About Mrs. Q

As the youngest of 4 children (and several cats) of a Mennonite pastor and a nursing instructor, Becky Quiring was born in Kansas, and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. When her family moved back to Kansas, she attended all 4 years of high school in the small town of Hesston. The enrollment of Hesston High School at the time was 250 students, grades 9-12. She actively participated in sports and school clubs. Graduating in 1980, she then spent two years at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, a distant 7 miles down the road. There she played basketball and tennis, and was involved in some campus publications.

Tired of the Kansas climate, and in search of better weather her journey led her to Fresno Pacific College (now a University), where the sun shines every day in the summer.

Here she played basketball while earning her degree and teaching credential. She has since attended graduate classes at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and has spent countless hours in computer training from various organizations and educational institutions.

Mrs. Q began her teaching career at Bullard in 1985, where she taught physical education for 9 years, coaching tennis and basketball. From there she moved into the classroom to teach Sociology, and 4 years later began her present assignment in the business department as a computer instructor. Along the way she earned 2 additional teaching credentials.

Mrs. Q's hobbies include
non-computer-related activities such as distance cycling, playing with Sammy (her Australian Shepherd), reading, cooking,
taking naps, watching movies, and playing with photography. Below are videos and photos of Melody, her first Aussie whom she lost in 2017, and and of Sammy...Melody's great-grandson!
