Sport for the Next Generation

At Dudley College we are extremely proud of our sports development programme, which gives you the chance to study and pursue your sporting interests at the same time.

Team Dudley Sport has been developed to demonstrate our commitment to sport and add value to your experience as a student. We want you to have the opportunity to excel in your chosen sport be it competing, volunteering, coaching or just keeping fit and active whilst completing your academic studies.

The commitment to supporting our students has led to some great success stories. In January 2014 Summer Holmes became our second female player and fifth player overall to receive International honours. In 2012 Rory Davies represented the BCS England Colleges football team.  In February 2011 Tyree Clarke and Lyndsey Glover were both selected to play for England Colleges football teams with the latter being selected again in January 2012. This followed Chris Knights 2010 success when he also represented the Under 19 England Colleges Football team scoring in both games he played.

Through Team Dudley Sport, you can: Receive specialised coaching and training for 6 hours per week, represent the College regionally and nationally in British Colleges Sports tournaments, attend trials for regional and national squads, get involved in volunteering in the local area and take coaching and leadership qualifications.

Our football development programme has been recognised for its outstanding quality and in July 2010 and again in March 2012 The FA and British Colleges Sport (BCS) awarded us Focus College status. This means Dudley College is involved in helping to deliver the FA’s National Game strategy.  In June 2011 BCS recognised Dudley College as 'The Outstanding College' in helping to develop football on both a regional and national level.

As you can see, there are many different ways to get involved! Thanks for your interest in Team Dudley Sport and our team look forward to working with you soon.
