Unsettling facts and calls for change

These readings are contemporary calls for change to the status quo of undergraduate mathematics education.

  • Unsettling facts. There are two blog posts in this folder one by Richardson and the other by Broussoud. Both say largely the same thing. Richardson is a former teacher and consultant his piece is written for the k-12 education community. Broussoud is the former president of the MAA. His piece is written for us: the college math education community. Subjectively, I find the Richardson piece more compelling, but Broussoud obviously has much more cache in the mathematics community and his examples are likely more relevant.
  • Calls for change. The readings in this folder are calls for change from the undergraduate mathematics community.
