Maud slid the glass of milk over to his patron after he'd finished pouring. "So, I'll wager you're a fan of River Dance... any other insights you can offer?"

Lyn adjusted one of the straps of her overalls before answering. "Not really. I suppose at heart I'm a country girl... I prefer things to be simple and straightforward." She had a sip of her milk. "That said, being Linear, I'm positively overworked. And negatively overworked too."

Maud nodded. "Well, you're off duty now."

Lyn shook her head. "Just not taking direct calls." She glanced down at the watch-like device on her left hand. "One good thing is I have Slope to help me out..."

"Slope?" Maud mused. "That's not a polynomial."

Lyn smiled. "Nope. Not sure how you'd classify her, but I prefer her company to the rest of my family."

"I suppose it helps that Slope never throws you any curves," Maud decided.

Lyn rolled her eyes. "Don't send the conversation on a tangent."
