The Tattler is a small black box 5.5"x4"x1.5" (135x110x35mm) that connects via a single provided cable to the Roadster's diagnostic port in the passenger foot well. It sends and receives SMS text messages via any GSM carrier e.g. AT&T, T-mobile etc.  Besides the Tattler, you require an inexpensive SMS text plan and GSM SIM card.
