Essential Questions

How many ways can I describe an object?

Vocabulary

The following definitions are in kindergarten terminology.  For pictures and sentences look for the Kindergarten Picture Dictionary (K.Unit2.Vocab.pdf) at the bottom of this webpage.

·      ice – water that has become a solid

·      frost – tiny ice crystals that form when the temperature drops below freezing

·      color – used to describe how an object looks

·      colors – red, orange, yellow,  green, blue, purple, brown, white, black, pink

·      shape – used to describe how an object looks

·      big – the size of an object

·      small – the size of an object

·      size – used to describe how an object looks

·      weight – how heavy or light something is

·      water – liquid that can be poured

·      soft – describes how something feels

·      hard – describes how something feels

·      same – when objects are like each other

·      different – when objects are not like each other in some way

·      larger – when one object is bigger than another object

·      smaller – when one object is smaller than another object

·      object – a thing that can be touched
