Information for Participating Teams

General Meet Information

Important Dates

The New Wave Swim team is TSA's meet management partner for the 2012 TSA Championship. To efficiently accommodate all swimmers, specific teams are assigned to swim on Saturday and others are assigned to swim on Sunday. Click here for the list of those team assignments.

Information for Families Who Wish to Participate

First, check with your TSA representative or coach to verify your team's participation and your child's entries. If your team is NOT organizing team entries, your family is still encouraged to represent your team on an individual basis. Individual entries must be submitted using this entry form, and each swimmer must also submit a signed waiver form.

Heat Sheet Advertisements
Participating teams and families as well as local businesses are encouraged to place advertisements in the meet heat sheet booklet. See the sponsor form for details.

Team Entry Procedures

Teams who are fully participating in the meet must submit their event entries in Hy-Tek Team Manager format. See the detailed entry instructions before downloading the meet events file. A free download of Team Manager Lite is available for teams that do not have Team Manager (scroll down the page and choose the Lite link). Teams may also use TeamUnify to generate TM-compatible meet entries. Participating teams must submit a signed waiver form for every swimmer entered.

Volunteer Information

Volunteer assignments will be posted in July.

Pool / Facility Information

The event is being held at the indoor, 3-pool, 38-lane Triangle Aquatic Center near the Cary Towne Center. Free parking is available in the mall lot near the Sears store.

Awards and Results

We're excited to try something new this year: separate award categories for each year of all the two-year age groups. While swimmers will still compete and score points in the usual TSA age groups, we will award one set of medals and ribbons to the 16 fastest 7-year-old swimmers in each of the age 7-8 individual events, and another set of medals and ribbons to the 16 fastest 8-year-old swimmers in the same events! This also applies to each half of the 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 age groups. The 6-and-under age groups and the 15-18 age groups are not affected. Relay awards are also unaffected: the top three teams in each event will receive medals and the rest of the top eight will get ribbons. In all individual events, the top eight swimmers in each award category will be awarded medals and the next eight will receive ribbons.
