President's Message

Happy New Year to all our members and guests of the Navy League Treasure Coast Council! The Board wishes you a very Happy and Healthy 2019.

Our December appreciation luncheon at the Navy UDT- SEAL museum was a success as was John Beckert’s coleslaw! We thank the luncheon committee for their organization and preparation for this event as we offered our appreciation to the museum volunteers. I thank all the members and guests who attended.

Our dinner meetings resume on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 5:30PM at Point West Country Club. We are pleased to announce our speaker, Dr. Scott Tilley, Florida Institute of Technology Professor Emeritus, whose topic is, “The Expanding and Evolving World of Drones.” Along with my message, Julie has attached the RSVP flyer to this email and we hope to see all of you on the 22nd.

As in previous January dinner meetings, we will introduce the 2019 Board of Directors and Officers who will take the oath of office. We thank them for volunteering to serve on the Board as either Directors or Officers in support of our Council. We will also wish those who have served so commendably and been so loyal to our Council - “Fair Winds and Following Seas!”

Additionally, Randy Laws will provide a brief user overview of our website which we will use more frequently in the future to communicate the Council’s activities and updates. Therefore, I ask all of you to please continue to refer to the website (treasurecoastnavyleague.org) for all updates and pictures/articles from our Youth Programs, other activities and past dinner meetings. With the website, the trifolds, Julie Nowak emailing the dinner RSVP flyers and my President’s messages, we begin our transition moving forward regarding Council communication efforts.

In closing, we continue to have another extremely successful response to our Annual Appeal. I am so grateful for your support and participation in our Council. I always welcome your comments as the Council moves forward. Very respectfully, Maryjo Thompson
