Ride Leaders Course - Fri 21 Oct 2011

A one day ride leaders course is being offered to teachers, youth leaders and social riding group leaders. The course is being run by an Austcycle qualified instructor.
Time: 9am to 4.30pm
Venue: TBC (Glenorchy)
Max Participants: 10
Characteristics of the Group: Current or prospective ride leaders who have intermediate bike riding skills and have experience in leading groups in outdoor or recreational activities
Target Session Outcome: Achieve knowledge and skills to lead a group of riders (who skills might range from beginner to intermediate) in a range of environments.
Participants to supply:  bikes, helmets, safety vest (if have), and writing material (pad / pen), .
Cost: $70 plus gst (includes: learning materials, sample forms, handouts, any specific training equipment)

  • Bike Skills review
  • Cycling in traffic
  • Inclusive Participation
  • Managing Risk and Record keeping
The course will be a mixture of training room activities and skill practice sessions. Although not an accredited Austcycle course the learning outcomes will align to some of the Austcycle Teacher modules.
