BLOOD DRIVE SPECIFICS: 

Thursday, March 29, 2012

12:00 pm to 6:00 pm – staff will arrive at 10:30 am to begin set up in the University Center Exhibit Hall

Location:  University Center – Exhibit Hall

GOAL:

36 pints (sign up 55 donors); each pint can save up to 3 lives

ALYX (double red cell)  donors: 1 donor at the top of each hour (see eligibility guidelines); each donation counts as 2 towards your goal

LOGISTICS:

University Center Exhibit Hall –  Registration will be outside of the exhibit hall.  Canteen and holding area will be just inside of the room.

PROMOTIONAL / INCENTIVE ITEMS: All items are first come first served

Winter Regional Drawings – All presenting volunteer blood donors will be automatically entered into a drawing for a pair of Delta Air Lines round trip tickets.

All presenting volunteer blood donors will receive an American Red Cross t-shirt

Postcards to donors

Voice recorded Broadcast Message to donors from previous drives. 

Signs at University Center entrances – Sara to bring

Placed on student activities calendar – Sara added in early Feb.

 Tau Beta Pi – will hang posters; Can promote on FB?  Can send texts to friends? Can announce in class and pass around schedule?

VOLUNTEERS for Blood Drive:

Registration: 1 volunteer per 2 hour shift

Canteen: 1 volunteer per 2 hour shift

Donor Recruiters (during blood drive): 2 volunteers per 2 hour shift

Volunteers to make appointments:  1 volunteer per call sheet

Pre-Shift:  Need contact to meet staff upon arrival at 10:30

Shift 1:  12 to 2 pm

Shift 2:  2 to 4 pm

Shift 3:  4 to 6 pm

Sara Cochran with the Red Cross will be at the drive to assist.  The Red Cross staff will set up and break down the blood drive.
