels across the college and local community. The college have been commended for their superb model of delivery which enables students to participate and coach in flexible formats of football across the college and local community.

The popularity of the work undertaken by Dudley College in the local community has led to Dudley College setting up organised holiday camps for children aged 5-14 years to attend.  These courses are run by qualified, specialist staff who all have first aid qualifications and CRB clearance.  For any information about community work please contact Rob Elkin on the contact details below and see all future activity camp information:

Parent Testimonial:

“Our 5 year old son has just attended his third activity camp.  Each time he has attended we have been welcomed by friendly, supportive coaches and we feel reassured that he is learning and improving his sporting skills in a  safe and fun environment, making new friends of all ages at an activity camp which also offers great value for money.  He can’t wait for the next school holidays so he can attend the camp again!”   - Mr & Mrs Barratt, Earls Keep, Dudley
