Tuesday November 16th, 6pm Lerner Party Space, Free Dinner!!

For 23 years, a rebel group called the Lords Resistance Army terrorized Northern Uganda, causing massive displacement, abducting thousands of innocent children and forcing them to become child soldiers. The LRA was recently forced out of Uganda, but is now causing large-scale death and destruction in three surrounding countries. What started out as a small rebel movement has evolved into one of the longest, most violent conflicts on the continent.

Come learn about the conflict in central Africa through a documentary screening and discussion with representatives from the non-profit Invisible Children and two Ugandan University students. These students will share their stories: stories of war, recovery and hope. You will also learn how YOU can be part of the solution and take proactive steps to help end this deadly war.

Any donations and profits from merchandise sales will go to build radio alert systems that will save lives in Northeast Congo where the LRA is currently attacking. Brought to you by Amnesty International, UNICEF, GlobeMed, Columbia Child Rights Group, InterVarsity Social Justice, African Students Association and the Global Initiative for Social Change through the Arts.
