Select a Quote!

  • Log into your computer
  • Choose 2 quotes from the list, at least one of which you agree with or feel positively about
  • Go to your Class Blog (alternative: Open MS Word), type out the quote and write about your connection to and reflection of the quotation
  • Self to text, self to world and/or self to self
  • How does this quote reflect your beliefs, feelings or knowledge? Does it make you think differently about something? Why would you agree or disagree with it?
  • Save your post 
  • Comment on your group/partner’s blog and at least one other classmate’s entry

Research Your Quote

  • Choose one quote to research further
  • Type your quote into the Google search bar http://www.google.com
  • Find out who said it
  • In a new search, type: [person’s name] biography: check out 2 -3 different sites
  • Open up your journal
  • Copy and paste the web address into your document to record your research & work

Write a Brief Biography

  • Write 3-4 paragraphs about this person (who, what, why, where, when, how) in Blog/Forum/ or Word document
  • Who were they? Where and when did they live/die?
  • What are they famous for?
  • What era of history did they live in and how did the times affect them?
  • How did they affect history? (Civil rights? Professional sports? Etc.?)
  • SAVE YOUR WORK and print or record your biography for grading.
