DEEP

The Data Explorations in Ecology Project (DEEP) is striving to learn how students use first and second hand data in the classroom.  This project has classroom teacher fellows.  If you are interested in getting more information, please contact Cornelia Harris at harrisc@caryinstitute.org
 
Teaching modules focus on data literacy practices using both first and second hand data, and focus on five topics:

1)  Biodiversity of Fish in the Hudson River
2)  Hydrofracking (two versions: turbidity and chloride)
3)  Lead Pollution
4)  pH changes in Lake Minnewaska
5)  Salt Pollution

A short unit teaching the basics of Claims, Evidence & Reasoning.
