2015-2016 Trash Trek Season

We’re not talking trash – we’re cleaning it up! In the 2015 FIRST® LEGO League TRASH TREK Challenge, more than 233,000 children ages 9 to 16 from over 80 countries will explore the fascinating world of trash. From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye. Join FIRST LEGO League teams on a Trash Trek to discover the hidden (or not so hidden) world of trash! - See more at:

This year was T.A.T.D.Y.A.L.F.'s 5th year doing FLL.

Our team members that year were: Cordelia, Fiona, Joel, Macy, Rohan, Sebastian. Our main coach is Kyle Blais and we also had a co-coach named Michelle Ryan.

That season we decided to have out team mascot be BB-8, the droid from the Force Awakens Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens (which we all watched together at the movie theater).

This year we also made a song parody about FLL as well as our team song, which is based on the Muppets theme. Go to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LZzv2DUV2c to view it.

At regionals, we got the best robot award (in which the teams vote for their favorite robot), the robot performance award, and the Champions award. We also moved on to State.

At State we won the Global Innovation Award and the Second Place Champions Award. We then moved on to Nationals. We were invited to California and we accepted, so we went to the Legoland Nationals.

At Nationals we had lots of fun and got a callback in Project. Then we won the 2nd place Research Award.
