Our History

growing a love of swimming . . .

Our team was founded in 1963 at the Spring Valley Pool in Granville, Ohio. The team swam at Spring Valley for over 42 years enjoying many league championships and a history of family-oriented activities like sand castle contests, greased watermelon races, and cake-baking competitions with the Granville community.

In 2005, when Spring Valley Pool closed, the Heath Pool invited the Stingrays to use their facilities. We have had many successful seasons at Heath, growing our numbers and training a new generation of swimmers in the spirit of our Spring Valley founders. Many swimmers on our team come from multiple generations of Stingray families and are proud to carry on a tradition that embraces a love for the sport of swimming!

We have always been a team that has cherished friendship and family and an environment that builds a strong knowledge base for competitive swimming and lifelong wellness.

Our philosophy is that first and foremost our children should grow to learn and love to swim while enjoying a summer experience full of safe fun and friendship.

The trees were green and the grass was green

and so was the water in the old "concrete pond."

It was a beautiful paradise nestled in the woods.

Stingrays, snakes, and a giant SNOG lived in the Spring Valley Pool!

And they all enjoyed catching sea lions, water moccasins, and gators

during our dual meets!
