27. Whiteboarding and Socratic Dialogues
Abstract: Whiteboarding and Socratic dialogues are often at the heart of instruction in inquiry-oriented classrooms. Both are helpful when it comes to making student thinking transparent in relation to concept development, eliciting and confronting students’ alternative conceptions, increasing student understanding, providing examples of appropriate work and thought, and much more. Physics teachers and their students will benefit immensely from these approaches to teaching.
